@pastemoo: @MsMini: I am a bit nervous about our dog as well! We have a BAD Shiba Inu,... and when I saw bad I mean the worst behaved dog ever. He has been fine with babies and toddlers whenever they come over, but he is very bad and obeying and that makes me nervous.
@volksgirl64: I have been using Bio Oil, but I am pretty sure it doesn't work! I know they say that strech marks are mostly genetic, but I wish there was a magic cream out there that really really worked!
@LAGS: My doctor is very strict about weight gain for some reason. She told me she likes her patients to gain 20-25 lbs...but all the books that I have say people of "normal" weight pre-preg should gain 25-35. I am at 20 or so right now, so I think I will cross over 25 lbs by a pound or two. by the end. I wonder why my doctor gave me such a small window?
@blushink: LUCKY! Only 8 lbs? Man, you will be in your pre-pregnancy size IN NO TIME! You will probably walk right out of the hospital with all your weight gone!
Last night I started to put away all of the shower goodies and let me tell you, this baby has SO. MUCH. STUFF. She especially has ridiculous amounts of socks, fluffy blankets, and headbands and hats! Like dozens of each! I honestly don't even know what to do with it all...

@Mrsdaredevil: Ha! I hope so, but I gained all my weight in the last 6 weeks pregnant with my first. So hopefully that won't happen with this one.

Wow you guys are all chat this week, it's great finding so many new posts to read every time I come back!
I'm having trouble thinking about anything other than birth right now, even dreamt about going in to be induced! I'm going to be super vigilant on my eating for the next few weeks, if I don't gain anything- which really would be me losing quite a bit, to make up for babas gaining weight- they might be a little more positive about me and section vs pushing. It's not that I actually wanted a section, as such, I just really really don't want an emergency section! I can't see that there are any fewer risks with an emergency CS than a planned one. Appara in my hosp, singleton births have a roughly 10% CS rate, twin births 50%. So if I'm so likely to need one, is it not best to just go straight to it rather than faffing about with labour and all of the exhaustion/tearing/loveliness that goes with it, and then having to go for the feckin section anyway?! Bah.
Will have to do some more research and see how it goes.
It's just a little bizarre she was so dismissive of the effect/importance of twin2's position- I've read that manually turning twin2 is more bloody sore than delivery itself!! Feck that for a game of skittles!
Sorry for the rant! Just stuck on a mental loop at the minute, at least I have lots of appointments still (fingers crossed) to thrash it out with them.
So jealous of so many of you being nearly ready for your new arrivals- we're waiting for DH to get paid for a big-ish job so we can get everything, payment is just a bit slower than expected. Boo self employed!

@aunt pol: I don't blame you feeling the way you do! Your reasoning makes perfect sense and it sounds as if they are all bu forcing you into a vaginal AND potential C section recovery! What friggen gives? Also, are their any unique Irish traditions for new babies?

@LAGS: That's horrible that your OB is giving you a difficult time about your weight! It sounds like you are right on track and your body is doing what it needs to do at this point.
I couldn't sleep this morning, so I was wide awake at 5:45. Around 9ish, I got a migraine and decided to sleep it off. I woke up around 1. I am a crazy sleeper these days! I get migraines and regular headaches a ton still, but I can manage for another month.
We meet a pediatrician in about an hour. This place has really good reviews. It would be great to find the place our son will be going to in the first shot.
I had a dentist appt today, and everyone there couldn't believe I am due in a month. They were saying how tiny I am. I know my height has a lot to do with it. I'm 5'11" and have the longest torso. The baby has a lot of room to spread out
Oh, and I was looking on Pinterest last night for ideas on the baby name that we want to put above the crib. We found this and think it would be so perfect for his room:

I love that we moved over to this site to update. It's way more active!

@Goldilocks1107: I hope my husband takes a lot from our classes too. He totally has his head in the clouds about everything... I think he's missing how real its all about to get in a few short weeks! I hope you're feeling better soon!
@cvbee: Once you get to put your diapers to use you'll have to let us know which ones you love. My brother will be cloth diapering and I'd love to be able to gift them a few good ones!
@duckduckkristen: Easter candy has been my weakness lately... why are there so many candy heavy holidays lately?!
@winniebee: Enjoy your MILs visit, how nice of her to take care of you like that!
So, there was nothing mentioned at all about my weight at my appointment today! I always weigh differently on their scale from home and their scale showed only a 1lb gain... I felt like I was going crazy or something? I think I really need to just start ignoring all this weight stuff. I'm on track to gain a normal amount and that should be the end of it!
Even better though was at our growth scan today they took a few 3D shots! I had no idea they would do that for us so it was an amazing surprise. I posted a picture over at WB. It was so amazing seeing her pudgy little face. She totally has DH's nose, so cute!! Otherwise, LO is looking good and somewhere around the 4lbs11oz range!

Whoops! I missed a whole page before my response... apparently it is busier over here
@Mrsdaredevil: Its weird you mention your Dr's small weight limit. My SIL was just given 20-22lbs which I thought was crazy?! She's this tiny thing I can't imagine only 20lbs.
@aunt pol: Hopefully during your next appointments you'll be able to either compromise or get a better explanation for the path they seem to be choosing. I totally get not wanting to have to deal with a 2-way recovery... I think one or the other is plenty!
@marriedandlovingit: I hope you're feeling better soon. I couldn't imagine dealing with persistent migraines I love the name decal too! Its so boyish and playful, very cute!

Well, I got out of the house a bit today to do some disability and mat leave paperwork at the hospital. I also found out that since I am on disability prior to delivering I get to stay on it for 6 weeks after delivery, which is awesome, because disability pays about double what EI mat leave pay is. This disability thing looks better and better all the time (LOL).
@cvbee: We hadn't thought about getting a crib tent, but we saw it while browsing a baby store liquidation, and it seemed like a good idea. I am hoping we don't need it, but it could just come in handy!
@blushink: My LO has been head down for ages as well. He/she has tried to flip once recently, but only got part way around, then I felt him/her slide right back into position.
@volksgirl64: I can definitely sympathize on the tiredness, my last couple shifts before being off really showed me how much less I can handle. Since I have been home I have slept in, and then taken a nap every day (I am such a slacker now).
@duckduckkristen: I am definitely more short of breath lately, also, my baby likes to boot me in the diaphragm, and when he/she does that I get totally winded! So mean of him/her!
@aunt pol: I would be pretty upset as well if I were you as well! I also am not very ready for baby, but in our case it is due to renos and my DH working so much lately. I am really hoping to be ready after my shower (which is April 14th - 37 weeks). If baby comes before then, we do have a plan for getting all the essentials we need ready and in place at least!
@marriedandlovingit: That decal is cute! I wish I didn't look so large and in charge! I was measuring 38 weeks at 33 weeks, and every thins I head to the hospital for something (like today when I went to do disability/mat leave paperwork) people look at me like I am going to push out the baby in the lobby.

@Nskillet: You just put the exact words on how I feel!! I'm going to have to write that down somewhere for my next confrontation...;)
@LAGS: That's really cool you got the 3d pic, great to see facial detail! You're right about the weight- once you're within a healthy range that should be enough about it. You'd think they were looking for something to stress you out!
@MsMini: It's great that your extended time off work won't put financial strain on you, there's clearly a lot to be said for the Canadian system:) We still have some reno work to do, but DH has a nice window of time off now so once the money comes in its action stations. It must be hard on you now that you've extra time at home just when he's hardly there at all!

@Nskillet: Can't think of any specific traditions now, I'll ask around and see what I find! The only one I can think of and it's more religious than cultural is that often people will baptise baby very soon after birth if there's any health issues for them- like a few days after birth. Most (catholic) mums I know honestly believe babies are stronger once they've been baptised.

@winniebee: Wow, 4? Yeah, they really aren't bad. It's like your first pap sucks so much more than later ones.
@Mrsdaredevil: I don't know why you got such a small window. Back in the day, they said under 20 pounds, and it turns out that isn't enough for everyone.
I didn't get a window, I just got "25 pounds" and now... I gained several pounds since Friday (WTF?) and I'm up 32.2 pounds at 32 weeks. This blows.
@aunt pol: Aww, that is so frustrating! Maybe when you do get to the hospital, they'll do the c-section--they just don't want to guarantee it or schedule it? Good luck!
@marriedandlovingit: Sounds like a terrible day! Hope you feel better soon!

Last night it was 'labour and delivery' topic at our prenatal classes. We saw a birth video of a chick who didn't use an epidural, but did get some drugs during the 'transition'. The whole process looked totally agonizing and like it took such a long time. I'm really really on the fence about the epidural now. Like, how will I know if I can handle it without one until I'm in that moment? Le sigh.
On a more positive note, I don't have the crazy urge to pee (even after I just peed) anymore...maybe baby got off my bladder? I do think baby dropped a little, as my belly now seems to rest more on my legs when I sit.
Going to miss your million posts today, as I have supply teaching. (Bad class of grade 8's that I've been avoiding since they were in grade 4!). Hope you all have a great day!
@LAGS: cool 3D picture!!!! We don't have one of those types of machines in our town.

@duckduckkristen: I've noticed breathing issues when I'm working out - it doesn't take much to get me breathless. And walking up stairs is HARD! As for discomfort, it happens to me when I yawn. I have to sit up really tall to get enough space to take that deep of a breath.
Last night, DH really ticked me off. I asked him to handle finding a daycare (a few months ago) and we've interviewed one in-home provider, but I want to meet with a few others before making a decision. Although he agrees with me, he's being such a whiner about how irritating it is to find other options, make the call and find out there's no room for infants when we need childcare. As if everything I've handled (finding a pediatrician, signing us up for all the childbirth classes, finding him an infant CPR class to take, AND BEING PREGNANT) have been a walk in the park.
I finally snapped when he made this huge sigh when I asked him to call the 4 providers I had found (maybe he thought if he dragged his feet enough, we'd just go with the first person?!?). I told him that although it sucks to have to call all these people, it's not like everything I've taken care of has been a walk in the park. That pretty much shut him up. When I went to bed, he was looking for more people to call.

@Goldilocks1107: Men don't get it sometimes! It sounds like he finally 'got it'? Let's hope so.
Thanks ladies for the comments on the name over the crib idea! I hope we can get it done. I cannot find anyone that does it. My husband will probably wind up doing it. He just needs to find time at work to get it done. I would be happy paying someone to get it done so it is one less thing for him to do.
We met with a pediatrician yesterday. We are going to go with that practice. We loved the place and they are everything I was looking for in a good practice for our little guy. Boring technical info aside (aka all of the reasons why we chose the practice!), it's like a toy store for kids. They have toys, stickers, and flavor ice for the kids. When I went to a pediatrician as a kiddo, we got lollipops :P.

@Mrsdaredevil: People can't resist getting frilly cute things for girls, can they?? Sounds like she will be stlyin like her mama!
@aunt pol: Rant away! Do you feel like your doctors listen to your concerns? I hope you can have a dialogue with them and reach agreement about the best way to approach the births. So frustrating.
@marriedandlovingit: I say take the sleep when you can get it!! I'm amazed that I can go to sleep with my husband around 10 and still sleep until 8 uninterrupted (since being at home). Goes to show how tired we get these days....and I'll I'm doing is lying around gestating!
@LAGS: Glad the growth scan went well! Isn't the 3D amazing!? They did one when we were in the hospital and at first I was worried he would look like an alien....but he was adorable and pudgy and I think he looks like DH : ) I'll have to check out your pics on WB.
@MsMini: Lucky lucky re: disability! How are all of your numbers doing these days? I learned that my firm's disability policy doesn't kick in for 60 days....which would take me well beyond bedrest and my due date. So, either I use all of my vacation/sick and then go unpaid until birth....or start working from home. I plan to start working regularly from home next week - not full time and nothing stressful - and then sprinkling in vacation and sick so that I can get paid full time until birth. Also, will be cleared to go back to work around 36-37 wks.
@pastemoo: that's so bizarre that they gave you a set number to gain - how could anyone possible do that?? Also, FYI my weight really fluctuates lately. At one OB at 29w, 4 days, I was up 21 lbs....but then a week later was only up 19 lbs (confirmed on two different scales). You are eating healthy, working out and look great, so *try* not to stress....
@cvbee: Sigh. Not to scare you, but my stint on the delivery floor last week (YES they actually had me in a delivery room!) was eye opening. Let's just say that the woman next door to me chose not to have an epidural. Power to anyone who can do that, but it won't be me!!
@Goldilocks1107: Seriously, men can be so thick sometimes! As if the gestating part is not hard enough on us?? I think part of it is they think they have *so* much time left to figure things out until the birth. Haha, not so much! My whole hospital experience turned DH into an insta-dad and he's now in super-prepare mode.....but was NOT before. Not that I would wish that on anyone.
@marriedandlovingit: Sounds like an awesome pediatrician's office! We went off of convenience and referrals and due to my situation won't get a chance to meet ours, so it's great you will be able to!

MIL's cooking fest yesterday was out of control - we are FULLY stocked for at least a week - woo hoo! (Last night was turkey dinner, she also brought chicken enchilladas, home made mac n cheese, chicken/rice casserole, sauce and meatballs, eggrolls....allll homemade of course).
Today I did some little "errands" from the couch and my mom and 3 year old niece are coming to visit. Aaaand, tonight marks 1 week from when I went to the hospital. Which means LO has been cooking for an additional whole week. I feel really good about that.
My OB doesn't want to see me this week since things are stable she'd rather I just rest at home. Next week will have another fetal survey to check in on LO and make sure he's growing big and strong. Frankly I'd rather do that than get another cervical check so fine by me : ) Also, my belly button is on.the.verge. Nothing else to report from the chaise!

@winniebee - that must feel great to have a stocked freezer! That's something we need to work on (you know, after we buy a freezer).
@marriedandlovingit - glad you found a ped you like! That can be difficult.
@goldilocks - DH's can be frustrating. I'm glad he was getting with the program towards the end. I know we'd never attend classes or anything if I didn't set it up!
I am achey lately and I'm not sure what's causing it. I'm having pains in my hip that started yesterday AFTER I saw the chiropractor. It feels almost like my hip is trying to pull out. And I'm also having pains across my abdomen (right where belly switches to nether regions) that I'm not sure what's causing them. I figure it's either pressure or perhaps something to do with BMs because that hasn't been the easiest process lately.
I see my OB on Friday so I'll bring it up but it's nothing like contractions so unless something else is concerning, it's probably just the wonderful aches & pains of being 32 weeks pregnant!
It's probably time to stop carrying DD around, I'm sure that's not helping any.

@winniebee: Glad everything continues to go well!
DH definitely thinks we have all the time in the world, so I told him about your situation to really drive home the point that Baby Girl could arrive ANY MINUTE.
Finished my hospital play list last night - I told DH that L&D can only last 7.2 hours, because then I'm out of music
I also bought some PJs to wear at the hospital that are a little more guest-appropriate and comfy than the hospital gowns (and show a little less butt). I figure I'll use the hospital gown for L&D and sleeping, and my comfy PJs for during the day.
Almost done with everything I can pack for the hospital bag. I think I'll then set aside my "daily use" items in a separate container so when it's "go time" we just need to empty the container into my bag and away we go.

@Goldilocks1107: sigh. I think men have a really hard time understanding the physical and mental stress we are under. I know my husband tries, but there's just no way they can possibly get it.
@winniebee: glad to hear everything is going good and he's still tucked in snug! My belly button is officially a half outtie. It's enough where I can see it popping out under my shirt, but a little part of it is still an innie.
For those of you that have had contractions, what do they feel like? I've felt the braxton hicks before, but now at 37 weeks I've been having a lot of belly hardening in addition to period like cramping in my lower stomach and back. Are these still considered braxton hicks? They aren't regular or painful enough to take my breath away, but they def. aren't comfortable. I'm just confused because all the books I've read say BH are painless.
hostess / wonderful grape / 20803 posts
@Goldilocks1107: Glad that my story can be of some benefit!
@jennylynn: Sound like contractions to me - either BH or mild contractions. My BH started out as just hardening/clenching but then progressed to hardening/clenching plus some lower uterine cramping and came every 5 minutes - those are what the doctor considered actual contractions..
So in my haste last week, I THREW together a hospital bag consisting of cell phone chargers, ipad, kindle, magazine, bananas, water, loose fitting yoga pants, long tank, open cardigan, 2 pairs undies, tooth brush, hair brush, face wash, moisturizer. I only wore a jonnie while actually in the hospital and the little socks with the grips on them that they give you. I wore my outfit home and did eat the bananas and drank the water and used the ipad/kindle. Next time, I'll add shampoo/conditioner, camera, ipad speaker, an extra pair of yoga pants and top for me, and of course baby's outfits.

@goldilocks oh men, can't live with them, can't live without them. Why are they so predisposed to hating the phone?! It's not that tough to make a phone call when in a few weeks I have to shoot a human out of my private parts!
@winniewolf I cannot tell you how happy I am that you're relaxing well and baby boy is continuing to stay put. I hope your visit with your mom and niece are lovely. Do you know when/if you're approved for your baby shower?
Anyone else officially getting less and less sleep? I'm waking up several times a night with hip pain/pee pee urges. The snuggle seems to officially have stopped working but I haven't tried ditching it yet.
I officially have no idea if I've had any Braxton hicks or what a contraction feels like. I feel baby movement which causes my tummy to like tighten up but I can't tell if it's just the baby or
A contraction. I don't have cramping, just some discomfort when I really have to pee! She feels so heavy when I've got to go lol.

@Nskillet: I've been sleeping like crap lately. I started taking walks on my days off though and that seems to help me sleep a little better. I'd love just one more night of continuous sleep without the hip/back pain, and frequent bathroom trips before the baby comes. Sometimes I have to get up and it literally hurts to open my eyes I'm so tired!

@jennylynn: I know - guys just don't get it. Like when I mentioned that my car had an issue that needed to be checked out and I didn't want to deal with the shop (we've had lots of problems with my car and I'm so over it). I basically said "I was hoping you could take care of it." He shot that idea down pretty quickly and I think I just about started to cry. Oh well.
@winniebee: We still need a going home outfit. I looked through the current 3 month wardrobe and didn't have anything I wanted to pack. I'm hoping that I'll get some cute outfits at one of my showers. Otherwise I'll get a newborn and 3 month sized outfits and see which one fits.
@Nskillet: Good luck with the peds appointment! I don't think I've had any BH contractions yet either. Just peeing all the time. I was thinking about putting a note on my desk that says "If I'm not here, check the bathroom."

@Goldilocks1107: Good for you for telling your husband how you felt. I really think guys just don't get it (bless their hearts). I have been having the hardest time with my DH lately. He keeps bringing up how I am going to start working out 1-2 weeks after birth, and even asked me if I wanted him to go reactivate my gym membership yesterday so it would be ready when baby comes. Ummm helllo? I am going to need to recover! He basically thinks that the whole 6 week recovery thing is BS and I should get in the gym ASAP. I mean, I get that he wants me to be in shape again but it is sort of hurting my feelings! I don't want to be pressured into working out when I don't feel up to it. He obviously doesn't realize what a toll labor and delivery takes on a woman's body because he also brought up going out to dinner on our way home from the hospital after we have baby. Oh, and the other day he asked if while he was still on his bonding leave (6 weeks) if I would want to help him landscape the back yard and build a brick wall. ugghhhhhh
@Nskillet: I am definitely getting less and less sleep. Luckily I don't have work in the mornings, so I can kind of take naps throughout the day to make sure I get fully rested.
We have an appointment with a pediatrician tomorrow evening. This gal comes highly recommended and is only three blocks from our house. I hope she works out! I am really looking for a ped who is breastfeeding friendly. My GF had a ped who basically shoved formula down her LO's throat, and I want one who will encourage me to keep at it even when the going gets rough!
Got everything from the baby shower put away and organized in the nursery. I even started packing the diaper bag for LO! And the nursery is FINALLY DONE! All I have to do now is finish the crib bumper which has taken me months. When that is done I can post some pics on WB for you all to see it.

@Goldilocks1107: the thing I've had the most trouble getting my husband to understand is how uncomfortable I've been lately. I was complaining the other day about how bad my back hurt and he said "why?" Really? Strap a bowling ball to your belly and do a 12 hour shift at work 3 times a week, and still manage to clean the house and run errands on your days off and see how your back feels. Poor guy. I know he tries to get it, but sometimes a little extra pampering and sympathy would go a long way! That and he doesn't seem to undersatnd that just because my due date is April 18th, the baby can still come anytime now! I packed a hospital bag last week and he wondered why it was packed already. Gotta love him!
clementine / 959 posts
@Nskillet: I'm definitely waking up a lot more to pee or because I had a totally strange dream. I can sleep in though so I've just been sleeping later to make up for it.
@jennylynn: It took my husband a really long time to understand that it hurt my belly when he laid on me or squeezed me and that he can't do those things anymore. I'd YELL "ow" and he would think I was overreacting. I don't think there is any way for them to understand how we feel, no matter how badly they want to.
I had my growth scan today and baby is 5 lbs 6 oz (65th percentile) and measuring 6 days ahead. Doctor said he's tall too (must be taking after mommy) and that everything looks great! I know it's stupid, but I kept worrying that he was too small since my belly is nowhere near as big as most people's and everyone keeps asking where I'm hiding the baby.
Afterwords I stopped by Target for some nursing bras, tops, and clothes to hide the belly pudge this summer and was surprised at how much decent fitting and inexpensive stuff they had for nursing!

@Mrsdaredevil: Wow. I think you win the Daft Man prize! My first thought is to make him watch the most graphic, bloody childbirth video you can find- don't watch it yourself, obviously- and see if that opens his eyes a bit. Help build a wall after having a baby?! Is he on drugs! Sorry for laughing but if he was on telly he'd be funny.

@Mrsdaredevil: Seriously landscape and workout?!? I think your OB needs to have a nice chat with him and explain that you'll be too busy passing golf-ball sized blood clots and regaining your ability to poop without fear
@jennylynn: After our post-partum class, DH asked if I was nervous about everything (see above sentence about clots - ick). I told him no - I've had plenty of time to read up on all this stuff, so it wasn't surprising to me. Then I asked him and he said "yeah, I'm nervous about what happens after birth - I've had the same amount of time to read all this and haven't done it." So, at least he knows that he's completely oblivious??@duckduckkristen: Did you find nursing bras at Target? I need to get one or two and didn't even think to check there. Are they with the regular lingerie section or in with the maternity stuff?

@Mrsdaredevil: I am not so much worried about the dog, he is big (140 pounds) but very gentle. I think it is just wise to always monitor dog/baby interaction. I have let this dog take pieces of food from my lips he is super gentle. The worst he would do is accidentally knock over/step on the baby because he is clumsy! I can't believe your husbands expectations, I think someone needs to smack him over the head ... with a frying pan. He obviously has no idea whatsoever what a toll giving birth puts on your body, not to mention the toll having a newborn who needs you 24/7 is going to be. I hope for your case he wises up once the baby is born ... Does he know anyone who has had a baby before who could maybe give him a reality check?
@aunt pol: The Canadian system is good, but most of the good news has been because my job has amazing benefits. I am shocked at how good the benefits are actually. This is the first time I have used any prolonged sick/disability benefits, and it has been awesome. Our Staff health person is an amazing advisor, and I think that makes all the difference really.
@Nskillet: I hope your paediatrician meeting goes well! I don't think everyone gets braxton hicks, I think you would know them if you were having them, I definitely think they are easily noticeable in my case.
@winniebee: I am going to sit DH down and make a list of our hospital bag stuff, so in a rush we have a guide of what to throw together. I still am not planning on packing my bag until after my next trip to my hometown (at 37 weeks). After we get home I will do laundry and pack the bag finally.
@duckduckkristen: Glad to hear you had a good scan! I wish we had a target here in Canada ... they are supposed to start popping up next year I think.

@Goldilocks1107: hahaha! That's funny! I found a nursing bra at target and it was in the regular bra section. Also, if you haven't already, open a registry there (even if you don't use it) and they give you packet at the front desk that has a book of coupons in it, and a couple are for 10% off of nursing bras. I got one when I originally registered, and they even sent me a coupon for a 20$ giftcard if I showed them that I opened a baby registry, plus another book or random baby related coupons!

I forgot to write about my daily stuff! My Mom called and is going to come out tomorrow and friday to hang out with me and keep me company/help me with stuff for a couple days. She feels bad that I am stuck at home while DH is working like crazy, so it is awesome to get some company. She is also excited to do her first highway trip in her Valentines day present from my dad (a Porsche Boxer!). I am so excited for my Mom, she has always wanted a Porsche, so my Dad bought her one for Valentines day, so she could have a proper 'grandma car'. I am excited to ride around in it while she is here!
My Mom is going to help me clean out the guest room and prep it for painting so DH can tackle that on the weekend, we might also do my ruler growth chart if we have time.
I also got my wall decal for the nursery today, and I am officially intimidated, that thing came in about 500 pieces! We are going to try to paint this weekend, then let the paint cure for a week, so Easter weekend we will tackle the decal ... it might just take all weekend (LOL).

@Goldilocks1107: Target has a section in the lingerie department with a lot of nursing bras & sleep bras that they don't show online. The unlined, non-underwire ones are really comfy and have a good amount of support.
@jennylynn: wish I had known that!

does anyone know what sort of stuff to bring for baby in the hospital bag? I am not sure what stuff the hospital provides and what I should bring from home!
clothes? Cute hats? Blankets? Diapers? Bottles?

@Mrsdaredevil: The hospital will provide diapers, dry wipes (you wet them with water from the tap), bottles and formula (if needed). They do have clothes for baby to wear while they are there, as well as swaddling blankets. I however plan on dressing my baby in our own clothes after the first bath, because hospital laundry detergent is horrible, and babies get rashy easily. I am planning on bringing 3-4 sleepers and swaddle blankets, as well as a going home outfit (I am packing for 3 days just in case I end up with a c-section). Not all hospitals have socks and scratch mitts, so you might want to bring those as well.

Ugh, so got some annoying news from my OB this evening. The hospital has officially said I need weekly non-stress testing from week 34 until I deliver (begins next week). The most frustrating is the girl at my office says "make sure you eat something really sticky, sweet, and yummy for breakfast to get the baby moving". I remind her gently that Im diabetic and am prohibited from eating those foods. She says to eat toast with jelly and then slam a huge glass of orange juice? Like really?! My dietician at the hospital said never to listen to someone telling you to eat sugar to get a baby moving. Im so frustrated/confused. The girl at my office then reminded memmy baby is in the 95th percentile with a chuckle. Thanks, I know shes big ok!! . Im just disappointed/stressed I need all these extra appts even though im working so hard at keeping my diabetes in check through diet. It also really bothers me that my doctors office wants me to give myslef a high glucose reading for my already large baby so they dont have to keep me hooked up to the non stress test monitor for longer than 20 minutes. Am I being hormonal?
Ontop of this I got a call from my towns victims advocacy to tell me about the guy who hit us in our car accident back in October when we were 11 weeks pregnant. Theyre telling us if we want maximum sentencing for the guy who hit us we have to make a court appearance. DH and I just want what the system is going to give this guy and put this all behind us. I dont want this guy seeing our faces or prolonging our involvement in this accident. We didnt have serious long lasting injuries and just want it to remain in the past.
What a depressing night!!

@Nskillet: Yeah, I definitely wouldn't be eating toast with jelly and OJ with GD! I always keep in mind most of the office girls are receptionists with no medical training whatsoever, so they really don't know what they are talking about. I will only talk to the nurse or OB at my doctors office, never the receptionist when I have questions/concerns. The weekly NST's are a pain in the butt as well, I am surprised that my OB hasn't gotten me started on them considering I am GD and PIH, but she has me monitoring myself so much at home, it might be overkill. You are under no obligation to go to court, so I would just skip it, sometimes I doubt that making an appearance will make a difference to the sentence anyways.
