@ms.janedoe: Lol, no, compared to some of my farm wife friends, I'm totally not a badass.

@MrsDragon: Is the Winnipeg Ikea awesome? I want to go to the Ikea in the Twin Cities sometime this fall/winter (I want to get my new kitchen through them), but I have tons of family in Winnipeg and the cities and Winnipeg are both about 8 hours from us, so maybe I should just do that, haha. Although it might be kind of a pain to bring stuff over the border. I seriously love Winnipeg though.

@Cara M. 17: @ms.janedoe: Thank you. I will let you all know. We will get to at least see how baby is doing thus far Monday and then I see my midwife Tuesday and hopefully can put my mind at ease. I tend to be a worrier by nature and not being able to see/feel what's going on during pregnancy drives me nuts!
@FarmWifeGina: Not going to lie...reading your posts about being a "farm wife" and the "farm life" sends me back down memory lane...I walked away from that life twice with the same person and your posts bring me right back to that time...BUT DH is so much more awesome soooo yea I will pass on the cows and all
@MrsDragon: We travel to shop like that too (usually my mom and I. DH isn't into that stuff), but the big stores are a ways away. Just so much better than trying to find what you need at the tiny local stores. We have a small BRU, but it is nothing compared to some farther away so I would rather travel to them.

@anbanan15: Uh, sorry? Lol. I wouldn't have married a dairy farmer either. No way, no how.
And that's do funny that you travel to shop- when we're out there, I have something of a list and I'm hitting up Park City and DH is hitting up Paul B's, lol.
grapefruit / 4681 posts
@FarmWifeGina: haha no need to be sorry! It's just funny how those comments bring me back to that. And umm no way either. He wanted me to be a stay at home wife (and at the time drop out of college). No kids, no pets, just milking the cows. Ha! I wouldn't mind being a complete SAHM though
Yes. I'm not a fan of our local stores and don't think they are that great, so we almost always travel to shop!

@anbanan15: Oh wow, no kids?! Dude was serious about his hummies, lol.

@FarmWifeGina: haha yes! Someone recently told me he got married years ago and that they have no children. I always wanted at least 2 kids.

I just want to say that I have never been as indecisive with a paint color as I am being about the nursery! I have picked every color in our house bc DH is red/green colorblind and can't make out subtle differences in colors. But for some reason I'm making this decision so much harder than it needs to be! I guess I just want to create the perfect room for Baby M! Here's the color I looking at. It's a light gray but I can't decide if it's the right shade. Ugh! Please tell me it's the hormones?!

@FarmWifeGina: It's pretty good! I haven't been to an IKEA in like 4 years though so I don't have much to compare to... I've only been to the one in Ottawa (before they made it huge) and one in the GTA. My feet definitely hurt after walking through the Winnipeg one.
@Cara M. 17: I like it! We're also going to do a light gray.
grapefruit / 4681 posts
@Cara M. 17: I like it! Is it the bottom swatch or a mix of the two? Either way it is pretty! Light enough that whatever other colors you bring in will pop, but still adds color to the walls in a subtle way.

@MrsDragon: I love gray! So calming.
@anbanan15: It's actually the lower swatch but I think it looks a little different on the wall.
grapefruit / 4681 posts
@Cara M. 17: I thought it was the lower one, but it sort of looked in between the two colors on the wall. I always think the colors look different on the walls anyway. Looks great!

@Cara M. 17: I like lighter gray, definitely. I wish, for your decision's sake, that it looked a little more like the swatch! But I think it's a nice gray. What other colors will you do?
clementine / 825 posts
@anbanan15: Yes, it does look in between. We definitely needed to test bc grays can look green or blue depending on the lighting too.
@Mrs. J: Thanks! Here are pics of our bedding choices for girl and boy.

hi ladies! we had our anatomy scan yesterday and found out that we are having a little boy! The tech said she was completely sure as he was very proud to show off for us! We are so thrilled!
This was our first ultrasound since 8 weeks when we saw the heartbeat and I'm still in shock at what a complete little person I have growing inside me. I think overnight the nesting urges settled in because I absolutely can't wait to start shopping for baby goodies now!

@MrsTiz: Gasp! It's gorgeous!! I have bag envy
Sometimes I wish I went with that over the navy Weekender, as it is my first Danzo love, but I'm not sure it would have been big enough for 2 under 3 + 1 in CD's fulltime. How does the size look to you?
cantaloupe / 6800 posts
@anbanan15:
Well, it is pretty big, which isn't an issue for me because I am the queen of big purses, but this sucker is HEAVY. I was surprised at how much weight it has when it's empty! The box says 5.8 lbs shipped but it feels like way more. I don't think it's so heavy that I won't like it though, i'm going to carry it around tonight to be sure
It's beeaaautiful though!

@MrsTiz: I LOVE it!!!!
@Ash: Me toooo! I've been feeling it for a couple days now pretty consistently, but I just felt him kick from the outside!! Such a crazy feeling!!!
grapefruit / 4681 posts
@MrsTiz: It looks good on you! Wow...I thought the quality and feel of the bags reminded me of a Dooney and Bourke? I guess that comes at an extra weight
When I asked around before people said it was big but not that wide inside for CDing. The overall dimensions are only slightly bigger than the bag I used with DS and that was always overflowing with CD's! The Weekender is like a carry-on though!!

@Ash: awesome! feeling kicks has been such an awesome turning point in this whole pregnancy thing. they make me smile every single time!

@lilteacherbee: thank you!
@MrsCastro: It is, it's the San Ysidro hobo, in "grass green"!
@Ash: oh yayyy! How exciting!
@lilteacherbee: you felt it outside? I'm jealous! I've been feeling steady movement from 18 weeks, i'll be 20 tomorrow and haven't felt squat outside! I want DH to feel

@MrsTiz: major diaper bag envy... let me know how the straps feel on your shoulder when you weigh it down with stuff...i am scared of straps digging in my shoulder...

@Ash: @lilteacherbee: Oh, I'm so jealous of you guys! I keep waiting and waiting to feel something. I thought I might've felt something yesterday morning, but I was also still half asleep, so I might've imagined it.
@MrsTiz: LOVE the way it looks.
cantaloupe / 6791 posts
@MrsTiz: I happened to have my hand on my belly, pretty low where I usually feel the flutters. I felt movement on the inside and at the same time I felt a little pop where my hand was. So crazy! Of course DH is out of town until Sunday!

I think I'm probably the last one on the boards to feel a kick!
@MrsCastro: It's hard to explain... I've spent the last few minutes trying to put it into words with no luck. Hahaha! It's similar to a gas bubble but it was like a big bubble popped! I felt something similar the other day but wasn't for sure. (Side note: Isn't that bag groegous? They had it in red on MyHabit last night. What kind are you wanting to get?)
@lilteacherbee: @sarah.clarisse: @MrsTiz: I love it! I think I have some time before it becomes consistent. I'm only 17w5d (or 18w according to my midwife).
cantaloupe / 6800 posts
@Ash: How I describe it to DH is that feeling you get when you go down a rollercoaster, how your stomach drops..but in one place. It still feels like that 2 weeks later!
honeydew / 7909 posts
@MrsCB: That's how mine was the other day. I was like, "was it or wasn't it?" It's really not super obvious!!
@anbanan15: I can't wait til they are consistent! Finally, at almost 18 weeks, I'm actually feeling pregnant and the nerves are starting to settle down.
I can't believe how fast the time is going!
honeydew / 7909 posts
@MrsTiz: That's a good way to explain it!! As I was trying to tell MrsCastro how it feels... I really do think it feels like a big bubble popping... weird, I don't know. Hahahaha! Disregard any obnoxiousness... I'm excited now!
