@MrsF: congrats!!!
@rattles: nah we will find out with our NIPT results (hopefully any day). But after 3 boys I would be shocked with a girl!

@MrsF: congrats!
@rattles: We are definitely finding out; I am way too impatient and too much of a planner to be Team Green. (I need to get some stuff monogrammed, haha!) my anatomy scan is 1/24 so we will find out then
grapefruit / 4903 posts
@jape14: see, I'm a planner too, and there's twice as much planning to do if you're TG can't wait to hear what you're having though!
@winniebee: I have two friends who had their fourth this year. Both had three boys and just had/are expecting little girls! Perhaps it's a trend?

@MrsF congrats--how exciting to know already!
@rattles we are hardcore team green as well. I still think it was the best surprise of our lives when I delivered DD. It definitely helped motivate me through 36 hours of unmedicated labor! Let's hope baby #2 is a little less stubborn coming out but I'm excited to not know until the end.

I've been a posting machine today but wanted to let y'all know my NIPT came back low risk and we are having another boy

@winniebee: congratulations! I'm so happy to hear your positive news!

@winniebee: Sending super congrats to you! We are thrilled right along with you!
@rattles: We are Team Green, and I agree, it's more planning because you need contingency plans. Did we share a due date board last time? I think I remember us discussing this before.

@Iced Tea: I don't think we were, but maybe it was on one of those threads where people ask about whether they should find out? I remember that too now that you say it!

@Iced Tea: I hope you're feeling better!
@winniebee: congrats on the good news!
I haven't posted recently because this week has been a real mixed bag. I cut down my meds a little and have been feeling pretty bad. I've been taking Vitamin B when I was taking my prescription and it's just not the same. I'm back to survival mode for the most part.
I'm also sort of casually trying to night wean my toddler because the nipple pain is starting to get bad. I'm starting to dread nursing but it's not going well because we live in a one bedroom apartment. We were going to move in February but an ideal situation looks like it'll be available in June, so we're trying to decide if it's worth it to wait.
But I've been feeling a lot of movement lately so that's good. It really helps to keep me positive. I love my DD so much I can't help but get excited for who this LO will be. I just wish our living situation were a little more secure.
We scheduled my anatomy scan for 1/11 and I'm super excited. I've been feeling like it's a boy but who knows. We cant decide on a girl name! Is anyone else thinking about names yet?
pear / 1586 posts
@winniebee: congratulations on the great news!
@newlypregnantlady: we are also thinking about names. we are pretty much set on a girl name -- our first is a boy so we haven't yet used our favorite girl name (Caroline).
we have a bunch of contenders that we love for a boy that makes it hard to decide -- definitely a good problem to have, though! for that reason we are very much looking forward to the anatomy scan so we can start to move on a decision (and as I mentioned above, so I can get some things monogrammed!).

@jape14: I love Caroline! @newlypregnantlady: we have the opposite problem - we've never felt settled on a boy name!
I love names. I read a lot of name blogs even when not pregnant!
persimmon / 1198 posts
@newlypregnantlady: we've talked about names. We are pretty set on a boy name, but the girl name we've had picked out for 4 years was used by my husband's cousin on his daughter born this past summer. I'm not quite as sad as I was, but feeling like this baby is a girl (due to what the ultrasound tech told me at 12 weeks) makes it harder. I was so in love with the name, but we don't want to use it now. They would have the same first and last name and it's not super common, so it would be weird. We've talked about another girl name that has grown on me a lot recently. We have another option we like too, so I think once we find out girl/boy we will discuss it more seriously.

@jape14: Caroline is one we talked about when I first got pregnant! Super cute!

@newlypregnantlady: we had such a hard time coming up with my son's name and I'm already worried about naming this kid. I always have so many girl names that I love.
We'll figure it out!
ETA: I love Caroline

@newlypregnantlady: we've had a boy name decided since I was pregnant with our first. We've got 2 girls so thinking of another has been pretty difficult so far, we haven't really even discussed girls names except the middle name. I'm seeing my midwife the second week of January and will get the scan referral form for the gender scan then, will make things so much easier when we know the gender! (In thinking this is a boy but I'm not 100% convinced yet)

@jape14: @rattles: @MrsF: @MrsStar:
It's so funny how names work out. We have a boy name that I love but my husband isn't 100% on the middle name. And there are girl names that my husband likes but that I'm not too hot on, even though they were on the list for our first!
@bookwormmama: there are some girl names that I like but feel are too similar to my nieces, or have been used by my (paternal) cousin. I'm not close to my cousin at all so I'm kind of on the fence about using it (plus it's a family name from my maternal side).
So it wouldn't be too weird but it would be a little weird. I mean, I see those relatives once every 5+ years, but my brother (who I see frequently) is very close to that cousin, and they talk frequently. Hopefully we find a name we agree on before too long! I've even been watching the credits of movies for name ideas!

@winniebee How exciting! Hooray!
@newlypregnantlady We've started thinking a little about names, but I'm afraid my husband and I are never going to agree on one haha. It seems like everything one of us comes up with the other thinks...not so much.

@Mrs. Pajamas: @jape14: So glad to hear you had great scans!!
@winniebee: Yay!! What great news!! Congrats on the great results and the news of baby boy!!
@Iced Tea: So sorry you're going through this! Hoping for good news on Monday!! How are you feeling?
@newlypregnantlady: We have a boy name and a girl name picked out and 2 girl names. We can't decide on the 2nd boy name, so maybe that's a sign!!
We are totally finding out the babies sex! I can't wait that long! Lol!
My anatomy scan is coming up on the 28th!! We are having a gender reveal party and we're using build a bears. We already recorded their heartbeats and will put it in the bears. We will have the sales clerk dress the bears in girls/boys clothes and reveal them that evening!! We are just hoping babies cooperate!!

@MrsStar: We had a second boy name that we liked last time but it just doesn't seem right at all any more. Funny how that works.
@newlypregnantlady: I have the same issues with cousins, etc having the same names. My SIL thought that I was crazy for not using those names (she has lots of duplicates on her side of her family, apparently), but that just seems so strange to me.
@Winnie13: That's such a cute idea with the bears Can't wait to hear the news!

Has anyone felt any movement? I swear that I've felt a couple of little flutters in the past couple of days, and then something fairly strong last night in the car! I don't think I felt anything until a bit later last time but I'm 15w today so I think it's possible.
hostess / wonderful grape / 20803 posts
@Winnie13: So soon! Sounds like a really fun idea.
@MrsF: With DS2 I felt movement by 14-15 weeks - I felt him early and often!
kiwi / 501 posts
@winniebee: What does the movement feel like? I have lots of things going on down there, so I don't really know what are babies!! I'm 15w, so do you think I can feel them?
hostess / wonderful grape / 20803 posts
@Winnie13: I think it's pretty uncommon to feel movement that early with your first pregnancy, but perhaps? It's so hard to describe. For me it just felt like little pops of movement - little touches.
pear / 1586 posts
@MrsF: I am like 95% confident I have felt baby moving already! I started feeling it late last week which was about 12.5 weeks. early, but it definitely wasn't gas and the movements felt very similar to ones with my first. in my first pregnancy, I felt movement starting around 15-16 weeks. DH was able to feel it from the outside shortly thereafter. I am pretty thin with a short torso (and posterior placenta) so I think that helps!
nectarine / 2994 posts
@MrsF: have since 13 weeks (will be 16 weeks tomorrow) but only when I'm my down. Feels like a goldfish swimming in my belly! Didn't expect it this early since I have an anterior placenta this time. With lo1 I felt movement at 18 weeks and 16 weeks with my second.
persimmon / 1198 posts
@MrsF: I think have been feeling some movement too! The past two nights right after I lay down on my back I've felt some twitches low. Usually I feel it a couple times in a row in the same spot which makes me think it's baby. I think I felt where the baby was positioned last night too. It felt like a little lump on my left side haha. I'll be 15 weeks tomorrow...but baby has been measuring like 4-5 days ahead so maybe it's a little bigger right now?
kiwi / 556 posts
@MrsF: I'm definitely feeling movement. I was feeling movement around 14.5 weeks that I thought was gas but when I saw the baby moving on the ultrasound I realized it was the baby!
I do have to kind of concentrate to find it but I definitely am feeling movement, but this is my second baby and I was in maternity pants at like 9 weeks.
grapefruit / 4903 posts
I've been feeling movement for a couple of weeks now too! I wouldn't have recognized it with my first, but it was like having deja vu feeling it once again. I had an anterior placenta and didn't feel movement until 25 weeks with my first, but it's been around 13/14 weeks for my second and third.

We added a photo of DS in a Big Brother shirt on our Christmas cards, and our family and close friends are starting to get them. Kinda exciting and nerve wracking for so many to finally know!
kiwi / 702 posts
@bookwormmama how cute! I had originally really wanted to do the same for our Xmas cards but chickened out. I've had an early m/c before and even though my 12 week screening stuff came back fine I'll probably always be on edge. Plus I'm having a hard time believing this is actually happening. Very excited for movement. Congrats to those who are feeling it already!

@Iced Tea: ha ve you heard about your test? Thinking of you!
honeydew / 7283 posts
@bookwormmama: Cute! I agree that it's a little nerve wracking thinking about people knowing.
grapefruit / 4903 posts
@bookwormmama: we announced via our cards as well! We just signed it from DH, me, DD1, DD2 and Baby. It's been like an accidental reading comprehension test to see who noticed.
@Iced Tea: I hope you're feeling well and had good results. Thinking of you!

The culture was negative. After that ordeal, I'm not 100% confident that they ordered it right, so hopefully the result is accurate. I'm 16 weeks and have the anatomy ultrasound January 13th at 19w6d; looking forward to that! I have been feeling better.
Because of a change in insurance, which renders my previous office and hospital out of network, I've just switched to a new midwife practice. I like her so far; she's very good at individualizing care. The practice I just left came highly recommended but definitely gave off an assembly-line feel, so maybe the change is for the best.
persimmon / 1198 posts
@rattles: we put the photo on the backside (and signed it me, DH, Big Bro DS) so people have to flip it over. I'm fairly certain at least one of our bachelor friends hasn't noticed it. We had a couple friends text and say they missed it at first. I always flip photo cards over when I get them so I thought it would be a fun surprise. Hopefully people don't miss it!
@Iced Tea: I'm glad to hear you are feeling better and the culture came back negative! Do you think your new midwife would reorder the test if you are concerned about the accuracy?
hostess / wonderful grape / 20803 posts
@Iced Tea: glad the test was negative! I hope the anatomy scan will bring you even more reassurance.
grapefruit / 4903 posts
@Iced Tea: so glad to hear the tests were negative and that your new midwife is a good match!
