@sweetooth: What site/book/app are you using? I was never a kumquat!
@Ash: Yesyesyes! Fantastic feeling.

@MrsTiz: Yayy! Haha I would also go with peach! Shrimp and pea pod seem so small in comparison to a peach! Must be a jumbo shrimp

@MrsTiz: I have an android app... "I'm expecting" and it uses kumquat. :))

Is anyone else worried whether everything is going OK with their baby/pregnancy? I had an ultrasound at 7w6d and my next will be at 12w5 days (a little less than two weeks away) and I can't help but feel anxious! Nothing has happened to make me think that things aren't proceeding normally except that I'm not nauseous anymore (I never had bad morning sickness to begin with, luckily).
Anyone else??
honeydew / 7909 posts
@Cara M. 17: I'm always nervous! It's normal. I use the doppler once a week to check on baby and it's really helped the nerves. I had my u/s at 9 weeks and I don't get another until 20 so I needed something to help me feel better. Plus, it's an amazing experience between me and dh to listen to the baby for a few minutes.

@Ash: which one did you buy? I was thinking about getting one. Some people say not to waste money on it, but I know it will make me so much less anxious which is better for me and baby!

@Cara M. 17: I got the same one being sold on the classifieds by jennimac.

@Cara M. 17: Me! I had an ultrasound at my first appointment when I was 10 weeks, and I won't have another one until the 20 week anatomy scan (I'm almost 14 weeks now). I definitely have my moments where I worry if everything is okay--sometimes I think, "How do I know if there's even a baby in there?!"
clementine / 825 posts
@DigAPony: Yes, exactly! Some days I'm like, am I really pregnant? I guess we all just have to stay positive and assume all is well unless our bodies tell us otherwise.

Omg, so much to catch up on here! But I'm happy to report that I finally took the time and found Cricket's heartbeat with a borrowed Doppler yesterday!!!! Before supper it was around 144 and then after supper (I wanted to see if I could really find it again or if it was just luck the first time) and some ice cream, it was all the way up at 172- Cricket loves some ice cream apparently! But it made me feel good to find it after only 5-10 minutes since I'm basically out of state indefinitely and I'm not sure when I'll get to see my midwife and have another prenatal.

Ooooooooooohhhhhhhhhhhh myyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy gooooooooooooooooooooooooooosh!
We're out with our families. What a relief but I was soooooo nervous to tell. Only stipulation is I didn't want anything posted on facebook. I don't plan on outing myself on fb either. I'll attach the photo I texted to our families. :))
And I spoke too soon regarding the nausea. I, all of a sudden, am getting motion sickness now. Booooooo! So now that our families know, DH's sister recommended seabands. We booked it to town last night to pick some up and they seem to help a little.... a little!!
ETA: sorry the pic is sideways... :((
grapefruit / 4681 posts
@Ash: Yay! Are you going to post on FB at all? I'm not big on personal info on FB, but I was thinking about posting once we know the sex and letting everyone know that way. I also had a similar thing with my morning sickness with DS...I basically had morning sickness from 7-8 weeks and then again later like 13-15 weeks, but we were in St. Lucia and roads are CRAZY over there and motion sickness really kicked in between driving and the airplane rides! I wish I had something like sea bands for that trip. ETA: Cute picture!!
Most of our immediate families know....only exception is my oldest brother and his family because I haven't had the chance to tell them with everything going on with him. Other than that our closest friends and our one neighbors know. If anyone I haven't told asks or says something that insinuates TTC or babies I will tell them, but at this point just taking it on a need to know basis. We basically did that with DS too outside of telling our family and friends.

@Ash: So cute!!!
I think we're going to facebook post tonight (13 weeks and 3 days). We've told everyone we wanted to (close family, friends, etc.), and the word is gettin' out (which is totally fine, but I just don't want someone to post something to facebook without me!)! I don't think we'll do anything crazy, probably just an ultrasound picture (I have all of 105 facebook friends, and pretty much everyone has found out already!).
My zits have stuck around and don't seem to be going...anywhere. I've also been super stuffy, but not sure if I should blame the baby or allergies! And then I have that awful lower right back pain...ouch. Otherwise, nothing crazy at all!

@Ash: So freaking cute!!
I outed us on FB just because we have so many farflung people -- after the important ones knew it was easier just to let social media do the talking, haha. That and our parents were eager to share so it was our way of giving them the go ahead.
My nausea seems to be clearing a bit but I still suffer if I forget my meds. Other than that... I think I'm getting a bump that's here to stay. It's so disconcerting when I look in the mirror!
pomegranate / 3160 posts
@MrsDragon: OMG, same here (on the bump front)! I officially can't "suck it in" anymore and I'm down to ONE SINGLE PAIR OF PREMATERNITY PANTS...and those are far from comfortable...

sorry thread stalker...
@Ash:I love your reveal!!! so happy and excited for you!!!

@ms.janedoe: Me too, one pair of normal pants! I think I have a 2nd that would still work, but they only look good with boots and boots weather is over. I'm not sure other people can notice yet, but I can definitely see a baby bump, especially in certain outfits.
Oh, and for anyone looking for something super comfy - motherhood leggings are so amazingly awesome. I am really hating maternity jeans because they never stay up on me (guess the bump isn't big enough yet?) But the leggings are the most comfortable thing I've ever put on. They definitely make me look preggo though, so no wearing to work for a few more weeks.
cantaloupe / 6800 posts
@ms.janedoe: zits. oh god, the zits. I whined to DH the other day "I'm a pimply freaaaaak!" haha poor guy.
I have a ton of maternity pants/shorts but i'm trying to avoid them until I need them because I know towards the end that i'll be ready to get out of them.
honeydew / 7909 posts
@anbanan15: Nah, I have a lot of people on my facebook and the only people that I feel need to know are family and people we tell... I have told everyone so far to keep it off of facebook... I'm really not sure why I'm so against it.
@lilteacherbee: @MrsDragon: @ms.janedoe: thanks girls!!
I am also "bumpy"... as it full of bloat that I can't suck in! I had to use a rubberband to keep my pants buttoned the other day. And I"m zitty... I'm actually just a giant zit... Yuck!!
@MrsCastro: HIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Wish you were on the November boards with us. I will email you right NOW! :)) And thanks lady!! DH's sister called after she got the pic and said "DOES THIS MEAN WHAT I THINK IT DOES??" and started bawling. I still can't believe it's real!!
@MrsCB: Totally looking into these. Thanks!
@MrsTiz: Where'd you find the shorts? I NEED SHORTS!
grapefruit / 4681 posts
@Ash: haha my thought exactly on the whole FB thing. The ones that need to know are the people we already told as well and they either don't use FB or won't post anyway...btw I'm also weird about my LO's name being posted/used on FB and posting any pictures besides the occasional profile pic update. My one college friend came to see DS right after he was born and blasted her FB with pictures of him, his name and all tagged. I asked her to take them down and she said I was overreacting errrr. 2 years later and they are still up against my wishes.
honeydew / 7909 posts
@anbanan15: Oh heavens no!! I don't post pics of people's babies and I expect the same in return!! I just don't think it's eeeeeeeveryone's business to know we're expecting. My mom is so so excited and keeps asking if she can tell so and so and I always say yes but keep it off of facebook. I know people get excited but I'm kind of a private person and think some things should be kept quiet. A year later it will be like, SURPRISE we had a baby! Bahahahaha
nectarine / 2705 posts
@anbanan15: Oooh, I'd be so pissed if someone did that. You can always untag photos though, right? She really should honor your wishes and take them down.
@Ash: I'm pretty private too. I sometimes think that FB would be a great way to share the news, but then I think I'd rather control the sharing. As much as I can anyway. We're still only at 10w4d so I haven't shared with many people at all yet. Looking forward to my appointment next week where I'll feel like we can share once I see the baby again. BTW - LOVE your little announcement picture! And I hear ya on the nausea in the car. I tried to go out with my husband to run errands this weekend and I think the motion in the car made it worse. I spent a lot of time in the parking lot, sitting in the car just breathing. Bleh. I want to feel normal again.
@FarmWifeGina: YAY for heartbeats and babies who like ice cream
honeydew / 7909 posts
@sweetooth: that's my exact thought... controlling the sharing. we're only 11w2d but we've only told immediate family.
And yes, I've been doing lots of breathing through the nausea when it gets extreme. I thought it was getting better but surprise!
grapefruit / 4681 posts
@Ash: @Ash: I agree. And yes you can untag but all her people and if her security settings are not high then all her people's people can see them, kwim? There was a co-worker who posted pics of her daughter on FB and had some FB friends she didn't know in IRL and one of them stole all her pictures of her daughter and posted them on her blog as if this child was her own so I am super paranoid.
grapefruit / 4681 posts
@sweetooth: ahh I meant to reply you also in my last response but I replied to @Ash: twice! Haha that's what I get for posting on my phone
