Happy November ladies!!
@momtimes3: Yay for shower decor! I think DD was sitting on a nerve of mine last Friday because my right calf up to my butt cheek was tingly/achy for like half the day!
Then she proceeded not to move beginning Friday evening until Saturday evening! What the heck?! I got worried around 3pm Saturday so I called the OB and they had me go into my delivering hospital to be monitored. Took us a bit to find her, but we did (phew!) and when we did, she'd move again, but I couldn't feel her. So weird!

How far are you now Alive? I still only feel movements sometimes... But only 21.5 wks so i think that's normal glad u found her n she was ok!!

Anyone else's uterus feel sore? I have this mostly in the afternoon/evening that my lower stomach just feels mildly sore. Is this a second pregnancy thing? I don't remember feeling this soreness the first time around.

Hi ladies! I've been MIA for awhile too, but still here, with a kicking baby inside now and my 2nd trimester screening/ultrasound is tomorrow - can't wait!! 19 weeks and I felt baby move about 2 weeks ago (all day), then nothing, until yesterday again. I've determined it's when I wear snugger pants that I feel him most. He gets pissy with the tight quarters I guess, lol.
@Lilbear: I had some definite growing pains yesterday and had to take more breaks than usual. also had some unusual discomfort around there, but gone now.
nighttime is getting hard too. my hips hurt so bad by morning, from switching sides and not being able to be on my back or front - man I miss tummy sleeping
Here's to the halfway mark though!
And wish me luck, as we're putting our house on the market in a couple weeks... hoping to sell and buy before baby, without getting too crazy - but with two 5 year olds, a dog, a husband, and baby on the way, I think my sane days are just over!

Looks like I'm going to be the last one finding out the sex of our baby. November 11th cannot come soon enough! I have no clue how I got through 40 weeks of not knowing last time. The suspense is killing me.
Fingers crossed that we get to join team blue!

@Alivoo01: ugh...thats how all of my scares have been...the minute I get to the hospital its a-okay and I feel silly! Glad all is well!
@momtimes3: I really only feel her regularly at night when I lay down...its very sporadic and not reliable otherwise!
@Lilbear: I dont know what it is but my ladybits feel very achy lately...not pleasant!
@sbbs3: good luck with the house stuff. We listed our house when DD was 4 mos and everyone told me we were crazy. Moved at 5 mos (in with my dad) and renovated our new house completely and moved again at 7 mos...it was a bit crazy but totally worth it!!!
wonderful olive / 19353 posts
@Lilbear: I've been feeling some pressure in my lady parts which is a bit worrisome since I don't recall feeling that until later in my pregnancy but who knows! I also have been getting some cramping in the lower belly area that comes and goes.
@sbbs3: I still tend to sleep on my back, unintentionally. I start off on my side then I wake up and it's like oops! And I turn back on my side. Sleeping on my side is so unnatural for me. I'm normally a belly sleeper also!
Good luck with the selling of your home and procuring a new one! We did this when DS was 7 months old. We sold our house within 24 hours and was on a mad hunt/dash for a new home since the buyer wanted to close in 2 weeks! We somehow managed it and it was a tizzy!
@Loscato: At least we're in November now! Fingers crossed you get your team blue!

@Alivoo01: WOW! how did you manage to find something and move out in a matter of 2 weeks? I'm a first time home buyer in the middle of the process now, and I can't even imagine having to rush like that! Hard to picture now that I'm going through it myself
grapefruit / 4545 posts
@Alivoo01: I definitely think I am having braxton hicks this time around! I feel them mostly in the middle of the night.
And we also sold our house the first day it was listed...we had been looking for a month with no luck...we didnt buy a house until 2 weeks after we signed the contract to sell - I was terrified!!!
@leighleigh: you can also have all different kinds of closing terms. We closed on X and did not move until 2 weeks later - we rented the house back from the buyers for two weeks.
wonderful olive / 19353 posts
@leighleigh: lots and lots of searching on Zillow and the MLS site. Once we found our house, I was on the phone/emailing our lender responding to questions and providing documents 24/7 pretty much. It was a huge fiasco and many sleepless nights. Even the rep helping me was like wow! I've never funded a loan this fast, ever! They were great to work with and I couldn't praise them enough.
@Mrs D: I was afraid there would be a gap between closing our 1st home and our new home because we had no where to go! Friends offered up their apartments/homes for us to crash, but I didn't want to deal with moving all our stuff to storage then moving it out of storage and into the new home. Moving once is a headache enough as is!

Happy Monday ladies!!!
Hope everyone had a good weekend...its fall here for sure now so we spent a lot of time doing yard work...good for us Kate things raking and bagging leaves is awesome!
I made crazy progress in her toddler room (its ready for taping and paint...taping next weekend - painting next work week) and got a cute Christmas DIY project done - Felt Christmas Tree...so amazing!! (I'll post a pic in a separate post).
Did some Christmas shopping online with the great Vets Day sale at Carters/OKBG...good deals...jammies for all 5 kiddos on my list plus some clothes for my youngest nephew for $70!
Plus - I think I am finally settled on some bedding for nursery #2...
Thinking I will be doing just the cream bumpers with some cream tone or gold tone sheeting...will add some pops of color with pink on the walls/shades...
phew...I'm tired from the productive weekend!!!
nectarine / 2115 posts
@Mrs D: looks great! Look at you go!
We spent the weekend about as lazily as you can with a toddler running around. We are all recovering from colds, though, so it was well-deserved rest. Family arrives in 10 days, though, so it's time to hit the ground running and whip this house into shape!
On the baby/front, we THINK we have settled on a name! We are leaning towards Oliver Ford M. Ford is in honor of someone and Oliver we just both like. Our daughter was even able to say Ollie (pronounced it like Ah-wee... SO CUTE)!
apricot / 451 posts
@Mrs D: I've been seeing the felt free project all over Facebook lately! How do you get the ornaments to stick? It was my understanding that toddlers can decorate and redecorate the tree repeatedly, but I can't figure out how that works and none of the dyi tutorials (that I have seen) have addressed that!
@mrsrain: I LOVE the name Oliver/nn Ollie!!!! I would've pushed hard for it, but I have a niece named Olive, which is far too similar.
nectarine / 2115 posts
@Lilbear: yay! We aren't telling people IRL yet, so it's nice to get a positive reaction!
As for the felt, I think felt clings to felt pretty easily? Like in church/school when they use a felt board, they just stay on. But maybe it's a specific kind of felt?
grapefruit / 4545 posts
@Lilbear: @mrsrain: felt sticks to felt no problem!!! I was kind of surprised...but it does - thats why I have it hanging on my door so I could test it. So the kiddos will be able to put it up and take it down over and over again! It was SO easy...I cut the tree out (free hand/folded the felt in half); used a glass from the kictchen to cut the ornaments...free handed the oval ones and the star; then cut some squares/rectangles for the presents. I decided to "decorate" some of them - I used some fabric glue to adhere the decor! So easy!
@mrsrain: I think Oliver is a GREAT name too - I love classic names! Plus adorable how DD said it!
wonderful olive / 19353 posts
@Mrs D: Boring is good during pregnancy! lol
@sailgrl18: Congratulations on your lil boy!!!
@Mrs D: The tree looks great! And that bedding is adorable. I think pops of color will be great against the more muted colors.
And I love how toddlers think certain chores are so much fun! Like sweeping, picking up leaves, etc. To always have the innocence and enthusiasm for chores as they get older... lol
@mrsrain: Oliver Ford - so cute! And even better it's an ode to someone! ah-wee... aww!!!

Man I think I need gold to keep up with this thread! I fell MIA for a while....
Has anyone had to have an echocardiogram for the baby? My LO was curled up in a ball, facing my posterior, and I have anterior placenta so I have to do a repeat anatomy scan and an echo b/c I have a family history of severe cardiac issues in utero (I've been told it was random and not genetic, but they are exercising caution I guess).
Just curious if anyone's been there before. I'm due 3/16 and it's a girl to join my older son!

@sailgrl18: congrats on another boy!
@mrsrain: Love the name Oliver and Ollie is such a cute nickname.
@Mrs D: That bedding is gorgeous. I was just looking at PBs selections too. And I love the tree! My mom had sent me the link to that after seeing it on FB and I need to decide if I'm ambitious enough to take it on, as I think DS would love it.
@reverie: I had a fetal echocardiogram with my DS. He had a high nuchal translucency measurement and although a MaterniT21 came back clear, large NTs can correlate with heart defects. We saw a MFM specialist for ultrasounds every 4 weeks after the NT scan, and had the fetal ecg sometime in the mid-20 week range. Ultimately everything was fine and DS is healthy. The fetal ecg was just like a very long ultrasound if I recall! I hope your baby girl cooperates for the next anatomy scan!
We had our anatomy scan today, too. Everything looks good so far with our baby girl. Such a contrast to last time where I had so many ultrasounds and tests! Did anyone else get 3d/4d images at the 20 week? Ours are a little creepy!

@MoreCoffee: Thanks for that
Due to her position everyshot of my kid falls into highly creepy. The best picture I have is of her leg.... Not very photogenic so far!

@reverie: Congrats on your lil girl! Hoping the echo is just for extra due diligence and all is fantastic with her!
My 20 week one resulted in 2 money shots and a spine pic. Not very exciting at all.

@Mrs D: Wow, you were busy! But what a good feeling to make progress on so many things!
@mrsrain: Oliver is adorable! It's definitely on my list, but I'm not sure my husband is a fan.
@reverie: We had to have one with B, because he had a weird heartbeat on the Doppler one day. Like others have said, it's just a long ultrasound with a focus on the heart (at least, as long as I'm thinking of the right thing). Ours turned out to be nothing, fingers crossed yours does as well!
@MoreCoffee: We didn't get any images at our 20 week scan, I was so disappointed! I thought for sure they'd print us one, but nothing. I agree with you that the 3D images are creepy, though.
We had a busy weekend, but not productive busy, just entertaining a toddler busy. Took him into the city for a big agricultural winter fair - lots of goats, horses, and enormous pumpkins. The highlight for B, though, was a display of Airstream trailers for sale. "Big bus! Big bus!" He dragged me into it, settled down at the table, and I thought we were going to have to live there. Every time I said "Ok, time to go!" he said "I want more big bus!"
Anybody else narrowing in on names and want to share? We've got a list but it's all pretty up in the air - I like Greyson and Lincoln, my husband is a big fan of Thomas.
apricot / 451 posts
@erinbaderin: we haven't had much luck on the name front. The only name we both like is Finnegan (nn Finn). We aren't sold on it being our top choice just yet though.
He likes Bryce and Austin.
I like Lucian, Nolan and Lochlan.
kiwi / 661 posts
@Lilbear: I feel in love with the name Finn before I found out I was having a girl. It was hard to shake since it was the only name that stood out for me. I liked Finn more than Finnegan so I was going to just go that route (my oldest is Max not Maxwell soooo maybe I just like nicknames as names!)
kiwi / 661 posts
@erinbaderin: Man. It's bad but with a repeat anatomy scan and the echo I'm dreading my bills I wish the baby was born in the same year as all this junk in terms of insurance. I guess that Monday is going to be a long day of sitting half dressed with goop all over.
My little girl is officially (like I bought personalized christmas stocking official so no going back) Olivia Grace
grapefruit / 4545 posts
@MoreCoffee: It was truly a very easy project...I am pretty crafty and love to DIY but this was just cutting. I did it during DD's two naps this weekend! I highly recommend it!
@reverie: Congrats on the girl...hopefully she will cooperate for the next anatomy scan and all is well!!!
@Alivoo01: right? I wish I enjoyed raking leaves...
@erinbaderin: Sounds like a fun weekend!!! DH and I struggle BIG time over names! It took us a long time to settle on Kate... Here is my short list: Grace, Brook, Caroline, Abigail, Gabrielle, Clara and Victoria. All the women in my family (my sisters and mom) all share the middle name Lynn...so it will likely go with that (like Kate) unless DH shows strong opposition. So far he has said Allison and Mary. And he hates all of mine except Abigail...
wonderful olive / 19353 posts
@erinbaderin: We're having a girl so we decided on Riley (although we're debating on spelling it Riley vs Rylie). I did a poll on HB and 99% of the people said Riley and that Rylie looked like a typo.
If we were going to have a boy, we were debating between Connor or Tyler.
That's so cute he had so much fun with the "big bus"!
@reverie: I had the same thought on the birth being in a different year than (majority of) my pregnancy!! AND my deductible is lower by $200 next year than this. Don't get me wrong, I'm so happy we're pregnant right now, but in terms of bills and what not - arg. lol
Olivia Grace is so pretty!!!
