    @Glitter: You are such a rock star!!! Can't believe you made it through an induction without an epi! Gives me hope that if I end up needing to get induced it's at least *possible* to make it through.

    @Mae: C-section scheduled for Sunday the 11th. Anxious about it, but I trust that it's the best decision to get her out safely.

    @Glitter: Your birth story was amazing, congrats!

    @skipra: hope it is going well!!!

    Who was it that said that garlic starts labor...? Lol

    The base of tonight's pasta sauce. And I added red chili flakes. And we had very garlic-y garlic bread. Glad both DH and I garlic!

    @Mae: hahaha that is a shit load of garlic! Bet you're going in to labour tonight!

    @Glitter: lol I hope so but so far.... NADA. I talked to my grandma on the phone today and she told me that moving furniture put her into labor with her first. So... that seems like a viable option if I get super desperate..? haha

    @Mae: oh my gosh! if you went into labor DH's breathe would drive you nuts hahaha

    I'm very calm and super excited to meet baby Jace tomorrow! (hopefully) My midwife, ob, and I had a long conversation and we were all able to agree to the order in which we would do things, in hopes that I can maintain as much of my birth plan as possible, so that put me in the best mood!

    papaya / 10343 posts

    @junebugmama: lol the thing is, if you BOTH eat a ton of garlic you don't notice each other's breath. We're lucky like that

    Also yay!!!!! Thinking good thoughts for you tomorrow

    @Mae: Thank you so much. The plan is to start at 9am and introduce things every 2 hours. It's insane to see it all in writing!

    Hello ladies...I am happy to report that our little guy was born today! It was a crazy labor and delivery...a day of very inconsistent early labor followed immediately by transition, getting stuck in rush hour traffic and an ambulance taking me to a closer hospital. I went from 4 cm at my appointment to baby in arms in less than 3 hours! DH barely made it in time. Luckily no complications and we are doing very well. Will update more after getting some rest. Good luck to all the may mama's getting ready!

    @skipra: so awesome! woohoo!

    @Mae: It's all dependent on what happens to my cervix, but this is pretty much how we are starting and the order of intervention membrane sweep, foley bulb, misoprostol, water break, pitocin

    @junebugmama: Good luck today!!! Sending you good labor vibes!

    I got some much needed rest and woke up for vitals and breastfeeding and skin to skin time so I posted our birth story on the birth stories board for anyone interested. My phone got left in the ambulance and we didn't have time to grab the regular camera from the car so I will have to post photos later.

    @junebugmama: Good luck today!!

    @MRSHONEYBEAR: lol on maxi pad love, +1!

    @twodoghouse: Love the pics, thank-you for sharing! Hope they get in a weight gain groove soon, they are too cute!

    @Glitter: Glad to hear latch and supply are good, but hopefully LC can help with the pain part, and get rid of that part of it! I said "aww" out loud reading where you cried with your Mom, sweet, and those silly preg hormones, but glad you have such great support!!

    @mrsog: Glad nursery and work is behind you, a little downtime before definitely isn't a bad thing!!

    @Coopersmama: Eeeee!!! What a great update!!! Love the pic, congrats Momma!! omg about the tooth though!

    @cookie_dough: Funny on regret leaving work early, I am sooo still enjoying the time, I need to get on more cleaning, been pretty selfish really on what I have done, I did a few freezer meals yesterday though.

    @Mae: Love the updated list + calendar!!! I have moments where I feel there's no one left to have a baby but me, so list is good to see that's not so. lol on the garlic, it just seeps out my skin when I have it, poor DH!

    @skipra: read birth story, read part to DH, he is like "and this is what I am afraid of" (he commutes from just over an hour away, plus traffic) what a fast story!!!

    I had the worst sleep last night, I think I overdid it so much yesterday and got so little sleep the night before that my body was so sore it made it even more impossible to sleep. Nothing scheduled for today, maybe some cleaning, but I should try to enjoy the nice weather and take it easy. DH says I've dropped.

    I didn't even update and sort of why I avoided here for 2 days or so because my last appt was so bad. Weight was 178lbs, bp was fine. I was the last patient of the day and doc was over an hour late seeing me. Literally measured belly, was 36cm and he is like "weird, you were 38cm last week", I was like, uhh....you said I was 32cm last week, I have never measured on size, remember? He just kind of looked at me, totally unsure, listened to baby hb for literally 2 seconds, resident came in for cervical check, same as last week, 2 stretched to a 3, 50% effaced, and then they went on about how baby wasn't coming any time soon, and like....I realize I talk about it like I am okay with it, and I am, but when it's said like it was, I got sort of down about it. Within 5 mins all that happened and I was out the door. I realize I'm not an FTM, but like......discuss something? Not 5 mins of stat checking and on the way? I know I was the last of the long day, but come on. Next week my appt is at 3pm, so at least then I won't be the last appt, but it won't stop the running behind, I asked if I could move it earlier and there weren't any openings, oh well, I will be 40+2 at that appt. I had a really crap counselling appt that day too, so I was pretty "blah", hoping a baby gets in way of next week's appt and I don't have to worry about it, but we'll see.

    Here is my 37 week pic compared to 33 and 35 weeks. He's dropped a ton. He wasn't moving too much last night and I was getting worried. When my DH came home from work he tried listening for his heartbeat with his head to my belly. He could find it. If his activity level doesn't pick up this morning, I'm calling the doctor!

    @junebugmama: Sending you good thoughts this morning!

    @skipra: your story is so crazy! I can't believe all the dramatic May mom births we've had!! Can't wait to see pics

    @Beebug: Ugh, I'm so sorry your doc appt sucked. I hate feeling rushed or brushed off at the doc office. I hope the next one is better. And you definitely need to get some rest today. I feel like I'm sort of walking a line all the time between trying to do enough to get baby on the move, and not do so much I totally exhaust myself

    @Mamasig: You have definitely dropped! Hows LO moving this morning? I feel like my little girl just loves messing with me. I've had 3 times now where I got seriously concerned about movement. She loves to kick the crap out of me for several days in a row then take half a day off and freak me out. Can you poke him? that's what I do. I figure if she moves when I poke her she is okay... so sometimes she gets poked a lot if I"m feeling paranoid lol. And so far every time after a few hours she's started moving on her own again.

  25. Mamasig

    pomegranate / 3565 posts

    @Mae: He is moving more but I'm going to see how he does this morning. Usually, I just have to put my hand on my belly and he moves. Last night I would poke and nothing. That's why I was getting freaked out. I drank some juice and waited. He did move around just not as strongly as I'm used to. Ugh, I'm just anxious. And the low amniotic fluid has me freaked out I guess.

  26. Mae

    papaya / 10343 posts

    @Mamasig: makes sense. I get so paranoid about movement too. It's really hard because they make such a big deal of telling us at every appointment to watch out for decreased movement. But it is SO subjective and varied! I've made sure to specify with them that they care about amount of movement, not strength of movement. because sometimes she is very strong and sometimes her movements are very subtle. And they said that is fine because it just depends on what position she is sitting in... so they really just care THAT she is moving. But I still worry. I can't wait until LO gets out here so I can obsess about her with my eyeballs. lol

    This baby is really quiet on movement this morning too, getting enough, but definitely quiet.

    I may go for a nap here, can hardly keep my eyes open!

    Some random short contractions here too.....five or so in the last 20 mins.

    @skipra: Congrats!

    So it's my last day in the office! I'm so ready to get all these last minute projects done and retire to my couch for the next however many days. I plan on taking 3 walks a day next week until this babeh comes.

    Realized that per my 24 day cycles, I am 39+5 today which is when my son was born. Not holding out hope though -- I'm feeling pretty good! He may be late like his big sister.

    Well I need more than good thoughts. They gave me an ultrasound this morning and are putting the baby at 11lbs 3oz. This would mean an automatic c-section. It has basically halted the process and now I have to wait until 11am to fight for my rights to attempt a vaginal birth. I'm pretty much as angry as it gets right now.

    I am trying to wait for my midwife to show up, before walking out and calling a home birth midwife I know to induce me and let me make an attempt at home.

    @junebugmama: I am feeling so much love for you right now, hope that doesn't sound too weird. We have a sono Monday if I haven't gone into labor on my own yet and it is looking very very likely I'll also be over the 11lb mark and facing the same angry conflict. Last thing you want when trying to birth. You've got my thoughts, prayers, commiseration, all of it. xx

    I go to the doc in a half hour for one more check before the weekend and induction on Monday. I think I lost my mucus plug this morning though and I am seriously crampy so maybe this appt will be more productive than the last one. If I am dilated we will do a membrane sweep. I will update later. I'm feeling nervous now though
