@whodat: I always try to put my son down early when there is a night game. Somehow he always manages to stay up to at least 10. Guess he doesn't want to miss out! Here's to a Saints victory! Who Dat!

@Mae: So excited for your news today !!! Amazing.
@mrsog: I have an older friend (in her 6os) who is a total nervous nelly and is constantly saying, "Are you sure you should be doing that?" when all I'm doing is like riding the train to work or something. I know she means well but sometimes I'm like, please, chill yourself. Things are fine.
@Beebug: Keep us posted as you get responses from the cards!!!

@Mae: Congratulations! That's so exciting!!
I am dying of anticipation - can't wait to get on the schedule. I am afraid to move forward with painting or buying too much until we know which direction to head!

@Mae: congrats Momma! So excited for you!
@gingerblonde: I am soooo anxious to start on the nursery! Curbing it for now with committing to getting DDs room finished first, I think we will paint both rooms right after Christmas and get going from there!

Thanks all! So the ultrasound was good but it took foreeeever! We were there for 2.5 hrs from my u/s time! They took me in half an hour late, then the scan itself took an hour (might have been quicker but baby girl was so shy! Thighs clamped the whole time and the tech kept poking at her to get her to move, and eventually I had to get up and pee and then do jumping jacks to try to get her to move! lol). Even then the tech could only say she was guessing girl but couldn't get a good shot to verify!
The only reason we ended up getting a really good shot is because I apparently have a low lying placenta so they followed the abdominal u/s with a vaginal one to see how close the placenta is to my cervix. With that angle she got the money shot! And the tech and doc said that the baby looks perfect, no concerns! The placenta is low but that it will probably move up on its own. I have to have another u/s in 6 weeks to confirm it is moving in the right direction. Worst case scenario is that it doesn't move and I have to have a scheduled c-section. Which I hope doesn't happen but I'm so happy the baby is totally healthy that I'm finding it hard to care how she gets here as long as she stays safe

@Mae: yayyy! Congrats on your baby girl! First girl mama here woohoo! It seems we could rely on good old Ramzi eh?

@Glitter: I know!
Also forgot to add-- some pics! The first is my fav bc you can see her cute little profile and it looks like she is waving. The second is my husband's fav because she looks all creepy like Bane from Batman (I think more like the Punisher-- but very creepy regardless lol). The third is the stuffed rattle my parents gave us as a gift right after we found out (they brought both a boy and a girl one to cover their bases lol) and the onesies we bought right after we found out!

@Mae: Sweet! Congrats on the baby girl!
Well at my appointment, I found out I've gained 11 pounds (eep!) and....it's a boy! The doctor asked if we had made the appointment to find out the sex, and jokingly I said yes but I know you've got the equipment to tell us today. To my surprise, she went and got her ultrasound out! Turns out she was waiting around for a woman in labor and had time to kill. So she spent a good 30-45 minutes doing an ultrasound and it sure looks like a boy to me. His unbiblical cord was between his legs but he eventually moved and we could see his stuff! She even printed off a ton of pictures. This one kind of shows him flipping the bird ...

@Mae: Congrats on your little girl!!!
@whodat: Congrats on your precious boy!!
I had my 16 week check up today. Heartbeat sounded great! It was in the 140's. Two more weeks til my anatomy U/S! I'm always so anxious that something is going to go wrong (because I'm a worrywart!) that I'm just now starting to get excited about finding out what we're having. Hopefully the next two weeks will go quickly!!!
papaya / 10343 posts
@caity713: yay! Try not to worry! Especially during the scan. Mine took so long and the tech didn't really say anything good or bad. Then I had to wait 30 min for the doc to come in with results and when he came in he didn't even really say anything right away and was like "so what do you think of your little girl? pretty cool huh? any questions?" and I'm like ummmmmm is she healthy? and he's like "Oh yea! Perfect! No issues!" I'm like okay dude, how about leading with that nugget of info? lol

@caity713: congrats on a good appointment! I'm a worrywart too so I know how you feel! It's nice you get to see your baby again in 2 weeks!
@mae: I'm sure the boy/girl count will even up as more people find out!
I'm team green but am thinking it's a boy. Do any other team greeners have an idea about the sex?
pomegranate / 3917 posts
@Mrs Hazelnut: I think boy, we are going to TG it as of now, eeep! My reasons are : this pregnancy is sooo different than my last, gut feeling, and if it is a boy I need to prepare myself more so thinking boy is better for my head, lol. That third reason is semi-terrible, I realize.

Hi everyone! I just re-outed myself from lurkerdom and figured I'd join my birth month board this time. :). My husband and I already have an 18 month old son and we are due this May with a surprise (!) baby. We've always wanted 2 kids, but we were planning to wait a little bit longer to TTC #2. I guess life had other plans for us!
EDD if you have one: May 4
When Did You Find Out?: don't know how many dpo, but it was about 5 days before my expected period. I felt weird so I decided to test. I then proceeded to test about 20 more times...I was in shock.
Child Number: #2
Where You Live: Illinois
What kind of provider will you see?: ob/gyn
When's Your First appointment: already had a few appts, but am excited for my anatomy scan on December 16th. Already know that we are having another boy since we had the Harmony genetic test at 13 weeks.
What kind of birth do you want?: a repeat of my first sons birth wouldn't be too bad. I'd like to avoid the giant racquetball sized hemorrhoid that felt like it was going to explode ( my husband told me at first he thought it was the babies head!!) while pushing. That would be fantastic. Lol. My DH is still a little traumatized by that.
What You're Most Excited For: seeing my son as a big brother
What You're Most Scared About: having 2 so close in age!
Symptoms so far: I had crazy bloating and nausea up until about 12 weeks. I didn't have the nausea with my son so I for sure thought it was a girl..
We only want 2 kids and I really wanted a girl. I have to admit that when the nurse called with the Harmony test results with the gender I burst into tears. I was pretty distraught for about a day, but then I really warmed up to the idea of being a mom of 2 boys. :).
I'm a lot less paranoid this time around..by this time (18 weeks) last pg I'd been to the ER about 3-4 times already for cramping, one episode of bleeding and also thinking I was leaking fluid...it was fluid, but it was pee and discharge. Lol. Also, having a toddler to concentrate on doesn't really allow me to focus too much on worrying about this pregnancy.
Happy to join all of you! Wishing us all a happy and healthy 9 months!!

I'm jealous everyone is finding out if they are having a boy or girl! I probably won't find out until January! My OB doesn't do the anatomy scan until 20 weeks.
pomegranate / 3917 posts
Thanks for list, my guess is boy, we are Team Green though, not sure if the list is still editable! Check-up and anatomy scan Dec 19, back to back appts, kinda worked out they are the same day!

@Beebug: Sorry, it is too late! I'll add guesses next round if people want. Maybe once a few more people find out we can separate people out too like other months do for team pink/blue/green

@Mae: Congrats on the first May baby girl!!! And that picture of the face is awesome! Thanks for the udpated list. I have my next check up with my OB on December 10
@Whodat: Congrats on the baby boy! Baby boys are definitely taking over the May board
@Mrs Hazelnut: I'm team green, but I'm feeling boy. I'm really only going by gut feeling and heart rate.
@Smar11: welcome! A bunch of us will have 2 very close in age...you definitely won't be alone in that regard! Scary, but hopefully fun My DD is 16 months now, and will be 22 months when baby 2 gets here.

@Mae: Just seeing the pics now, I don't let them load on my phone as it kills it, lol! loveeee the skull pic! We had (when it fit!) that onesie on the right and I loveddddd it, but the bow was I guess abrasive enough that in a few mins in marked up DDs chin to crap! It looked so bad! So fyi when your babe actually wears it to watch for that, we ended up cutting it off, but hopefully it doesn't happen to your girlie!
@Smar11: Welcome!!!!
@Mamasig: I will be 19+3 on our anatomy scan, closer to 20! I will be halfway across the country the week of 20w so I am glad I am sneaking this in just before we leave!
My SIL is like *so* excited we will be finding out gender just before we get to them (across country) and we haven't told them yet we're not going to find out, it's going to be so funny.
My university roomie who I posted about last week announcing she was pg and due in June had her NT/IPS scan yesterday and no heartbeat Ugh
papaya / 10343 posts
@Beebug: good tip! I will definitely watch for that and the boy may have to go. I was sort of in it for the polka dots anyways
Also, that is SO sad about your friend! So heartbreaking to lose any pregnancy but to not find out until the very end of your 1st tri, ugh.

@Mae: yay on the girl! I love the pics. and @whodat: yay on the boy!! its so much fun hearing what everyone is having. the anticipation till Dec 16th is killing me!

@Mae: Yah no worries on list, can leave our guess out and maybe we can do a separate post for guesses and then knowns once we are all past anatomy scans?

@Mae: Love the pics! I can't get over her cute little hand up by her face!
@whodat: Congrats on your little boy!
@Smar11: Welcome to the group and congrats on your second little boy!
@Beebug: I'm so excited that you're going Team Green! There's no way that I could do it because the not knowing would drive me crazy, but I think it would be so amazing to deliver your baby and find out right there whether it's a boy or girl!
Everyone finding out the genders on this thread is making me so anxious to find out what we're having! I have a perinatologist appointment at noon today and there's a chance we will be able to find out, but I'm trying not to get too worked up about it because we may not. If that's the case, I think we'll have to wait till the next peri appointment (I don't know when that would be) because my OB office prefers to have the anatomy scan done by the peri.
Is anyone else not feeling any movement at all yet? I am 16 weeks 5 days and I haven't had any movement that I can actually identify as baby motions. I know Baby B has an anterior placenta, but I was hoping to start feeling Baby A moving soon!
papaya / 10343 posts
@twodoghouse: I didn't feel any movement at all until the very end of 16 weeks and even now (in my 18th week) I would say I don't feel any movement if it wasn't for this thread. In order to feel anything I have to lay very still and usually annoy the baby to get her to move (either poking my stomach or playing music on my phone and setting it on my stomach). I don't feel movement just in everyday life when I'm not really looking for it. The nurse at my appointment yesterday asked me about movement and I told her just tiny flutters but no kicks are very obvious movement yet and she said that is very typical!
pomegranate / 3917 posts
@twodoghouse: It's so funny. A week ago I would have been like "you're ^$%#ing crazy" if someone said I was going to be Team Green and I nevvvver would have pictured it for myself. But now that DH sold it and I am on the flip side I am SO excited not to know!!! It's so weird and doesn't seem me. DH dropped last night maybe waiting until the 19th to decide and I was like well no, we're not finding out now, haha. That would be soooo exciting if you found out on your two today!!

@Mae: Congratulations! What great pics!
@whodat: Congratulations! So awesome you got to find out early.
@Smar11: Welcome! I'm another one that will have two close in age. My DS is 15 months now. Eeek!
I am definitely feeling movement now. I forgot how awesome and reassuring it is! My gender scan is a week from today! Yay! Can't wait. If we are able to find out, I plan to put either pink or blue ballons in a big box for DS and my stepDD to open for a gender reveal that night. Then I have my regular check up on the 11th. We will probably schedule the anatomy scan at that time.
apricot / 309 posts
@twodoghouse: Last time I didn't feel until after 20 weeks, but I did have an anterior placenta. I remember being at my anatomy scan and the ultrasound tech said you don't feel that kicking?? So I am sure you will be feeling it soon!
pomegranate / 3565 posts
@twodoghouse: with my 1st I didn't feel regular movement until about 21 weeks. Before then I would have times where I thought it was the baby but wasn't sure. Now with this pregnancy, I "thought" I felt something yesterday but who knows! I'm 15 weeks today. I'm hoping to feel movement soon too. That's the BEST part of pregnancy.
apricot / 365 posts
@twodoghouse: I felt some movement around 13 weeks but nothing much after that, except for a tap here and there that I can't be sure was the baby. In my ultrasound yesterday the doctor showed me how my placenta is somehow both anterior and posterior -- it's actually wrapped around the baby. Sounds strange but she's not concerned. I think it's preventing me from feeling the little guy, because he sure was moving nonstop and I didn't feel any of it.
apricot / 388 posts
@twodoghouse: I am 18 weeks and really don't think I am feeling movement. I think sometimes I do feel the flutters but I don't know if its in my head bc I reaalllllllllly want to feel it. Some people really don't feel anything till after 20-21 weeks so I am (not so) patiently waiting for an actually kick!
honeydew / 7230 posts
Thank you everyone for reassuring me about not feeling movement being ok! I will try to wait patiently until it starts, but in the meantime I am jealous of everyone who is already feeling baby move!
kiwi / 619 posts
@twodoghouse: I'm not feeling much of anything in terms of movement. I thought I was feeling something a few weeks ago, but it disappeared...which of course has me all worried. I THINK that maybe last night I felt a bit of something again, but really nothing definite.
persimmon / 1281 posts
I am 17 wks 2 days and I have been feeling movement consistently for the past week or so. It is really amazing. Just felt a nudge as I was typing this lol. I haven't felt HARD kicks yet but I do feel a lot of fluttering and poking and popping from time to time throughout the day.
