@Beebug: Yay! Congrats on seeing your bean and its heartbeat! I'm glad everything went well with the full bladder and all, haha.

I didn't have to have a full bladder for my first ultrasound, but I did for our embryo transfer and it was hell! They pushed down with an abdominal ultrasound thing while also having all these contraptions up my hoo ha. Yikes! And then I had to lay there for 30 min afterward. They offered me a bedpan at one point but I couldn't bring myself to try it. But I did sprint to the bathroom once they said I could!

@Glitter: Eeee yay due date twins! Awesome how that stuck datewise for both of us, I would have figured a day or two of deviation for both or either of us!

Yah! Now I am between "oh shit, it's real" and nervous, lol.

So no twins over here, just a singleton which is totalllllly okay, but at least we put that thought to rest.

Today is my official, official last day of mat leave, after my u/s I went to costco, saw two babies and mom's and started crying. Would love to know if that is mat leave end related or just saw #2 on a screen related, ha! I was a sobbing mess. Then Tim McGraw's song "don't take the girl" came on the radio and it got to the part where she has the baby, more sobbing, ha -I'm a wreck!!!

I took a better pic of my u/s pic, wee bit less blurry.

It sort of looks like a legit mini-baby the shot she got there, kind of crazy this early, probably just a fluke, but kind of cool!

@Beebug: wait, is this a hand i'm seeing? I swear i'm seeing a hand close to the head! Toooo cool!

  8. Beebug

    pomegranate / 3917 posts

    @Glitter: lol I don't know!

My baby centre weekly update/progress thing says hands and legs, fingers and toes are forming, u/s tech said no arms yet, so I have no clue! We can have fun speculating though

@beebug Yay!! Is it terrible that I'm a little relieved that my baby looks "normal" because it looks ]ike yours?! Is this when it starts already?!?

  10. Beebug

    pomegranate / 3917 posts

@tarabonno: Not terrible aaaat all, that's why forums like this exist!!!!

It will be so crazy to see the IPS u/s in a couple weeks and actually for sure see arms/hands, legs/feet! I have a pic from #1 and you can perfectly see her open hand!

Has this been asked yet? Who will be finding out gender? Who will be team green?! I'm awful memory-wise, and a jerk if this has been asked!

We will definitely be finding out.

You ladies are making me excited for my first appointment on Monday! I'm not sure whether I'll be having an u/s but I'm hoping! I'll be 8w1d at the appt. I'm hoping I don't drag my DH to just a boring old physical!

  12. tarabonno

    cherry / 228 posts

We are team green! Makes our nursery ideas so far really tough. It is driving my mother-in-law crazy, and while I adore her, it's a little fun to make everyone so excited about the gender!

  13. Mae

    papaya / 10343 posts

@Beebug: I'm finding out! I'd find out today if I could-- can't wait! We're not talking names or nursery until we find out so I feel very "omggggg i can't wait"

  14. Beebug

    pomegranate / 3917 posts

@tarabonno: I will see if I can dig up pics my SIL did for their team green nursery, I loveddddd it.

So much of my doesn't want to find out, especially since DHs brother's and SILs both didn't, we were the one who couldn't wait. I know we could not find out, but at this point with a girl it really doesn't make sense to not find out this time. Maybe if this is a boy, and next one (lol) then we'll go all bets off and team green it, buuuuut DH and I are both already "feeling" girl, lol we just discussed this tonight while watching survivor. Gut feeling now, and we'll see where it is in a few weeks! I was boy this early last time, changed to girl about 15w and was then right!

@Mae: lol about finding today. In my head after today's u/s I thought, well "it" knows what gender it is at this point, why can't *I* know now. I'm a fool

We're definitely finding out. We're just not patient enough to wait! My family seems to think boy even though I know both my mom and my mil want a girl. We shall see!

  16. Mae

    papaya / 10343 posts

@Beebug: I know! Some day our daughters (or granddaughters perhaps) will get to pee on a stick and it will say "Congratulations, you are pregnant! You're having a girl and she is due on May 10!"

  17. cookie_dough

We are team green!!! We were team green the first time, so our nursery is very gender neutral. It's painted green with an animal theme. I'm so excited to start working on DD's "big girl" room, I'm going to make it soooo girly

  18. Glitter

    persimmon / 1281 posts

We're finding out. I want to go crazy buying all pink or all blue... though it probably doesn't even really matter since we're moving three months after so we won't be doing up a nursery...

  19. twodoghouse

    honeydew / 7230 posts

We're definitely finding out the genders and I cannot wait to start buying clothes, picking names and planning the nursery once we know! I love the idea of being team green and having this huge surprise to announce once they're born, but I just can't do it. I think I'd go crazy, haha.

In other news, I am 8 weeks today! So crazy, I can't even believe we're here already. Also, I bought some maternity pants at Target last week and in honor of the 8 week milestone, I'm finally letting myself wear them. I know this is all pudge/bloat/whatever and not the babies, but I haven't been able to button my work pants all week! Anyone else having that problem?

We are definitely finding out. You can find out at 20 weeks right? So for me that will be right before Christmas so we can do some kind of cute reveal with the family. I can't wait - I hate calling it "it" lol

  21. Glitter

    persimmon / 1281 posts

@twodoghouse: Oh yes my work pants don't button anymore either and I have officially sworn off jeans (until I get the maternity kind). I'm all dresses and work skirts now. Sooo much more comfortable.

  22. whodat

    apricot / 365 posts

I kind of want to be team green, because I like surprises. But, all of us (me, DH and DD) really want a girl, and I have a feeling that it's a boy. I don't want people to be disappointed when he's born when they should be happy and excited. Finding out at 20 weeks gives us 20 weeks to get comfortable with the idea. When I was 4, my mom was pregnant and obviously I super wanted a sister and drew pictures of my future sister and everything. Then she has the baby and it was a boy, and I remember being so mad I didn't want to hold him or be around him or anything. So I don't want to create that kind of dynamic between DD and the new baby from the get-go.

That said, I would be happy with a boy and it would probably be good for DS to have a brother close in age with him. I just loove little girl clothes!

@twodoghouse: I am only 7 weeks tomorrow but the pooch is out of control! I have been wearing dresses and skirts and busted out my Bella band yesterday too--so helpful! It is making me just want to tell after the. 8 wk appt so I can stop pretending!

@sweetkeight: I think we need an update on our new members and appointments and whether we're team green or finding out!

I'm about 8w4d today, and we are torn on whether we want to find out or not....having multiples kinda throws team picking out the window, lol. I'm pretty certain i want to know though. I just won't tell or hint DH cos he wants to be surprised.

  26. Mae

    papaya / 10343 posts

@Apex: oh man that will be hard for you to know and him to not know... ban him from the nursery and from viewing all clothes you buy. Also, were multiples not enough of a surprise? he needs MORE surprises? Lol

  27. mrsog

    apricot / 388 posts

oh man, the last 2 days I have felt SO good. engergy and eating normal. Well that was short lived because today has been horrible and I just threw up in the bathroom at work
my symptons are so up and down I never know what the day will be like!

I absolutely want to find out, and I really, really want it to be a boy for my husband's sake. Otherwise our daughter has a lifetime of hunting, camping and ridiculously long hikes. And if she is anything like me, she won't love it.- I like 'glam-ping', and I will never, ever shoot a gun. Then again, she might enjoy that, and my son might not- that's the joy of being born in 2014- you don't have to 'align'.

If the old wives tale about not being 'as sick' with a boy, then it is likely a boy.

In other news, doc called with Counsyl test results (genetic testing)- and the first round looked good. So I am grateful for good news.

Is anyone experiencing a ridiculous amount of bloating? I look 6 months pregnant and it cannot possibly be from a baby the size of a gummi bear. i actually was in pain with gas, and this is TMI- I am so happy when I poop.

@Glitter and @Coopersmama: Yes. I'm really having quads for now. My Dr is not very sure all 4 would make it, so it's really just one day at a time right now.
