@Glitter: lol on "the bees", DH knows HB as "preg boards" and you are my May Mommas! I have my Oct Mommas too from with DD!

I know with DD I didn't even update here when I went into labour/to hospital, no update until she was here, we will see how things go this time

@Beebug: yay for getting done up! I contemplated curling my hair today for our "date" but it was drizzly out today and i thought i'd just be annoyed if i got rained on haha. Oh well.

@Glitter: cute your husband even asked about updating us! lol My husband knows all about the bees and my may moms and i kept telling him all day today when I was checking in on TwoDogHouse's babes! But I don't think he'll be updating for me haha. I'm a phone addict though so I'd imagine if I have a slow early labor I'll be on here way more than I should just to distract myself! And post birth I'm sure DH or I will update Facebook at least pretty quick. We're pretty connected all the time haha

Speaking of... omg Fiona come ouuuutttttttt. lol. I'm starting to get really impatient. And I know I should chill because she's not even due until tomorrow. Let alone late. But I'm just done. Physically I'm still fine but I"m just ready to meet her already and I'm tired of symptom spotting. I was so crampy last night/today and it went nowhere. I kept hoping it would turn into legit contractions but no such luck. sigh. lol

@Glitter: good luck tomorrow! Try to sleep...if you can! I'll be thinking good labor thoughts for you

@Mae: I know how you feel and my due date isn't even until Wednesday! I've been crampy on and off since last night so now I'm getting so anxious.

So i may or may not have had a few real contractions tonight. I bet they'll go away but this time I'm mentally prepared at least.

Hi everyone! Our babies arrived this morning after a very interesting induction. After 3.5 hours of trying to push Alice out, I finally delivered her vaginally this morning. Unfortunately Blake's heart rate went a little berserk when Alice was out of the way, so minutes after delivering A it was decided to do am emergency C-section on B. Dr also realized that he had meconiun in his water, but luckily NICU checked him out and decided he could go to the post partum room with us. One interesting note in light of all the talk of big babies - my kids were so little! Two weeks ago the estimate was that they were about 6 lb each. Blake was usually estimated bigger than Alice. Instead Alice is our chunky monkey at 5 lb 15 oz and Blake is only 4 lb 15 oz! He is out tiny little peanut. He's had a hard time regulating his temperature too so he'll be in a warm isolettre in our room tonight. Anyway, here's a pic of the new loves of our lives:

    Here's sweet chubby cheeked Alice:

    Dins was sooooo good!

@Mae: hope you had a good date, and the movie was good! We only got halfway thru the movie we rented, try to finish tomorrow!

@skipra: eeee about the contractions! Exciting!

@twodoghouse: goodness what a story! No matter how, so happy they have arrived and are healthy! Seriously so cute, congrats

@Glitter: hope you get some solid sleep tonight! Will be thinking about you tomorrow!

@twodoghouse: omg they are just so cute!!! So glad they are here and healthy!

@skipra: I hope they turn into something! I really thought my crampiness last night/this morning might be very very early contractions bc it was very low and also with back pain and did seem to come and go a bit. But it just never turned into anything and it wasn't "clenchy" so I don't know if that counts. I really have no idea what i'm doing here haha. I just figure at some point i'll be in pain and realize okay, legit labor happening.

    Thanks everyone!

My phone chose to conk out this morning of all mornings so I'm checking in using DHs phone. Cytotec inserted about twenty minutes ago. Baby's heartbeat is good and according to the monitor I'm contracting but I barely feel a thing. Doc will be back in about three hours to check on my progress. Might try to catch some sleep first!

Quick update: Contractions every 3-4 minutes now and getting real. Manageable though. Anxious to see what progress I've made but doctor isn't back yet.

@Glitter: Hope you are progressing! Is that just from the Cytotec or did they also start Pitocin?

@skipra: I hope so too! Cytotec only.

  27. skipra

    pomegranate / 3350 posts

@Glitter: That's great if it's started contractions! With my induction with DS they gave me something else for cervical ripening and it did nothing for me. It will be awesome if the Cytotec can start your labor without the Pitocin. Good luck!!!

@twodoghouse: congrats on your precious little ones!

I'm so excited to hear about everyone else's progress too! We had a small second shower today so it was nice to get a few more of the last odds and ends for this little nugget. She's still definitely breech so we're going in on Wednesday to attempt to turn her via ECV. If she's still stubborn, we'll schedule a c-section sometime next week!! The next few days are all about wrapping things up at work just in case the ECV leads to unexpected labor! Crazy!

So I have been having lots of contractions over the last 2 days. Tomorrow I'm going to let them sweep my membranes. Hoping we have a cinco de mayo baby!

  32. Mae

    papaya / 10343 posts

@caity713: yay for another shower and I hope the ECV works for you! We went to see a movie on Saturday and LO was moving sooooo much and so forcefully I got really scared she flipped herself over to breach. But I know it's so rare for them to do that this late and on their own. Still I'll feel better when the midwife confirms tomorrow that she's still head down!

@junebugmama: okay so this is maybe a dumb question... but what does it feel like when you get contractions? I've had a lot of "weirdness" and some discomfort over the last several days and my DH keeps asking if I'm having a contraction and I honestly have no idea. Which makes me feel like... probably not? lol But I've never done this before so what the f do I know haha. I keep telling him that, essentially-- and also that it doesn't really matter anyways I guess because even if they are contractions they don't mean business until I'm sure thats what they are! hah

  33. junebugmama

    nectarine / 2019 posts

@Mae: cramping and weirdness (lightning crotch, feeling like LO is poking your cervix, etc) is all really common as your body is starting to get ready. Contractions though are pretty different and you will know when you're having them. Everything becomes very tight and even though it may seem impossible, your stomach will get harder. Lots of woman say that if you look down towards your belly during a contraction it actually looks pointed, more mountain shaped then round, while they are happening.

  34. Mae

    papaya / 10343 posts

@junebugmama: Hm. I've DEFINITELY been having random rock hard belly but I thought that was just braxton hicks? I never had them before about a week ago when I got a couple on a walk. And the past few days lots more, randomly. But it didn't hurt at all so I assumed that was BH and not real contractions. The rest sounds like I'm just getting ready... cramping, weirdness, low back pain, lightning crotch, sharp jabs all around my cervix area... check check check check check lol. It's all so hard to tell whats going on haha. I just keep trying to remember that figuring out what exactly stuff is doesn't really predict WHEN which is the only thing I care about now so I just need to chill and try to roll with it until I'm in actual timeable pain.

  35. junebugmama

    nectarine / 2019 posts

@Mae: My BH contractions feel quite different. Only part of my uterus gets hard, and a lot of times my BH's are in my back, where the actual ones that I am having squeeze my entire uterus

  36. Mae

    papaya / 10343 posts

@junebugmama: hm. I guess I have no idea if they are BH or real then. When it happens to me I feel like my whole stomach clenches up and I feel a little sick to my stomach and my entire stomach goes super hard for like 30-60 seconds or so, then releases. But it isn't painful, just a bit uncomfortable (esp if I'm walking, which is when they happen more), and the discomfort is more centralized in my stomach. I guess I thought when real contractions came they'd be really low. But when I do have low cramping (which often comes with low back pain) it isn't so "on for 30 seconds then off" like I imagine a contraction will be. It'll come on for like 10 min and then go away for a few hours. Bodies are so confusing haha.

I'm hungry, my tummy is effed again and I just want to eat anything cold and crunchy, but eating is barely worth it for what ends up happening, ugh. DD had it today too, so I'm thinking it's a bug, not preg related. She had three poopsplosions, it was awful.

Hope those of us with our babes are doing ok, and those still waiting are doing ok too! 39w tomorrow over here! I am going to try to get lots of rest this week, but also have appts, get waxed, a pedi, and some freezer meals, oh, cleaning too! We'll see how I make out with all of that, ha!

    Hi all -

I've been MIA on commenting since our move but have tried to stay up to date with all of your posts! Congrats to all the new mamas!

Our sweet GIRL surprised us, arriving April 29 at 38 weeks exactly. She came fast - my water broke at 1 (during a work meeting - awesome) and she was here by 6:30 pm. We are loving every minute with her so far. She's a peanut at 6 lbs, 9 oz but no issues from being a tad earlier than we expected her.

Here's Elliot Jean. Sending happy, fast labor thoughts to everyone who is still waiting! We are still a bit shocked to have had an April baby!

    Xoxo!

@tarabonno: She is beautiful! I cannot believe that I had an April baby either...and at 38 weeks too Glad to hear your labor went quick!

@Beebug: Oh no! I hope you and DD start feeling better soon!

@junebugmama: @Mae: Hope things start happening with you both soon so you can meet your darlings!

@Beebug: ugh, sorry you are sick. But hopeful that the fact it is illness and not pregnancy related means it will abate soon!

    @tarabonno: omg how adorable! Congratulations!!!!!
