@FarmWifeGina: I get it occasionally and it stops me in my tracks! Sorry you're feeling yucky!
@sweetooth: that's the one thing I'm missing by being team green... I want to shop! Enjoy your time at Land of Nod.

@Ash: It's ok, I really don't feel *that* bad, it's just really, really painful when it flies in. I weeded the entire vegetable patch at the front of the house, so I must not be doing too poorly.

And I am COMPLETELY freaking out about our anatomy scan tomorrow morning! Eep, I just want it to BE HERE! I completely confess that I will have gender disappointment if it's a girl and I'm so, so nervous. And then I start freaking out over the fact that sometimes they can't even see to tell!!!!!! And this is my one and only chance to find out, as I'm not *planning* to have anymore ultrasounds with this pregnancy! I will die. I just want to know if I can get excited about having another boy, or start working through feelings so I can start getting excited about another girl. I am terrified of dealing with girl drama and competition. I wouldn't mind having another girl for our fourth child, but not two in a row. Oy, that just sounds so awful, I KNOW. I'm afraid I could never love another girl as much as I love Tractor Girl because she's just so cute and perfect. And I'm one of 7 girls, 5 of which were all in a row and I KNOW sister drama.

Anyone else still having morning sickness? Now that the sex of the baby has been confirmed I'm thinking my morning sickness was actually that and not an issue with the timing of taking my medicine...that and that fact that I am still getting sick BEFORE I take my pills. Before I didn't want to think "it's a girl because I have more morning sickness than DS" so I just blamed the meds haha.
Still no movement and no leakage. I'm not expecting movement for a few more weeks anyway.
@FarmWifeGina: Good luck tomorrow and enjoy the scan! You are not awful and only a few more hours until you can hopefuly find out. Hang in there!

@anbanan15: I'm still having nausea. I tried to stop my meds Sunday and spent the day feeling nauseous and having what I call "throw up burps" all day. Yuck! So I cut up some more b6 and unisom and figured I'd keep it going for a little while longer.

@FarmWifeGina: It's alright!!! I'm not complaining... I'll take whatever I'm given so long as I have a healthy little nugget baby in a few months!! Good luck today, mama! Let us know asap!

@Ash: I totally forgot to talk to my midwife about the Braxton Hicks during my appointment yesterday. This is what happens with my husband can't make it to an appointment! He always remembers to check the notes I jot down in my purse. oops! I'm going to stick with assuming everything is a-ok and try not to get dehydrated... which seems to bring them on a bit.
@anbanan15: My day long nausea has been gone since around week 16 (I'm almost 22 now) but I still have some pretty serious food & smell aversions. I've given up those ever going away. I'm pretty good all day but still have to convince myself to have an appetite at dinner. Food just sounds disgusting by then. Have you tried taking B6? My midwife suggested taking it at night for morning sickness and in the morning for evening sickness. It didn't seem to do much for me, but might be worth a try. I hope you feel better soon!
Yesterday I had my 21ish week appointment. Nothing to report - heartbeat was good and blood pressure was still spot on. I did schedule to have my midwife do my whooping cough vaccine at my next appointment. Is anyone else doing this? And I found out that I will be doing the glucose test two appointments from now. Not looking forward to that process!
We also started our Bradley Method classes last night. It was awesome! One of the former students also stopped by with her little one and told the birth story of her & her sister (last year) which were both home births. It was inspiring!

@sarah.clarisse: Ooooh, that's okay! My appointment is next week and I'm assuming they're all normal. I had another one today but I'm not worried. I'm probably having them more than I realize - I notice when I'm really paying attention. As for the whooping cough vaccine, I'm not huge on vaccinations, but I have to have it for my job so I'm already taken care of there. Just need to get DH on board with it and I think it's offered for free through our county health dept. YAY for a good appointment!!!

So I guess it's Team Green for us again! Boooo. If the tech had to guess, she said girl, but that was only really based on the absence of anything obvious. And she looked for a good 20 minutes, tried all kinds of tricks, and Cricket just would part his/her legs. Aw well. We have a healthy baby. Not so with a friend who I met on a baby board with my last pregnancy and she was due a week after me this time. She also had her scan today and baby had only made it to 17 weeks gestation. So I can be nothing but grateful.

@FarmWifeGina: Awe man! I was waiting for the update - well, you can join me and MrsJ on TG!! Sorry to hear about your friend - ugh!!!

@Ash: Yup! I'm pretty bummed, but I guess I'm expecting a girl now and will maybe be surprised when he or she decides to show his/her face, just like the last two times. But seriously? I know lots of people who find out accurately with every single one of their kids and I can't even find out once?!

@FarmWifeGina: it will still be a sweet surprise. You guys are meant to always be TG!

@FarmWifeGina: Bummer! Glad baby was healthy, though.
@sarah.clarisse: I'll get my pertussis vaccination between 27 and 35 weeks. Glucose test is at 28 weeks.

@FarmWifeGina: you can always assume it's a girl and be in for a pleasant surprise if it's a boy! I've seen that happen a few times anyways!!

@FarmWifeGina: Do you have one of the 3D places in that town? You could always do an elective scan, they're usually $50-$150 ish.
pear / 1571 posts
@MrsTiz: I don't know, but I'm kind of against unnecessary ultrasounds, particularly 3Ds, so I probably won't pay extra just for the gender.
grapefruit / 4681 posts
@FarmWifeGina: Oh no! I will add you to team green on the gender thread BTW, my guess was going to be a girl! Not basing it off anything you have said or pictures (I think you post a few some weeks ago), but solely on Cricket sounding like a girl's nickname to me haha. How scientific of myself? Glad everything else looks good!
@sarah.clarisse: I'm taking a B12 supplement, but not a B6. It's not really that bad, just really first thing in the morning I actually get sick sick every few days and then the rest of the day things are pretty good. I have to remind myself to eat too! Overall I'm not really hungry this pregnancy like I was with DS.
apricot / 360 posts
@anbanan15: I'm not very hungry either! I expected to have this huge appetite once the 1st trimester passed. (this is my first... so I don't know where I got that idea). I'd be content just living off of cold cereal, sandwiches, and the soup plantation salad bar. I obviously have an aversion to anything cooked

@sarah.clarisse: Oh man, I'm always starving! I wish I wasn't... I'm running out of food!
Put a call into my midwife, waiting for a call back regarding my BH. I just have to hear they are normal. Such a worrywart.
grapefruit / 4681 posts
@Ash: Did your midwife call back? I never experienced them, or at least that I could feel or knew of (I know I was having contractions during some non-stress tests but never felt them) so I am interested to hear what she has to say! I think they are fairly normal/common. Hope you were able to easy your mind some though!
honeydew / 7909 posts
@anbanan15: Oops! I forgot to update. The nurse called me back -said what I described were braxton hicks but they are completely normal as long as they don't become painful. I just thought it seemed early but she said I'm fine.

is anyone due November 7th? I haven't gone through the entire board yet... but I figured I'd start at the end!

@anbanan15: I still do, though it's not every day-- I hate it. It went away for a bit and then boom, back again

@Mrs. J: Feel better soon!!!
Hope everyone had a good 4th! I think Nathan enjoyed the parade because every time something loud happened, he'd kick! I've enjoyed the week so much. Got to spend some time with DH Tuesday and Wednesday. Last night I went to the fireworks with some friends and my first ever stranger commented on the bump, so I guess I'm really looking pregnant now! We saw looooots of people we knew (small town, but HUGE festival) so that was fun. If anyone has read or seen Safe Haven, that's where I'm from. There were soooo many people that came just to see the town and have the experience, which meant crazy traffic and tourists, but I didn't even mind it was a ton of fun!! I'm kind of obsessed with the week of the 4th because it holds so many memories (and its actually one of the few times there's something to do here!) This is one of the pics I took last night from the pier.

@lilteacherbee: So fun!! It's definitely obvious you're pregnant, mama--nathan isn't hiding in there!!

@Mrs. Pink: do you know what you are having yet? @Mrs. J: is also due November 7th!
@Mrs. J: Feel better soon!
@lilteacherbee: sounds and looks like a lot of fun!! We didn't really so much for the Fourth.

@Mrs. J: yay!! I'm feeling like she's going to be a little earlier- I'm hoping for a Halloween Baby

@Mrs. Pink: hehe and I am hoping for closer to the due date than not! I was six and a half weeks early, so I hope my baby isn't that early!

right now I swear the baby is purposefully kicking my bladder or something in that general area... I mostly feel uncomfortable.... like she's playing punching bag (I can feel a wobble that makes me think of those little punching bags boxers use...)
