June 2017 moms!

I had my second visit on Monday. Instead of the NT, I had a brief ultrasound (really just for my miscarriage fears) and had blood drawn for the Panorama. I'm hoping the results are back before Thanksgiving, since we are planning to announce to relatives then. My nausea and food aversions have eased a little bit, but I found out the hard way that I'm not ready to decrease the diclegis dose yet. That experiment led to a hard couple of days!

I just have 9 days left in the first trimester!

@Iced Tea: wow! I can't believe you are almost out of the 1st tri! That makes it seem like the time has passed way more quickly than it feels!

I'm about 10.5 weeks now. Crazy to realize I'm 1/4 of the way through! I had a terrible morning on Tuesday. Woke up early to go to the bathroom, then couldn't fall asleep again because my stomach was empty. Got up to go to the bathroom again and ate half a banana...then ended up puking up the banana I ate while I was showering. I have been having some GI pains/irritability that have been bothering me too. I had a feeling I was going to throw up on Tuesday...I think all the times I've been sick I've known it was going to happen compared to other days when I just don't feel well. Overall though, I do feel like my MS is getting better...but I don't feel like my heartburn meds are helping all that much. I noticed a huge difference with it in my last pregnancy, but I didn't have to take it until later in the second tri. I still end up feeling pretty bad in the evenings and I'm sure it's heartburn related. I'm already on Prevacid (Pepcid does nothing for me) and I'm not sure I can do anything stronger. I'm kinda hoping once the hormones settle a little after the 1st tri my heartburn will settle down too. Maybe I'm being a little too hopefully though, haha!

My next apt is with the MFM doc(my OB won't do any U/S) and it isn't until 12/1! I'll be just shy of 13 weeks! The waiting is going to kill me! I may call my OB next week to see if they can fit me in for a HB check!! 2 weeks is a long time for this anxious momma!

I had an appt today and we heard the heartbeat on the Doppler! It was really exciting (I'm 11+1 today). I'm starting to get really down about how crappy I feel all the time. Just really disconnected from everything and blech. So it was really great to hear the heartbeat. I'm also pretty stressed because my insurance is going to change to Kaiser on 12/1. Which means a whole new set of doctors, hospital, insurance, etc. I've also never had an HMO.

I hope everyone starts feeling better soon!

Hi All, I have not so great news to share with all you. My ultrasound did not go well last night and this morning I got the news. My gestational sac was measuring 7wks but no yolk sac or pole. I would have been 9 wks tomorrow - I am certain. I go in for blood work today and Saturday to check my hormone levels but I’m not feeling very positive. I don’t really feel pregnant anymore - still just really tired and mild cramping. I had a good cry earlier and now just feel stunned. This Saturday is my niece's 1st birthday so there will be tons of babies around. I hope I can hold it together.

@YogiBeachWife: I'm so sorry to hear that. I wish I had something to say that would make you feel better, but I don't think there are words that can really do that. Just know that however you're feeling is ok. I hope you get answers soon. Hugs!!

I hope everyone's doing ok and looking forward to Thanksgiving plans! I'm still feeling so sick and exhausted that I've basically just been lurking here.

We plan to tell my kids about the baby on Wednesday and then tell everyone who doesn't already know at Thanksgiving the next day. I haven't had an US / heard the HB since 8 weeks which makes me nervous, but I'm feeling so terrible that at least that makes me a little more confident! My NT scan is the following Thursday.

@MrsF I'm so with you on still feeling sick and exhausted.

I'm having a bit of a rough week (I realize it's only Monday) because my mom is going through a health scare (scary thing on her lung getting biopsied tomorrow). My pregnant self sucks at regulating emotions on an normal day and I am not handling this too well. I want to be calm/supportive for her and also my little sister, not doing a great job. We're spending Thanksgiving with my in-laws which I'm trying to look forward to, but with this going on I really wish I was going to be with my family. That was a somewhat incoherent ramble, but thanks for listening.

@MrsF: That's exciting that you are telling your kiddos about the pregnancy! That's also special that you're sharing with your family on Thanksgiving! Glad you don't have to wait too long for your next apt.!

@msmilkshake: I'm sorry to hear about your mom. Hoping and praying everything turns out ok! Do both of your families live close? Could you do dessert with your family so you can still see them?

I was having some serious cramping over the weekend. More than usual. My OB had me come in today and I heard 2 strong HB! I was very thankful for that! Turns out I have a Bacteria infection.. gross. That could cause some cramping. I'm on an antibitoic for the next few days!
I'm feeling super sick every time I eat. Lots of indigestion and acid reflux. It's with everything I eat, no matter what! Any suggestions on what to do? Will it go away? It's pretty miserable!

@MrsF: Yay for telling your kiddos! But sorry to hear you are still feeling so terrible

@msmilkshake: I'm sorry to hear about your mom. I hope things turn out ok. I can totally see how it would be hard to be away from her/your family for Thanksgiving though.

@Winnie13: I have been having terrible heartburn since the beginning. I started taking Prevacid after my 8 week appointment (so I have been taking it for about 3 weeks). It helped a lot with my first pregnancy, but it's not the magical cure I remember the first time I constantly feel like regurgitation stuff in the back of my throat and it is awful. Tomatoes always make it worse for me, so I would recommend avoiding anything tomato/red sauce. I think bananas are supposed to be natural antacids, so you could try eating those when it gets bad? If it's really bad I would recommend asking your OB about a prescription!

I have been feeling a lot better. We are on vacation (visiting my in-laws for the week) and I was worried I would feel like crap all week. My acid reflux is still bothering me a lot at night, but I do feel like it's better than it was weeks ago. I have had some off and on nausea throughout the day, but I haven't thrown up and I have been able to drink coffee the past two mornings! We told my in-laws when we got here on Friday (well our DS did) and they are very excited, so it's been fun. I'm looking forward to telling my family over FaceTime on Thanksgiving morning! My NT scan and 12 week appointment are the Monday/Tuesday after Thanksgiving. Looking forward to seeing baby again!

@MrsF: we told my kids on Saturday. We all listened to the Doppler together, saying we were looking for a baby. They were very excited and now, my littlest one keeps saying a baby is cooking.

@msmilkshake: hope everything goes well with your mom and turns out to be insignificant!

@Winnie13: hope the bacteria clears up quickly!

@bookwormmama: gl w nt! Love those!

Hi All, I want to thank you all for your support, hugs, thoughts, and prayers. Sadly, after checking my hormone levels and another ultrasound this morning it's confirmed I have a blighted ovum. I wish you all happy and healthy pregnancies, June mommas! I'm looking forward to starting our pregnancy journey again for our first babe in the new year. XOXO

Hey everyone! Just chugging along here at 8 weeks. Normal first trimester woes. Also, our nanny quit and it has been a total scramble for the past few weeks. I am super hesitant to tell any family that I'm pregnant so I'm just going to try and hide it this week. I'm sure everyone will suspect it, but let them suspect. I have another ultrasound on Monday and i'm hoping that a good strong heartbeat then will bring me some relief.

Hope everyone has a wonderful holiday weekend

@tequiero21: I apparently have to go through genetic counseling before hand (I'm seeing OBs at a university hospital so all ultrasounds are with MFM). I'm not really looking forward to the hour meeting before the ultrasound!

@winniebee: I'm so sorry to hear your nanny quit. I know that must be so stressful. I nannied 3 kids part time for almost 4 years. I had to quit because we moved to a new state, and I know it was so hard for them to find a replacement because we all felt like a big family. The kids regularly spent time with my DH and DS came with me after he was born. I took over for them after their longtime nanny decided she just didn't want to watch kids anymore, and it really worked out great for all of us. I hope you can find a great replacement quickly

@bookwormmama: aw I didn't know you were a nanny! Yeah it was very abrupt - she had been with us for 15 months and was excellent with the kids. She basically had a nervous breakdown two weeks ago and that was that. My older son is very sad about it. They were both already in montessori school so I just upped their hours there and we are going to try to get on without a nanny until this baby is (hopefully) born. It is so hard finding good care and the transition period is difficult plus I only needed her for 20 hours of actual care (the other 15 hours was house stuff). Thanks for chiming in

It's such fun hearing how you're all sharing the news with family and friends! We ordered Christmas cards signed from me, DH, our kids and Baby Lastname, so most of our family/friends will find out then. We're planning to tell immediate family and grandparents on Thursday.

Knock on wood, this has been the easiest pregnancy I've had as far as nausea goes. At 12 weeks, I'm hoping I'm in the clear! My back is already crap, but I expected that. I hope everyone starts getting some relief soon!

    Hi everyone!
Once again I've been reading the thread but haven't been replying. Still suffering morning sickness over here, been especially bad the last 1.5weeks but got 12 weeks today and it hasn't been too bad today so far so *hopefully* it's the beginning of the end of morning sickness!
Had my NT scan yesterday, everything looks good and baby was super active (even flipping upside down)
Our families and some friends know about the pregnancy but I think I might do a Facebook reveal this weekend.

Hope you are all doing well, and hope you can enjoy your thanksgiving meals!

@rattles: I have been debating if I want to put a picture of DS in a Big Bro shirt on our Xmas cards or not because I think that is such a fun way to announce! At first I wanted to, but we will see my extended family the day after Christmas and I thought it would be fun to tell people in person. I will definitely be showing by then (I think I'll be like 16 weeks?) so I'm not sure I will be able to gather everyone in the room to announce it before I start getting the questions! Maybe I can hide under my coat until we tell everyone, haha!
