@Mae: I'm glad it did because when I read it back, my explanation was super "wordy" lol
Anyone else just feel like their brains are total mush!?!?!

Re: membrane sweeps -- my doctor has never mentioned it for my last pregnancy or this one, so I always assumed she didn't do it. But, I'm wondering if it's because I was never dilated enough? Does anyone know how dilated you have to be to get one?
Also, Happy happy happy May!

@junebugmama: Yeah, heh, I never got to 2 last time until my water had broken and I had been in labor for like 14 hours.

@junebugmama: I can't believe they are still hanging out either! And yes to the mushy brain. My hormones are all over the place too.

@junebugmama: yep! total mush brains over here! I was supposed to work next week as well, but I decided a few weeks ago to make tomorrow my last day...mostly because my brain is much and I feel like I can't be very productive at work!

@twodoghouse: I love you saved by the bell reference. I can't believe doing your own toes is even an option!

I don't know if my brain is mush... maybe sorta. I am very distractible. And also I feel like my hormones have been nuts the last week, I'm all over the place emotionally.

I don't know if my brain is mush but I've definitely been a lot more emotional and having a really tough time dealing with DS the past couple days. DH worked late yesterday and I called him in tears and made him come home because DS was having a major tantrum and I could not deal with it. Today he wouldn't nap so I let him scream in his crib while I lay down on the couch. Bad mommy
kiwi / 619 posts
@skipra: i'm right there with you! Last night was much better, but the tantrums this week have been insane. Poor DH, because he had to deal with a screaming toddler, and then once she was in bed, he had to deal with an emotional wreck of a wife! I don't really know what to do other than let her "scream it out", because no amount of trying to talk to her/find out what's wrong accomplishes anything.

Another failed attempt at a membrane sweep here. Between tues afternoon and this morning DH and I have worked on the natural oxtyocin and prostaglandins, I've bounced and rocked on the ball... but no luck. Doc says I have begun to dilate but still not enough to do a sweep. Sunday at 6am it is, unless I somehow (luckily) go into labor on my own before then.
ETA: and yes my brain is mush and I'm often too tired to construct proper sentences.

Oh also, my belly is threatening stretch marks! Not days before my induction, nooooooo!
papaya / 10343 posts
@Glitter: "worked on the natural oxtyocin and prostaglandins" = best euphemism for sex ever. Also I totally feel you on stretch marks! I thought I was getting away without them, and yesterday after the shower I found 2! UGH. So close to the end and they start popping up? Really? Noooooooo lol
@skipra: @cookie_dough: You are good moms! I'm sorry your babes are being so difficult this week.
pomegranate / 3565 posts
@skipra: I understand. Honestly, DS hasn't really hit the bad tantrum phase, but by the time I get home, I'm so tired and have zero energy to play with him. My patience is also much lower. I hate that. Last night I had a little cry fest to DH about it. I was cuddling my little boy thinking of how I won't be able to pick him up after the c section. I won't see him as much when I'm in the hospital. His whole little life is about to change and he has no idea! It made me sad. I'm tired of being tired!

I got my stretch marks after I had DD, got it on muffin top/back fat, I was so bummed! They went away though, but still, I thought I was in the clear!
Well my other BIL and SIL announced they are preggo tonight! Due in Nov! Their first will be a year in Sept! So for DH and his bros, all having babies on 2014! Crazy! Other BIL/SIL are due in June! All second babies too! In 25m DHs parents will go from 0 to 6 grandkids!
Here is what I did tonight, baby laundry! I are dinner tonight too, here's hoping it doesn't keep me in the bathroom all night, bleh!
@Glitter: Sunday sounds so soon, it still doesn't seem like it's time for these babies to be arriving, despite the fact it's May!
@cookie_dough: @skipra: Sorry to hear about the fussy kiddos, DD was a nightmare tonight, she is so lucky she is cute

@twodoghouse: eeeee thinking about you! Hope induction goes well, and hope to hear an update on healthy babies and momma soon!

@Beebug: Thanks! We are settled in our room at the hospital, just waiting for the next steps. There was an emergency this morning so I'm not entirely sure when they'll get to me. I'm already in my fancy hospital garb though!

@twodoghouse: yay so excited for you!
@Mamasig: @cookie_dough: @skipra: I feel you. My DS has been trying lately too. I think he's getting his 2 yr molars early - what timing! He has also recently went from eating everything to being very picky. And any time I start to lose my patience I feel so bad about how much his little world is going to change. Poor baby!
@Beebug: hope your dinner stayed in! The clothes look so cute! My friend just returned my nb clothes so I need to sort and wash

@Glitter: hoping you go before Sunday but if not it's exciting to think baby will be here soon?
papaya / 10343 posts
@Beebug: oh my goodness... 2 kids in 14 months..?! that's a little scary haha. and omg cute clothes!
@twodoghouse: eeeeee soo excited for you!!
Whats everyone up to today? My to-do list for work is dwindling (yay! also knock on wood hah) so I think I'm going to have an easy-ish day. Contemplating going to yoga over lunch. I haven't been in about 6 weeks because it was getting sort of hard for me... but wondering if it might be worth it to go and see if it helps things along at all.....
nectarine / 2019 posts
@twodoghouse: Yay! how exciting. I can't wait to see your babies. Hoping for an amazing birth for you!
@Glitter: I'm hoping you've made some progress! I was checked yesterday and also have budged, but still not enough. GAH!
@Mae: My only plan is trying to get baby out. I've finally done everything that I "should" have done (packed bag, washed baby clothes, etc)
nectarine / 2019 posts
@Mae: I'm currently waddling around the neighborhood with a 32lb toddler strapped to my back. I'm sure I'm quite a site!

@junebugmama: lol I sort of feel like a spectacle on our nightly walks too. Esp because they seem to anger LO and she kicks me pretty hard and they also kick up my BH so towards the end there is a bit of belly-grabbing going on every time haha. I'm slightly concerned about yoga today for the same reason. Like I'm going to look silly trying to do some of this stuff at this point (it is not a prenatal yoga just regular class). But meh. gotta do whatcha gotta do!
pomegranate / 3917 posts
@Mae: I'm about to take dog for a walk, the pace I go isn't going to do much though, stupid knee!
I have an appt for blood and urine and health questionnaire stuff for the life insurance stuff from earlier in the week, currently fasting, and hungry! I wasn't up in the night with tummy troubles thankfully!
My Mom has today off and today we are going to sew curtains for the front room at our place. It's our main living space and currently four windows at the front of the room. I figure that won't be so awesome bf'ing wide open like that, so finally time to get some window coverings done!

@twodoghouse: good luck, so excited for you!! Can't wait for an update!
honeydew / 7230 posts
@junebugmama: Wow, you sound like superwoman baby wearing this far pregnant! Hope it kicks J3 into high gear in there!
@Mae: Dang good work on doing the yoga at this point too! Y'all are much more accomplished than me! Sometimes in the last week I've taken our dog for a hobbling "walk" down the sidewalk and back, haha.
@Beebug: We just got curtains for our back window yesterday for the same reason. We had decorative things up but I figured I might be sitting in the living room topless a lot and need extra coverage. We don't have neighbors in the back, but there is a daycare on the other side of our fence so I feel like I should try for some modesty.
My pitocin is in! I've been having contractions all morning so it's hard to tell if it's doing anything yet. It's not painful enough for me to try to walking or birth ball bouncing with all my cords yet, but hopefully soon. I was closer to 2 cm this morning and 90% effaced so hoping this isn't too bad and we can do both babies vaginally!

@Beebug: sounds like a fun day!
@twodoghouse: yay! sounds like things are well on their way!! Come on alice and blake! Make a fast and easy entrance to this world!

@Mae: Last day of work!!!!! My plan is to wrap up as much stuff as possible...and then load up my car with my boxes of crap that have been sitting in my office. We are having a lunch with my division and then we have a big staff meeting at 3h00, so I'm trying to cram the last bit of work in between these things!

@twodoghouse: Thinking of you! 2cm/90% sounds like a great place to start from! Come on, Alice & Blake!

@twodoghouse: Good luck!! can't wait to hear about your babies
@junebugmama: I can't believe you can still wear LO - I feel like I can barely balance myself with just my big belly!
yesterday I was about 1 centimeter dilated so things are getting started. I reallllyyy want him to come this weekend but I just don't have the feeling that it will happen. I also just don't want to work on Monday lol I am mentally checked out of here and to have to keep working next week I feel like I would be so unproductive. If he doesn't come before my next appt on Tuesday then we will talk about an end date then. Now that we are all moved in to the new house though all labor inducing methods will commence!!
pomegranate / 3350 posts
@twodoghouse: Good luck!!! Fingers crossed for a quick dilation and good delivery!
@mrsog: Hooray for finally being ready for baby! I feel like we have a few more things to take care of this weekend and then it's time to get baby out! Fingers crossed yours will come before Tuesday!
@junebugmama: All I can say is WOW and that is a good idea. Maybe I should pull out the Ergo and see if DS will tolerate it. We haven't used it since September!
Thanks everyone for all the support about my recent troubles with DS. I'm sure that it is a lack of sleep issue on both our parts. He sometimes stays up late babbling and rolling around in his crib and the past couple weeks has been getting up no later than 5:30. But last night after having no nap he passed out by 7:30 and slept until 7am! So far we're having a good day - walked to the library for sing-along this morning and then played outside until lunch and now he is napping. I'm thinking of taking advantage and napping too since I won't have that luxury for much longer. Nothing new on the baby front for me. I'm probably not dilated or effaced at all. I think the midwife will check me at my appointment next week and I can ask for a membrane sweep then, if it's even possible. I am officially now more pregnant that I ever got with DS. Yay?
papaya / 10343 posts
@mrsog: So glad you're feeling ready for him now! Also totally lol'd and agreed with your comment on work. Every time my boss asks me to do something annoying I stick it at the end of my to-do list and (not so) secretly hope I'm gone before I get around to it heh.
So, just got back from yoga and I survived it! I have to say, it actually felt really good and I'm kind of wishing I would've kept it up more than I have in the 3rd trimester. I had to do some modifications obviously but I felt like even just doing what I could do I got some really good stretching in and a light sweat going and I was glad I went. Only mishap was at one point the instructor sort of forgot I was pregnant and she instructed everyone to lay down on their stomachs. I went into cobra waiting to see what we would do next to see how I could modify and she's like no... on your stomach. And I"m like ummmmmm and she was like oh god sorry I forgot and everyone started laughing. So I felt like a little bit of a spectacle. lol. But oh well. Unfortunately did not immediately kick-start labor though But we did lots of hip stretching so maybe later. I am crampy now but I've been crampy on and off for a week or two so not fully attributing that to yoga.
persimmon / 1281 posts
@twodoghouse: thinking of you today and praying that all goes well!!!!
@Mae: crampiness is good! There's definitely some contracting happening down there so Fiona is starting her exit
I just lost a CHUNK of my mucus plug. Yesterday I saw some sign of it but wasn't sure... today, definitely! I know it can mean anything but it's still exciting!
papaya / 10343 posts
@Glitter: yay! i've been on the lookout for that too, but no dice. so gross and yet so exciting at the same time... lol
