Hi!
We've been home for eight days now. Loving being a mom of two. We took DD1 is for her two year well visit this morning and had DD2's weight checked... Back to birth weight! L really didn't like them looking at the baby and then was a terror for the rest of the appointment. I had originally planned to go by myself but am so thankful that DH came.
C is sleeping far better than expected.

Is it awful that I started doing work things on Saturday and now I've spent two hours working on client work? I couldn't stay away, especially while she's napping.

@pmrlady: Such an easy way to tell how old LO is! Hah, we've only had two people bring food but tons of visits. FIL came over last night after driving three hours to see her for the first time. I think that's the end of visitors until my family decides to show up, whenever that'll be!

@Cupcake: So sweet!!! I can't wait to see a picture like that of E and this baby! Was your oldest around any babies previously? E will be 19 1/2 months and I feel like whatever I say about "his baby" coming home isn't really going to register. I'm worried about jealousy.

Anyone else find that their baby is especially fussy in evening or early night?

J sleeps beautifully during the day and after 3am but from like 10pm to 3am she becomes a different baby. During the day she eats about every 2.5 to 3 hours but during that time she seems to want to eat every hour. And it's so frustrating because she wants to eat but then after only a few minutes she falls asleep and it's so hard to keep her awake. But then when I put her down in the bassinet she wakes up and starts crying. Changing her diaper, burping, and rocking doesn't seem to help. She spits out the pacifier too. So I end up taking her to bed with me and putting her on my chest. She falls asleep right away like that but I'm too scared to fall asleep myself even though I'm exhausted because I don't know if it's safe.
Eventually I'm able to put her down in the bassinet around 3am and after that she's fine.

@HappyBaker: we've been in size 1 since henry was born. Thankfully I didn't open any of the newborn diapers, and was able to exchange them.

H sleeps so well during the day, but once I move him into the dark quiet room at night, he's up within minutes, and takes at minimum of an hour to put back down. I think I'm gonna break down and get another sound machine for our room. We're still trying to get a tag team routine, but it's so hard with H! With ds1, dh would get up and change baby, then pass him to me. But we can't seem to do that with H because he literally poops the minute he starts eating, I mean within seconds of latch on both sides! He's a pooping machine. I feel like he never has a clean dipe because he pees and poops so much!

@HappyBaker: at target, I had no problem. I just told them I couldn't use the size, and she gave me a gift card for the amount. I've always imagined girl dipes being more difficult- having to worry about all the folds and which direction your headed! LOL:)

@HappyBaker: we moved up to size ones when we came home. We used up the newborn pack from the hospital but didn't get any more than that. Can you return any of them?

Two nights ago C cluster fed at 4,5,6,7,8 pm and then again in the am. She generously slept six hours between cluster sessions but now that she's back on a normal feed/sleep schedule I'm waking up soaking in milk. I know this is a good problem to have but man my boobs hurt!

@HappyBaker: We're still in NB which sucks because I have a ton of size 1 diapers. We've been introducing bottles since I've started pumping and she can take a whole 3 oz no problem.

@Happygal: My cat is really doing terribly. She keeps puking. I'm not sure how to ease Ber anxiety about losing "her" space. She's great when people are over but then she just gets weird.

@oliviaoblivia: Ugh I started soaking through my top this morning lol. I need sponges for nipple pads.

@HappyBaker: yeah for a great stretch at night. J went from 10pm-3am today so that definitely helped since the night before in the hospital I didn't get to much sleep.

My milk already came in yesterday and that poor girl is just drowning in it. But she's doing remarkably well so far when it comes to BF so hope it continues to go that way.

@HappyBaker: We are still using NB diapers but J was on the smaller side at 6 lb, 9oz at the last check up.

@Cupcake: @HappyBaker: Same here with all the poops. Although J actually doesn't mind sitting in poop but she doesn't tolerate being wet. She also screams bloody murder during diaper changes and flails her arms and legs which is kind of funny.

For those who are pumping and breastfeeding, when do you guys pump? I try to pump the other breast when LO just nurses from one, but if she nurses from both sides then I skip the pumping because I don't want to create an oversupply....Also I've found that my output varies by a lot. Sometimes I'm able to get 1 and a half ounces from a session but then at other times I only get like 1/2 an ounce. Weird.

@pmrlady: I'm starting to pump after she feeds. Generally she goes one side at a time so I just pump the other side.

@pmrlady: I have only pumped once, and that was because H slept for 4hours. I only pumped one side, and I got 5 ounces.

@oliviaoblivia: H's came off at 6days. It got caught on my sweater at his weight check appt. The dr said, it must have been ready. I felt so bad though, and he didn't even make a peep. I was waiting in the exam room and looked down and saw this nasty stain on my shirt. I was like I can't believe I left the house in this shirt. Then I realized what it was and there his little stump was dangling off my shirt. It was disgusting!

@keepcalmcarrie: glad to hear that H is b ing an easy baby for you. J so far is a breeze too. She'll cry once she's hungry and that's it. We shall see how it continues...

I hear you on the uncomfortableness in the breast department. My milk already came in Monday and I had really hoped that not having to pump etc. would prevent the major oversupply issues I had with B but no such luck. I talked to my aftercare midwife about it today and we decided to have me start drinking sage tea in order to get my supply down. I've also been blockfeeding pretty much from the get go so I really hope with all that in place I'll start to feel better again.

We were really lucky when it came to Billirubin this time since both times it was checked she was at 0! Everyone kept repeating the test to make sure the machine wasn't broken
She did fail her newborn hear screening though. Everyone told us to not worry she surely just has some fluids in her ears and to let it get repeated with a pediatric audiologist in a week or so. We're all sure she can hear because whenever someone coughs she startles.
