@anandam: Welcome! I am also in NYC on the UES - love having another NYC lady here
@tarabonno: love the annoucement!!

Ah, I'm so behind on this thread!
@Mae: Oh my gosh, your dog is the cutest! Love your announcement! Happy belated birthday too!
@tarabonno: Such a cute announcement! Congrats on being public!
@anandam: Welcome! So exciting about your twin feeling - do twins run in either of your families? I'll be excited to hear what you find out at your next appointment!
As for me, I told my boss yesterday! I had been stressing SO MUCH and of course it was no big deal. She was not surprised at all (she knew we were going through IF treatment) but she sure was shocked when I said it was twins! She did not ask if I was planning to come back afterward, which was my greatest fear (since I am planning on SAH). So now I feel in the clear about announcing on Facebook. I have another US tomorrow to check on the babes, so I know I should wait until after that. However, I'd love to put our announcement up in the morning so I'll be "out" for the Halloween potluck at work tomorrow. My Where's Waldo costume (just a red and white shirt) is not exactly on board with keeping my secret, if you know what I mean. My bloat is really turning into a bump shape now! I might have to put up a bump pic soon!

@cookie_dough: I hope so, I am dreading feeling her when her body feels the pain....oh save me.....I hate that!
@twodoghouse: Ohhh fun costume idea! I am such an old hag and am so not a get dressed up person, but then others talk about it and it sounds fun, lol.
I am mega hungry today, like just about caved and got desperate and raided my bosses snacks but came to my senses, I will have to go buy something, feeling a little nauseous!! I really want to tell my one boss, I feel like I might tell them on Saturday (at my big work event) if everything looks ok Friday at my IPS u/s. I might not tell DH I told them, lol, we agreed we'd tell them first after parents....just not before, lol. I am the crazy who wants to tell my bosses before my own parents!

@twodoghouse: congrats on telling your boss and it going well!! its all starting to feel so official here in this thread as everyone is finding out
@Beebug: i can't believe you guys haven't told the parents yet even! so much will power!

We also went public today. I think it's funny how the first time around we went and had professional pics taken and what not and this time it was a much simpler process. Poor 3rd kid lol. Our NT scan is Monday. Can't wait to see the little bugger.

@junebugmama: aw, so cute! and don't feel badly. This is my first kid and I still just posted a cell phone pic of my dog with some computer paper. Lazy FTW. heh

Hey ladies......
This is the announcement I was going to use, but now I am debating whether or not I even want to facebook list it. All my important friends/family knows- so it does not feel as urgent as it did before
@Mae- Belated Happy 13th birthday Points to your husband.
@Anandam: welcome.
So I had my NT scan today. Had done the blood test last week, and everything looked really good. I had the most incredible 'sonogrammer'. She pointed out so much stuff, she was excited and calming all at once. Our little one was having a party in the belly- fist pumps and all. Everything looked great. It was seriously the most incredible experience.
I am a happy girl today, and I think I am actually going to make my worry deadline No more worrying- time to settle in and enjoy being preggo!
papaya / 10343 posts
@Coopersmama: yay!! so glad to hear that everything went well and you had such a great experience!
I just got my paperwork in the mail today for my Anatomy Scan and I'm so pumped to do it but the paperwork says I need a full bladder and that is bumming me out! It doesn't say HOW full or how much I need to drink though so I think I may give it a loose interpretation lol. I'd rather they make me drink more than get in there BURSTING.
cherry / 129 posts
@Mae- I found out about the full bladder once I got to the docs! So I spent 10 minutes drinking water. Oy Vey!
papaya / 10343 posts
@Coopersmama: how much did they make you drink? My doc's office is about 30 min from my home. I figured I'd pee before I left then take a 20 oz bottle of water to down on the way. I'm one of those people who have to pee all the time (preggo or not) so I'm pretty sure I have a small bladder anyways.

Hi you cute gals! I'm so sorry for disappearing - I was diagnosed with HG and had a few hospital stays and a couple of really bad moments on an IV (plus a busted entry/vein site, not something I ever want to have happen again!) So, computer time has been OUT. I've lost close to 15 pounds since the pregnancy started - not the diet I was hoping for! I now yearn for food in a way I never did before pregnancy. It would just be nice to EAT and keep it down!! BLERGH!
@Mae - thanks SO much for taking over the lists. I hope to be back really really soon!
We did genetic testing and found out that the Trisomy's for Teeny are all normal and that we're having a BOY! (Yay Sequenom test!) It's a relief to know that everything is normal when I'm soooo sick all. the. time. I'm 14 weeks now and hoping hoping for some relief. I hope to be back on regularly very soon! Sorry for the 'drive-by' posting... I have so much catching up to do with all of you
papaya / 10343 posts
@sweetkeight: I'm so sorry you've been so sick, and any time you'd like to take over the lists again you just let me know! Also, YAY for a boy!!!! Soooo exciting to know already that he is healthy and a boy, wow!
cherry / 129 posts
@sweetkeight- Welcome back. How exciting you got to know the baby's gender.
Wow....! I can't believe you lost 15 pounds. That helps put into perspective that my off taste buds and occasionaly nausea could be so much worse. Have you gotten some relief now?
nectarine / 2019 posts
@sweetkeight: you are not alone! I was also diagnosed with HG. Down 21lbs and 3 hospital visits for fluids so far. It's really stinking horrific. I had it my first pregnancy too.

@twodoghouse: Yes, there are some twins in the family, but not recent. My paternal grandfather and maternal grandmother both had twin siblings, but none of them had twin children, nor did anyone in my parents' generations, nor my cousins (so far). I guess my mom and her sister were both hopeful they'd have twins, but neither did. The main reason we're suspicious is that my chart the month we conceived was way weird - seemed like a double peak in both mucus and temp, plus I felt activity on the left with the first, then on the right in the days after. We'll see...
@sweetkeight: @junebugmama: So sorry for you HG ladies! My nausea/vomiting has been on the other end of the spectrum where I can only control it by eating basically constantly - I gained 8lbs by 10wks! Oops. I really hope you both feel it easing soon.

Hi Ladies,
Sorry I have been awol from posting but I have been catching up as needed and have been excited to see so many of your 12 week ultrasound photos and celebrating with you approaching the golden trimester.
As for me, all is well. I am still eating a lot of carbs in the mornings but have not had too much trouble otherwise. I am officially "out" about the pregnancy at work, which has led to a lot of "I was wondering..." or "someone asked me about you" comments, so I guess I wasn't doing such a great job at hiding the bump! It is nice to have more people to share the excitement with and once things look good at my 12 week check next week, I think I will relax a little more.
@sweetkeight: welcome back! we missed you! so sorry to hear about the HG and your medical drama. Hope that things start to look up for you soon!
@junebugmama: sorry for your HG too. Yuck! You ladies are such troopers!
@anandam: welcome! it is great to have more faces around here! I hope that things continue to go smoothly, twins or not!

@sweetkeight: good to hear from you! sorry you had such a rough time but YAY for a healthy boy!!!
I told work today. My boss was happy for me, as I expected he would be. It feels so good to get that done!
I have been kinda stressed out lately bc I haven't told my sister yet. There recently has been some drama and she isnt talking to the family and things are not good between us but she is my only sister and it was really weighing heavy on me not telling her. She also has 3 daughters that mean the world to me and I know they will be excited to be getting a cousin. So I reached out to her last night and as expected she wouldn't talk to me but I talked to the girls and they were soo cute and excited and they said they want to help me name the baby. I woke up this morning feeling like a different person. I didnt realize the toll that the stress was having on me. I wasn't sleeping and I was crying a lot. I decided to take a new approach going forward - healthy and stress free. While I may still feel nauseous today, mentally I feel so much better and I think this is what my baby needs from me.
papaya / 10343 posts
@junebugmama: so sorry you have HG too! Ugh that just sounds horrible. I hope both you and @sweetkeight: are feeling better soon!
I'm being a little frustrated this week, but I know I should really put it in perspective to what some other ladies have to deal with! I'm just frustrated because it feels like one thing after another. I was finally starting to feel better with my nausea/exhaustion then promptly got this stupid cold that is now well into its second week. Then I got the UTI. The meds are working for that (thank god for meds!) but I've been really nauseous and tired again tues-wed-thurs. I'm not sure if it is resurgence of pregnancy ick or if it is related to the UTI meds because they do say they can cause drowsiness and upset stomach. sigh. I'm also crossing my fingers and taking probiotics hoping that the antibiotics don't lead to a YI. I'm allergic to all YI meds so it would suck really bad if that happened (and I know it often does after a full week on antibiotics!). I think my husband is a little worried about me because I've just been really down/cranky all week because I'm just sick of feeling bad in one regard or another. It's the 2nd trimester, where are my damn rainbows and unicorns?! lol
papaya / 10343 posts
@mrsog: congrats on telling your boss and your sister (or your nieces, anyways!). Family drama sucks but glad you're feeling a weight off now that you've spread the news! Good luck on the stress-free living

@Mae: Thank you! - I have never been good at stress management. I stuffer from IBS and have gotten ulcers from stress and migrains. I think its really important for me to try to relax bc I dont want my baby to feel the stress that I have. I don't know how it works medically but I feel like it can't be good! anyway, I hope you start to feel better soon - eat some yogurt and get rest! a few people told me the rainbows and unicorns dont actually come till week 15 or 16 so hold tight!
pomegranate / 3917 posts
@Mae: Willpower or no desire to let my Mom get all baby crazy? Hahaha I am starting to get the itch to tell people (again, not my Mom, lol) but will continue to wait!
@junebugmama: Love the announcement!
@Coopersmama: That is awesome you had a great tech, any less worry is a huge positive!!
@Mae: I always drink too much water! 4 cups is usually what my stuff says, I will have to look how much it says for tomorrow's! Sorry you are feeling one thing after the other, I felt that way last time and totally had bitter moments on "why doesn't everyone have it as bad as me", not that you would wish it on anyone, but it definitely just made it tough(er).
@Coopersmama: glad you like the website!! I love her emails once she gets going with them.....so straight up!
@sweetkeight: good to see you post!!! I am really happy to see you back, always worry the worst when someone disappears.....but glad you have a positive and WOW on boy!! Eeeee so exciting!! What is HG?
@mrsog: Great you told work, but awesome on telling your sister and how it's made you feel, that is pretty awesome.
I just got back from DDs appt, and definitely forgot it was an appt for me too! Did two in one! Her one year appt and a pre-natal appt for me! One year shots for DD was NOT fun, but my end of things was great! Gained 2lbs (I figured I hadn't gained much) and heard baby's hb!! Total shock as my doc doesn't *do* doppler stuff as he says it freaks people out on the off chance he can't find it, so he never did with DD, his intern started with me today, she couldn't find it, so he wanted to show her where to try, and found it no problem, around 140bpm! My BP was usual low 102/58, and I go back in 4w! IPS tomorrow first though.
Rainy crap day here, too bad for Hallowe'en!

@Mrsog- So sorry to hear about the family drama. That is never fun. I love that your nieces were excited. It might change your sister's perspective. You reached out though... so that is a step.
Happy Halloween mamas! So my belly has grown to twice the size overnight. Picture attached.

@Coopersmama: So cute, I love it!
@Beebug: Yay for a great appointment and hearing the HB with the doppler! I hope your DD is feeling ok after her shots!
I am 12 weeks today and I decided to go public on Facebook! We've had tons of surprised reactions about it being twins. Word has spread like wild fire around my office and everyone is ecstatic. I've had a LOT of people say they were wondering because my belly has been growing, but they didn't want to come right out and ask. I guess this has been the worst kept secret ever, haha.
Here's a picture of me at 12 weeks with twins in my Where's Waldo "costume" (before I added the hat):
pomegranate / 3917 posts
@twodoghouse: funny about the worst kept secret, I am interested to see what reactions will be for us! DH told his colleague today (so much for me being the bad one at spilling!!) so she is the first to know! We used to live with her and her DH and two kids (well, rented apt from them at back of their house) so I am totally okay with it, but now I am like...hmmm do I get to tell one person too?! Congrats on 12w and being facebook public!
honeydew / 7230 posts
@Beebug: I can't believe you haven't told anyone yet! You must have the patience of a saint.
pomegranate / 3917 posts
@twodoghouse: apparently with regard to pregnancy I do! I don't have a ton of patience anywhere else in life, ha!!
I have no idea why I am so okay with hiding it as long as possible! I guess I just feel like I don't want to be pregnant for "so long" telling people, and the surprise factor in being further along is fun, too! We'll see! I talk about being pg again a lot too, so some people won't be that shocked!
papaya / 10343 posts
@Coopersmama: @twodoghouse: You two and your bumps are so cute! I could post a pic and claim its a bump but honestly it's just pizza. Once my pants don't fit, I'll post a photo
cherry / 129 posts
@Mae- PIzza!!! Hahaa You made me smile. For a long time, my bump was just BLOAT!!! Gas and constipation.
@twodoghouse- LOVE the costume. You look cute in your bump.
So, I forgot the bag of Halloween candy of my desk to bring home. Pregnancy brain. Now we are one of 'those people'. The ones who tunr of the living room lights, and pretend not to be home. Geez!
pomegranate / 3917 posts
I call my fatness "too many pies", lol.
We had 24 kids tonight! I guessed we'd have 7, I was a little off....we started with 151 pieces of candy. Have 1/4 left, ate lots and gave lots!
IPS tomorrow, eeeeep!!! It's at 12:30!
pomegranate / 3917 posts
@Mae: I am getting excited! It seems s/he will look like a baby this time and not a blob!!!
papaya / 10343 posts
@Beebug: totally! I can't even tell the head from the ass on my 8 week ultrasound. Cannot WAIT for my anatomy scan to see actual recognizable features!
pomegranate / 3595 posts
@Beebug: so excited for you! Will be looking forward to an update!
We only had a handful of trick or treaters but had a blast taking LO out for the first time...
pomegranate / 3350 posts
@MamaCate: Sorry if you've mentioned this before but how old is your LO? We didn't bring DS out this year but he loved answering the door in his costume.
@Beebug: Good luck today! Is IPS the same thing as the NT scan? What does it stand for?
@Coopersmama: @twodoghouse: Love the bumps and Halloween outfits!
I way overdid it with the Halloween candy. We had several groups of trick or treaters but still have half the candy left over. I'm sure it won't be around too long!

I'm so behind, I promise to catch up later today, but just wanted to say good luck @Beebug!! so excited to hear all about it
