So I totally just woke my husband up at 3am to inspect my morning sickness because I thought there was blood in it He informed me that it was just watermelon..
I think my morning sickness is getting worse. Last few days I have been actually sick multiple times throughout the day and not just in the am. I also think I am getting a cold. My nose suddenly started to run last night and my throat is killing me! Nice!

@Ash: I hope you are feeling better!! It's terrible! Naturally this would happen when I have to work and have no benefit time life (had to use it for DS)....I can't keep anything down and have a mild fever.

Our MT21 results are in! I missed the call, but apparently things look good! And hopefully I can get a hold of the genetic counselor and DH can pick up the results tonight to find out what we're having!!

@MrsCB: AAHH!! When did you have your test done? Wasn't it just last week? I'm dying for mine to come in!
SO happy they were good results!

@MrsTiz: Last monday! But now I'm getting disappointed that we might not find out today. Apparently she's driving around and hasn't picked up her voicemail, so I'm not sure if I'll hear from her today or not.

@MrsCB: holy crap! That give me hope because mine was 2 days after you. I am crossing fingers and toes that I find out this week so we will know for mothers day!

Okay, test results are good, and gender results are in! They're sitting in my inbox waiting until I see DH tonight! OMG I have no idea how to not look at it all day, lol. I already had to try really hard to mark it as read and not actually read it. I'll try to post back later tonight. I have a feeling it's a girl though, because she said the results aren't 100%. But if they see Y chromosomes it pretty much has to be a boy.
ETA: if nuchal scan on Monday looks good, then we only have a 1 in 40,000 for down's :D.

@MrsCB: holy smokes, how exciting! :))
I feel like I'm the only one who didn't have any testing done... I declined everything they offered us...

@anbanan15: I am feeling better. My throat only hurt for a couple days but I still have a stuffy nose (allergies or pregnancy, I don't know). Hope you start feeling up to par soon!

@Ash: I haven't had much testing done. Just basic bloodwork and an early ultrasound bc of the spotting I had. Next week's ultrasound is for dating purposes, but they will also look at the nuchal fold.

@MrsCB: Wow so exciting!
@Ash: We declined all testing awesome. I had an early dating ultrasound and blood work but we declined all first trimester screening.
I'm feeling a little better. Was able to eat a little something at least. I'm glad you are feeling better though! It's so tough to know what is related to pregnancy or not sometimes.

@MrsTiz: Not yet, the email is sitting in my inbox! I'm going to wait until DH and I get home tonight and then we'll open it together. Can't wait for today to be over!

@MrsCB: ahhhh!!! You are strong, lady!! I'm so excited for you! So how many days did it take for you to get the results?
coconut / 8472 posts
@lilteacherbee: It took just over a week! I had it done last Monday, and the genetic counselor got the results yesterday (Tuesday). So they basically took 5 business days to process it. I can't wait for everyone else to get their results too! Luckily it's not *too* hard to wait, because I really do want to find out with DH. I don't want to know and then tell him. So it'll have to wait :).

Hello my fellow November mamas! I wrote about this over on the appointments thread, and have a longer post on the pregnancy boards if you want more detail.
We had a little scare this AM with some bleeding. I was able to get in for an ultrasound this morning and everything is ok. Saw the baby move and heard the heartbeat for the first time Looks like I had some subchorionic bleeding. I'm supposed to take it easy now. I just hope that my first OB/GYN appointment next week brings even more good news.
This baby making stuff is so scary sometimes.

@Ash: We declined everything too! My doc basically said that at my age there isn't much of a risk, and anything HUGE will come up on the anatomy scan anyway. We may end up seeing a geneticist but I plan to turn down any of their tests, too (aside from if they can find out if I'm a hemophilia carrier through my blood, not testing any part of baby). We do plan to find out the sex though.
@sweetooth: Hopefully that next appointment will be nice and reassuring!!
Today I took the day off work and decided I'd try skipping all of my nausea meds (other than the dose I took last night). I feel a little gross but pretty good! If I make it to the end of the night without feeling horrible I'm going to try skipping the nighttime dose and the rest of tomorrow's meds.

@MrsDragon: @Ash: I won't lie, our main motivation was wanting to know the gender. And secondarily, I wanted to know ASAP if we weren't dealing with a healthy child. I'm 35 and even though it's not like your body goes through a sudden change on a certain date, I do have a higher risk for things.
I felt like I would need the maximum time to decide if the baby wasn't viable and would need to be terminated (if they would have awful quality of life or not make it to birth) or if they would be living with something like downs I wanted to know and be prepared to not have the child I envisioned.

@MrsCB: Totally understandable! If it were all up to me I probably would have done the NT screen but my husband didn't want to, and I'd probably turn down any more invasive testing if we got less than stellar results so I'd just stress.

@MrsDragon: I hope that the nausea fades away for you and that you don't need the meds anymore. Let us know how it goes as you continue to ease off the meds.
