@sweetooth: How can you stop at just one baby outfit?! Such control!! Can't wait to hear how things go!

@DigAPony: There are no Bradley Method classes within 75 miles of us Thanks for the book recommendation! What kind of crib and glider did you get?

I updated with some detail over on the appointments thread - but I thought I'd share here - I'm team BLUE! Baby boy sweetooth!

@Cara M. 17: we got a white Graco Charleston crib and a white Shermag glider...got a great deal! Bummer about no Bradley classes--I'm trying to get my hands on a student workbook so my husband and I can do it at home. Haven't had any luck yet though.

Anybody else feel braxton hicks yet? I was laying down and felt my tummy get super tight. Weird feeling but no pain and it only happened once. Thinking it was bh.
clementine / 825 posts
@sweetooth: Yay how exciting! Do you have any name or nursery ideas for baby boy?
@DigAPony: Yeah I am pretty bummed I'll have to do lots of reading.
@Ash: Maybe it was round ligament pains? Or are you dehydrated?
honeydew / 7909 posts
@Cara M. 17: probably dehydrated! Definitely not rlp. I'm drinking a ton of water and gonna check the baby. I googled it - says it's normal for second trimester. Just freaks me out.
clementine / 825 posts
@Ash: I'm sure you're fine drink lots of water! My midwife said if you're dehydrated it brings on contractions.
honeydew / 7909 posts
@Cara M. 17: I'm drinking water like it's going out of style. I had just woke up from a nap and hadn't drank nearly enough before laying down. Thanks for making me feel better!

@Ash: I think I've been getting BH's for a while already. I notice them more when I'm dehydrated. Today actually. I'm going to ask my midwife about them at my appt on Tuesday.
They freak me out but everything I have read says they are normal.
nectarine / 2705 posts
@Cara M. 17: I have some nursery ideas for a boy. Probably a color palette and some patterns like lines, chevrons or dots. We're going to be in Chicago next week so I hope to stop by the Land of Nod store for more inspiration!
@Ash: No braxton hicks here, but I hope you're feeling better today. Keep drinking water like it's going out of style
honeydew / 7909 posts
@sweetooth: Thanks! I didn't have any more... I have been a peeing machine but definitely not letting that happen again. I felt so guilty letting myself get so dry.
@sarah.clarisse: that's what I read too... I even looked them up in the book my midwife gave me and it said normal but I hate thinking I did something wrong. My appointment isn't for 11 more days so if you would, can you let me know what your midwife say. Thanks!

@Ash: My What to Expect App said that it's normal to start feeling them around 22 weeks so it could be!
honeydew / 7909 posts
@MrsTiz: I'm close enough to 22 weeks lol! I'm sure it's fine but it did scare me! I've been drinking more water which I shouldve been doing anyways.

@Ash: What did the BH contractions feel like?! So crazy, one of my books/apps/something said that contractions were totally normal as were leaky boobs--just your body "practicing!" So. Freaking. Weird.
honeydew / 7909 posts
@ms.janedoe: Oh boy... no boob leakage here! Hahaha! Re: braxton hicks... My belly got super tight. No pain. Just tight. It lasted a few seconds. I really think it was because I was dehydrated though because I haven't felt them since. I don't think...
blogger / clementine / 985 posts
No BH, no leakage, haha! In fact baby seems to have slowed down. I don't feel her as much now. I think she moved lower, and with my anterior placenta I'm really not feeling much of anything these days.
coconut / 8472 posts
At 19w2d, I still don't have any movement I can easily identify as baby. I don't have an anterior placenta, either :-S. I keep wondering when I'm going to noticeably feel him.
My shower is now less than 3 weeks(!) because that's the only date my friends could coordinate together. DH and I have been stalking the registry like crazy, cuz that's how we roll.
honeydew / 7909 posts
@MrsDragon: I still only feel little bubbles occasionally but I haven't had my u/s to know if I have an anterior placenta or not. Bah!
@MrsCB: Eeeeeek! How exciting!!
persimmon / 1386 posts
@MrsCB: I am 22w3d and I only started to feel her move last week. She took awhile, but now I am feeling her pretty regularly and even a few times on the outside. Hopefully you will start to feel him soon!
coconut / 8472 posts
@Ash: How can you tell if the bubbles are the baby or just your stomach?? My stomach is constantly in turmoil, so I have no idea what's him and what's not. Sometimes I think it might be him, but I don't want to get excited over what might be a gas bubble.
coconut / 8472 posts
@NeekieRose: Wow, do you have an anterior placenta? I was figuring by 20 weeks I'd definitely be feeling something. He moves around a LOT, so it's weird that i can't feel him.
*As I type this I just felt a weird pop and now I'm wondering if it was him or breakfast...
cantaloupe / 6800 posts
@MrsDragon: I'm glad i'm not the only one who isn't feeling him anymore! From 18 weeks on I felt him all day (basically) everyday, now at 21 weeks I feel like one or two movements a day. Which doesn't make sense because now the movements are stronger, so I should feel them more, right??
@MrsCB: how exciting! Are people actually marking things off as purchased?? I'm about to wall you mine for your advice if you don't mind?
coconut / 8472 posts
@MrsTiz: Yup, we've had some things marked as purchased. DH is obsessive about checking, lol. Of course, some people could be buying things and not marking them off the registry, which would annoy the crap out of me! Happy to critique if you want :).
honeydew / 7909 posts
@MrsCB: I say it was him! That's how it felt for me. I can definitely tell a difference between a gas bubble and baby if I really focus.
persimmon / 1386 posts
@MrsCB: I do have an anterior placenta, but it is also super low (actually way too close to the cervix, but it will hopefully move up, otherwise my midwives have already said I would have to be transferred to an OB, but that's a different story). Anyways, since it's super low, I have felt her at the top of my bump, where the placenta isn't.
coconut / 8472 posts
@Ash: If it was, I might be able to tell the difference. This was on the right side, pretty low down. And just a pop. A lot of the times a gas bubble will feel like it's moving more, if that makes sense, so this was a little different. Exciting!
blogger / clementine / 985 posts
@Ash: I started feeling bubbles around 16 weeks, maybe, but it took up to 20 weeks to really feel it frequently! And in the last week and a half it's just stopped.
@MrsTiz: I got so freaked out by not feeling her anymore that I took out the Doppler -- I had stopped using it once I started feeling her -- and figured out that she moved down, right on top of my bladder. So I'm not sure if that explains it? I was feeling her up around my belly button before she moved. I read that this is still the time frame where they have lots of room to move around so they're active but not necessarily being active in a way that can be felt frequently.
honeydew / 7909 posts
@MrsCB: Sounds exactly like the first time I noticed a kick! Kick, baby, kick!! I'm excited for you!!
coconut / 8472 posts
@NeekieRose: That's interesting about the movement. I'm really hoping it gets stronger in the next couple weeks.
I have a friend who's 37 or 38 weeks right now and most of her pregnancy her placenta was really low and they were warning her she'd need a c-section most likely. A fews ago it moved and now she's cleared for a vaginal delivery! So it can happen :).
honeydew / 7909 posts
@MrsDragon: It would make sense with all the room they have right now that they're just swimming around and you will only feel an occasional kick. I don't even feel it daily... maybe every few, I think. I first felt it last week (or was it the week before?). I have a feeling my placenta is anterior but then again I won't know for 10.more.long.days!!! I always want to whip out the doppler these days because I feel like I should be feeling things more often than I do.
cantaloupe / 6800 posts
@MrsDragon: Same thing over here! I felt him kick right beside my belly button one day, which is high because i'm carrying really REALLY low, now if I feel any movement it's back down near my lady bits. I wish he'd wake up in there!
persimmon / 1386 posts
@MrsCB: Sounds like he has decided to make his presence known!
That's great about your friend. I'm pretty sure it will move, but the midwives are only giving me until 32 weeks for it to move, at which point if it hasn't they have to transfer me. I have another ultrasound next week to check. Which means I will get to see the baby again, which is always exciting!
cantaloupe / 6791 posts
@MrsTiz: me too! I started getting a bit worried. I used to feel him WAY down low, but I can tell that my uterus has been pushed further up, so I guess the anterior placenta is in the way now
OMG yesterday was horrible. I woke up feeling normal, just way tired. I went to work and almost passed out. My back started hurting really badly and I was so lightheaded. I drank a bunch of water and it helped a little. I ended up going home early and taking a long nap. Today I feel a lot better, but the top of my stomach has been burning like crazy. I have stomach issues anyway and the fact that everything has been pushed up is freaking me out a little.

What your body is doin' inside at about 20 weeks--I had no idea everything got mashed up that high already! @lilteacherbee: Your comment made me Google it!
ETA: No clue how "medically accurate" this is or anything...

@ms.janedoe: I just LOVE how our stomachs are already up behind our boobs, lol. So fun.
Anyone else having awful round ligament pain? I'm guessing mine is because it's my third pregnancy and things are just expanding so much faster, but those things HURT. I took a nap on the couch yesterday and when I moved to get up, it felt like my whole stomach seized up into a giant side stitch and just wouldn't let go. I was finally able to get up and walk it off, but I was sore and for the rest of the day, it felt like it was on the verge of doing it again. Yes, SO FUN. A friend of mine who's another pregnancy nerd reminded me that I'm at the beginning of a bug growth spurt and I was like oh, yeah. Although, I swear the size of my uterus has already doubled in the last few weeks. But yeah, couple that with the lovely symphysis pubic pain I've been having all the time and the fact that I ouch when I lift my leg to put on my pants or my undies and I'm seriously questioning my mother's sanity in having 10 pregnancies.

You guys, I know why I held off on letting myself buy anything for the baby...now that I know the sex of the baby I'm going NUTS! And there are all of these summer sales online, I can't control myself! Luckily we are traveling tomorrow so I will be away from the computer. But guess where we're going tomorrow at my request? Right off of the plane in Chicago directly to the Land of Nod store! Someone freeze my credit card, we haven't even begun purchasing the necessities yet!

@FarmWifeGina: No round ligament pain here. It does sound painful, the way you describe it. GLad to hear that walking helped you. And yes, 10 pregnancies sounds...wow...just wow!
@lilteacherbee: Glad you were able to take care of yourself yesterday and work through the pain. Does the stomach burning go away with food and/or water intake?

No baby kicks over here - but my ultrasound tech told me last week it will probably be a few more weeks before I feel anything. So I'm just trying to trust that.
