@MrsDragon: I haven't felt anything yet either! My midwife said I might feel movement earlier because I was small to begin with, but we'll see.

I felt a few 'pop' kinda sensations in my belly this morning but I honestly can't differentiate it between everything else my stomach does! I definitely haven't felt anything definitive. But a lot of people I know didn't feel anything 'till around 20 weeks so I'm not holding my breath.

I think I feel movement every once in awhile. But nothing bug or for sure. I can't wait to be 25 weeks and be feeling all those bigger, unmistakeable movements! For those girls who haven't felt anything yet- don't worry, you're not weird or out if the norm! Soon, I promise!

So, I think we're down to two girl name choices: Willow Grace or Rosalie Grace. We really, really, REALLY love Willow, but Rosalie is pretty too and I think it fits with our other children's names a little better (Gabriel and Desirae- Gabe and Desi to all who love them). Willow could be Willie (which I personally think is super cute on a little girl), but Rosie is also cute (and my mom's {who I'm not close with at all, but still} name is Rosanne and my grandma called her Rosie). But my grandma's (my favorite grandma) name was Wilma and that's kind of close to Willow, ya know? Lol. I don't think we'll decide for sure until the anatomy scan because, who knows, maybe we won't even have to pick a girl's name.

@FarmWifeGina: Looooove Willow. I loved (well, still do!) the name Willa/Willow, but we have a "W" last name, so there's no way it'd work for us. Boo.

@FarmWifeGina: pretty names! Grace will be our middle name for a girl. :))

@FarmWifeGina: Ooh that is tough. I LOVE Willow/Willa/Willie but I do agree that Rosalie sounds nice with your LO's names.
Do you have 2 LO's now or 3? I don't know why I thought this was your 4th!

@Ash: Such a pretty middle name we've chosen.
@T.H.O.U.: I like Willa, but I highly DH would go for it. Not only that, but his family had a family friend named Willa and it would totally be associated with her. Although, in the Pennsylvania Dutchified Lancaster Co. accent, Willow is sure to sound a little more like Willa anyways, lol. Hmmmmm... Gotta run everything through the Dutchified filter in my head.
@MrsTiz: Nope, this is our 3rd. #4 may or may not come in another 2 years.

@MrsTiz: Not anymore, but used to. Farmer Man's family and a bunch of my family still lives there. @anbanan15: lives there too. FYI, that show is ridiculous and totally not realistic. Nat Geo's Amish: Out Of Order was waaaaaay better, IMO.
cantaloupe / 6800 posts
@FarmWifeGina: I watch all of those shows, DH doesn't get the appeal but I want to see Amish people so badly lol! I can't stand that guy (Mose's) voice. I think thats how all Amish peoples accents are?? Either way @anbanan15: you have just been voted to take some pictures of Amish people IRL so I can see
grapefruit / 4681 posts
@MrsTiz: haha Cracking me up!!! I can never understand why we have such a tourist season here...it's not that interesting lol. I know the shows are fake, but I still love watching them! DH makes fun of me.

@MrsTiz: Aw, I love Mose! We're related, I'm pretty sure. My maiden name was Gingerich and I come from some very strong Iowa Amish stock on that side. But yep, Dutchified accents are pretty much all the same, although the Lancaster Co. accent is a little different and more annoying, lol, IMO. But I've always lived near and around Amish, so I'm pretty immune to their charms, haha.

So my doctor told me Wednesday that he'd likely call later that day to tell me when my anatomy scan appointment was. Nobody called, nobody called yesterday either, so I left a message last night asking them to call me today... and still nothing. I know I need to call them again but it's really, really causing me a whole bunch of anxiety and stress. I don't understand why this keeps happening (I went six weeks between appointment #1 and #2 because they were supposed to call, didn't, and I waited two weeks before checking in). I like my doctor, in person at the appointments, but I don't know where the ball is being dropped with the scheduling and it's driving me insane... just need to vent I guess.

@MrsTiz: we live near Amish too! I wanna steal their little kids... kidding, of course. Dh does a ton of work for them. I'll see if he will snap a pic for ya. Lol!

@MrsDragon: that sucks! I'd think the nurse is probably responsible for calling you back. I'd definitely say something.

@MrsTiz: LOL @ wanting to see a picture. They look pretty much the way they do on tv. I used to crack up in college, because we'd see menonites at Walmart all the time. They dress like the Amish, but they are less strict about technology, so they drive. Before I knew that I was like WTF did they ride a buggy here??
@MrsDragon: Wow, that is really crappy. Why don't they schedule things ahead of time? At my first appointment they put 3 or 4 things on the calendar, as far out as their system would let them. I've had my 18 week L2 anatomy scan booked since 8 weeks along.
As for me, we're going to do an elective ultrasound this weekend :). We didn't get to see very much at our 12 week and our pictures were horrible. We also are curious if they can confirm that it's a boy, though it's pretty certain it is.
I've also been having a ton of discomfort. My entire stomach is usually uncomfortable in one way or another. The bottom part hurts like I've been squishing it, and I've constantly got indigestion or lack of appetite. Oh, and I'm down almost 15 pounds! I saw the OB yesterday and she wasn't concerned about the weight thing. She'd said I'd probably start gaining at some point, but I was already overweight so it's not a big deal.

@MrsTiz: @MrsCB: LOL, I can dress up in my old clothes and give you pictures of an authentic Mennonite, if you're desperate. Born and baptized Mennonite right here.
cantaloupe / 6800 posts
@FarmWifeGina: @MrsCB: @Ash: Goodness! Am I the only one that doesn't live near Amish people?! @MrsCB: I had never heard of Mennonite until Breaking Amish!
@MrsDragon: Complain! I had trouble with my OB's staff so I told her directly. They can't fix what they don't realize is a problem. At your next appointment I would let your doctor know as well as schedule as many appts as you can right then and there

@MrsCB: @MrsTiz: Baha, I was mostly joking- I only have one dress (I cut the other ones up so I could use the fabric for dresses for Tractor Girl) and my hair is pretty short and hard to put up now.
cantaloupe / 6800 posts
@FarmWifeGina: Oh I wasn't expecting you to actually do it! How old is TG?
pear / 1571 posts
@MrsTiz: She's 2 and is so fun to dress. I'm not really girly-girly, and she definitely has a tomboy side, but she LOVES clothes! She jumps up and down and cheers when we're going to put on something pretty.
blogger / clementine / 985 posts
@Ash: @FarmWifeGina: @MrsCB: @MrsTiz: I called in and got the nice receptionist (and her name, and she told me I could ask directly for her next time!). She said they couldn't book it from there (it's at a separate clinic), as I suspected, but promised to send a message to my doctor, told me he tends to be a bit slow responding to messages (you think?!), and told me to call back on Wednesday if I haven't heard anything, though she took my cell # to call me back if/when she gets word from the doctor.
The whole system is kind of messed up. They only run with calendars a month or so in advance, so you literally can't book anything beyond their calendars. I tried to get a well woman exam before I found out I was pregnant and was told, "We don't have any exam slots left this month, you'll have to call back at the end of the month."

@FarmWifeGina: umm yup Willow = Willa-esque when I say it I think Rosalie is beautiful!
@MrsCB: I've been having weird stomach discomfort too...it's almost like constant cramps. I thought about round ligament pain, but it's all over. Yay! Hope your elective ultrasound goes well!
@MrsTiz: Have you heard of Brethern?
@MrsDragon: So frustrating! I'm glad you were able to get ahold of someone that seems to know what they are doing. My PCP is sort of like this...I called this morning for something that they said would be ready whenever I was and when I got there maybe 45 min later they acted like they had no clue what I was talking about and gave me something else.
blogger / clementine / 985 posts
@anbanan15: Yeah, I have literally never had someone call me from our clinic/hospital when they said they would (even had an ER doctor promise she would personally call me... she didn't). I was medicated for a kidney infection last year, they didn't call to tell me if I had an infection, and then I happened to find out I did after an appointment with a locum doc who read my entire file to me. It drives me nuts, so I'm kind of on guard with it this time around.
pear / 1571 posts
@anbanan15: Lol, NO offense to your accent!
And I had that stomach discomfort a few weeks ago too- I tend to think it's the uterus pushing the stomach and intestines up and everything being rearranged, abdominal muscles included. That's my theory, anyways.
cantaloupe / 6791 posts
Haha all this Amish talk is so interesting! I don't live near any Amish either. I remember visiting Pennsylvania as a child because my mom was/is fascinated by them.
@MrsDragon: Wow, that sounds so frustrating!! Hopefully, you'll hear back soon. When I passed out a few weeks ago, the on call doctor was supposed to call within 15 minutes and no one ever did.

@FarmWifeGina: raid-e-ater like gladiator
But I do say "pill-low" for pillow and clothe/clothes sounds more like "close" and fabric is more like "fav-brick".

@MrsTiz: Another Anabaptists religion that's very common around here and similar in ways to the Amish and Mennonites.
pear / 1571 posts
@anbanan15: I have Brethren cousins, lol. But they're just Middle Creekers now, not plain at all.
Now the only Anabaptists I live near now are the Hutterites. There's a colony about 20 miles from us. I wish sometimes that we had some Amish or Old Order Mennonites nearby so I could hire a plain teenage girl as a mother's helper.
grapefruit / 4681 posts
@FarmWifeGina: I was raised Brethern but certainly no where near plain! My paternal grandfather was raised Mennonite. There are so many different sects within these religions it's hard to tell sometimes who is what
