@YogiRunner: Ditto - I had one yesterday that made me gasp, and others that almost take my breath away! She usually calms down if DH puts his hand on my belly though, so he still hasn't felt any.

@YogiRunner: I've been getting those too! Some days baby is crazy active. I've noticed that he/she mostly stays on my left side, pretty sure head is down and feet are up as I feel kicks in my ribs and punches down low near my bladder. Every once in awhile baby will swim over to the right side and give me a few jabs but always seems to return to the left. So CUTE!

@tinyperson: Same thing happens with DH lol. He's not patient enough!

@YogiRunner: Same here! I think she's head down and mostly on my right side - I feel lots of kicks up above my belly button and hiccups down by my right hip. Sometimes, she'll make these big sweeping movements all the way across my belly and it makes me gasp! Or she'll push into my lungs and bladder at the same time, that's not a great feeling lol.

@tinyperson: @Autumnmama79: @csross217: Ahhh baby movements are so cute and kind of magical! I am getting teary reading these (ha). Good to know I'm not alone and that big jabs all over the place are par for the course at this stage And same that DH hasn't felt it yet, it's kind of funny considering some days it is VERY obvious visually from the outside. Pretty sure I've freaked out my coworkers and fellow train passengers with what looks like an alien moving in my belly, but DH hasn't seen or felt it yet.

@YogiRunner: I agree, this really is a magical time of pregnancy feeling all the kicks and punches.

TMI question for you May ladies (and I may post on the main board as we're kinda quiet ) but what are you doing about the hair down there during pregnancy? I normally shave but haven't been able to reach for the past few weeks. I'm considering a wax but thinking it will be extra sensitive (i.e.. painful) with all the blood flow and hormones...

  7. TrailRunner

    kiwi / 585 posts

@YogiRunner: my stomach seriously looks like there is an alien trying to escape on a daily basis. When I was at my appt the other day the baby kept moving away from the Doppler and my husband said he could see the baby moving my stomach in different areas from across the room. The doctor told me that soon those movements won't be as hard bc the baby will run out of room and will basically just be trying to roll from side to side. I hope that makes sense? The movements now can be kind of painful so I'm looking forward to when he calms down!

@Autumnmama79: oh man, it's difficult. I use an electric bikini trimmer thing and just hope for the best. Other than that I just deal with it bc even shaving my legs has become a PITA.

  8. YogiRunner

    clementine / 849 posts

@Autumnmama79: I have the same question. Maintenance in general from the waist down has become a total PITA. I think I'll suck it up and wax in a few weeks, and just deal with it until then.

  9. Autumnmama79

    pear / 1703 posts

@TrailRunner: Hope for the best is a good way to put it! I can't really see what I'm doing there either lol

@YogiRunner: Ya, maybe if I wait a bit I'll only have to do one wax before delivery...

@Autumnmama79: Lol I have the same problem! Like @TrailRunner I just use an electric trimmer and hope for the best. I kind of try to move my belly out of the way to see what I'm doing but it's getting harder and harder...

@TrailRunner: @YogiRunner: @csross217: @sslm: Glad I'm not alone in this struggle! Obvs the drs and nurses don't care come d-day, but I do! Thinking I might go for a wax this weekend and then one more before baby comes.

  13. TrailRunner

@csross217: haha the kind of move the belly out of the way. I can't tell you how many times I've tired to move it out of the way for one reason or another. I seriously do not understand how people with permanent guts this size do it daily. (Not trying to be mean or anything--I feel like maybe that sounded mean.) I mean just getting in and out of my car in the garage and in tight parking spaces is sometimes impossible!

@Autumnmama79: I think by that point I will have completely given up. I'm so puffy and sensitive in that area I would probably die if I got a wax. I'm just thankful it's summer and nobody has to see my legs bc even those are a pain to shave.

  14. Autumnmama79

    pear / 1703 posts

@TrailRunner: Bahahaha laughing out loud that you would 'probably die if you got a wax'. I feel the same way. But every time I'm feeling chicken about something I remind myself I better toughen up because I'm about to endure the worst pain of my life

    But still, I'm pretty scared!

@tinyperson: how did the transition go?!

Holy hell I just went for Brazilian - during pregnancy that's a special kind of torture!! Never has this emoji been more appropriate yeouch!!

@Autumnmama79: so far so good. I'm just worried she's going to fall out. It's a day bed and the mattress is high, so her beds as high as ours! No bed rail we've seen will work so we have a pool noodle under the sheet!

ETA: you're a brave mama! I've never had a reg wax let alone a Brazilian!

Had an ultrasound late last week! It was so incredible to see how much baby girl has grown since 20 weeks ! She's measuring about 3lbs 12oz and is in the 49th percentile. Everything looks great. We didn't get a good picture of her face though - she was being stubborn and wouldn't move her feet and hands from in front of her head! We did get to see her sucking her thumb/fingers and taking practice breaths though!

All my bras have become laughable as my boobs have been rapidly expanding over the past several months. I figure they'll get a bit bigger when my milk comes in but they've pretty much reached max capacity. I went to get fitted for a nursing bra and I'm a size "I". Yipes.

Hi everyone! Too busy at work and I try not to be on the computer when I'm home (well, my toddler kind of dictates that) I don't have much to report, same as you guys have been saying. Sleep is still frustrating, but I"ve been trying to get outside a bit now the weather has given us a few really nice days.. that seems to help with a deeper sleep, so even though I wake up when I have to roll over etc, I'm tired enough to pass back out! Little lady has been very active the last few days, punching and kicking haha. My hubs has been able to feel it finally, which he loves. None that have made me yelp-yet- but I remember those from DS. The swift kick to the bladder or cervix or something...yipes!

@tinyperson: We're doing the transition to Big Boy bed and room in three weeks! Ah! Totally off topic for this thread but I"m starting to freak a little! Did you change rooms? I'm torn between making it fun and enticing and not wanting to tempt him to get out of bed and play.

  27. tinyperson

    pomegranate / 3858 posts

@HazelEyes: No we didn't change rooms - we only have a 2 bedroom, so LO1 is staying where she is, and baby will be in our room. We just needed the crib, and wanted to start the transition early. We haven't really played up the "you can get up and play in your room or get a drink of water all by yourself." I figure she'll figure that out on her own eventually The past two mornings she's called for us (yesterday when the sun came up on her clock, like she's supposed to, and today, when she had to go pee like 10 minutes earlier than she should be calling us).

I posted this on the April board too, but my OB caught me having some mini contractions on the monitor on Friday (I didn't know I was having them!). I got sent to the hospital for further monitoring and tests but all is okay. I have an "irritable uterus" and they think dehydration triggered them. I now know what they feel like after hours of watching the monitor, so I can keep an eye out. I'm just going to take it easy and hydrate like crazy!

  29. Autumnmama79

    pear / 1703 posts

@YogiRunner: Crazy! Were you able to feel or recognize them at all?

  30. HazelEyes

    clementine / 811 posts

@tinyperson: Ahh, gotcha. We're keeping the nursery a nursery, but are going to want the crib as well. We havent PT yet, so I guess we're just going to close the door to his room and worry about access to the bathroom later! I hope it keeps going smoothly for you!

@YogiRunner: yikes, kind of scary. Glad everything seemed ok and hope it stays that way!

I had a NASTY charlie horse last week. I had never had one before. It was so awful. I screamed in the middle of the night and it had me limping all day. I think it was dehydration so I'm really trying to get back to being diligent about my water intake.

  31. tinyperson

    pomegranate / 3858 posts

@HazelEyes: those leg cramps in the middle of the night are awful! I haven't had one yet this time around, but last time, I had quite a few, and I was limping for a few days with most of them. Here's hoping you don't get any more!

  32. YogiRunner

    clementine / 849 posts

@Autumnmama79: I was shocked when she said I was having contractions! Baby was moving a TON but I didn't feel contractions. Then at the hospital, I had them for a few hours before they calmed down (after I drank gallons of juice and water). I ended up learning what they felt like after watching the monitor... they feel like a very focused area of tightness that lasts 10 or so seconds. I had probably mistaken the feeling for baby movement. I am still getting them but not too often. Not too worried because my cervix didn't change and the FFN test was negative (if it's positive you have a 50/50 chance of going into labor soon, if negative it's 1%). I haven't been exercising vigorously (just slow walks with the dog and yoga) but am thinking of just slowing down a bit.

  33. YogiRunner

    clementine / 849 posts

@HazelEyes: I feel like more water is the answer to everything these days. That charlie horse sounds pretty awful. Drink up! I wonder if potassium would help too?

  34. Autumnmama79

    pear / 1703 posts

@YogiRunner: Whats the FFN test?! I'm constantly worrying about going into labour early.

  35. HazelEyes

    clementine / 811 posts

@tinyperson: tell me about it. I have had foot cramps before, but this was a whole other level!

@YogiRunner: I had two bananas the next day!

  36. YogiRunner

    clementine / 849 posts

@Autumnmama79: Oh I didn't mean to make anyone worry! My doc sent me in just to be super cautious. This is my first experience but apparently when they're the real deal and actually lead to labor, they are a LOT more obvious. The fFN test is the "fetal fibronectin" test, they swab near your cervix to test for a certain protein that indicates a chance of preterm labor. If it's negative, you pretty much have nothing to worry about. That on top of no changes in your cervix means the contractions most likely aren't leading to preterm labor.

  37. Autumnmama79

    pear / 1703 posts

@HazelEyes: @tinyperson: Man I've had some killer nighttime leg cramps - the pain!! I try to drink as much water as I can but more water just means even more trip to the bathroom, if thats even possible!!

@YogiRunner: You didn't make me worry, its just my most recent fear lol. I had never heard of that test, it kind of sounds like an early warning system! I remember contractions with DD, you'll definitely know when those bad boys show up - ouch!

Posting at 2 am... Pregnancy insomnia strikes again! Our whole house got hit with the flu last week. It was miserable! I had to go get monitored for a few hours because baby hadn't moved all day and I had a 102 fever. Luckily all was fine and we're on the mend, except I have bronchitis! Every time I cough I get round ligament pain.

@HazelEyes: @tinyperson: We moved our 2 year old to a big girl bed a couple months ago. I was super stressed about it but she's totally fine! We taught her "no feet on the floor until mommy or daddy comes to get you" because I don't want her wandering the house when we're asleep. Shockingly it has worked!

@My Only Sunshine: Insomnia is real and it sucks! Sorry you're suffering too. Add a house full of sickies and high fever - that is rough! Scary about the baby not moving, little bugger, glad all was fine. Hope your bronchitis clears up soon!!

@My Only Sunshine: I'm battling a cold right and when I cough I get pain under my belly on the right side and by my ribs. Plus a little pee! Baby kicks me like crazy so I know she is ok. Guess it's round ligament pain? ugh I need this cold to be over with.
    Hope you are feeling better!
