So I had my baby shower over the weekend :). We had a really great time, except for the heat. It was close to 100 degrees and we had an outside bbq. We got lots of great presents, almost all registry stuff, which was awesome. We still have a few things we need to get before Declan gets here, but we have plenty of time. I'm a little overwhelmed at the amount of baby stuff we now have in the house, though. I can't wait until 8/3 when his crib and dresser get delivered and we can start putting things away where they belong.
Here's a funny pic my mom took of my at the shower. Ignore how tired/gross I look, it was a long day! I was trying to show off my bump, and my dad was inadvertently making a similar pose, haha.

@anbanan15: Oooo, yucky! Hope you feel better soon!
@MrsCB: YAY for a great shower! And you look fabulous!

@anbanan15: What a very trying way to start your Monday off. I honestly don't know what I would think. It seems like your food should be digested after that much time, but with a pregnant body you never know what normal is, right? I hope you're feeling better now.
@MrsCB: You look great, and so happy! It was a VERY hot weekend to be outside. Hope you had lots of liquids to drink. That's so great that you got so many gifts off your registry. I bet it will be fun to put them all away in the nursery!

@sweetooth: I know! I felt like that was a really long time. Every time I have had MS first thing in the morning it has been bile. The longer timeframe I looked up was 6-8 hours for food the pass the stomach and small intestine. I still haven't been able to keep anything down, now have a headache and am dizzy, plus I have to work in 2 hours where I have to stand (we aren't allowed to sit at all).

@Ash: Thanks. Sounds like you had a great shower! That picture is awesome!

@MrsCB: You look great! That's awesome the shower went well (and too bad it was so hot...)! I hear you on trying to get stuff put away...I feel like our nursery is just a dumping ground at this point! I don't know where to start/what to do!
@anbanan15: Blah, hope you start feeling better soon... Can you call in to work?! Has it only been stomach issues/throwing up or has...the *ahem* "other end" been involved too?
grapefruit / 4681 posts
@ms.janedoe: Just the upper end lol. I could call in, but I don't have any benefit time left and have a few point from earlier this year when DS was sick. I am going to talk to my mom when she gets home since she is watching DS today. DH already told me not to go in and if I don't I probably won't work most of the week then (same occurrence).

We're one week (and a few days) away from closing on our house and I'm DYING to start getting some baby stuff! I can't wait to get all the clothes washed and hung, and get started on the nursery!

@MrsDragon: How exciting! I was wondering where you disappeared to. I bet all of the house stuff has been keeping you busy!
@anbanan15: I hope you decided to take it easy. I'm sure it's hard if you don't have any additional time off, but I don't think standing would be good for you right now. Especially with such little fuel in the tank. Thinking of you!

@MrsDragon: Yay! The end is near! We move 2 weeks before DS was due and that was torture.
@sweetooth: Your so sweet! I stayed home. What you said is exactly my thinking. I'm still getting sick too. My mom took DS to the store so I could rest but now I'm watching news on the royal baby instead of sleeping. DH just texted me and questioned the beef too. I have an OB/midwife appointment tomorrow so depending on how I feel I may bring it up to her.

So I'm still getting sick. We just called the midwife and she said not to even both eating or drinking anything tonight because I can't keep either down and that is just irritating everything, but if I'm still vomiting in the morning she is putting me in the hospital for fluids. She said I'm over 22 weeks and to this extent is more uncommon at this point...

@sweetooth: Haha, yeah, it's been a busy month!
@anbanan15: I'm so, so happy we're moving relatively early on. I still feel like I can pack and help move and paint and stuff -- it would be awful later! I know I need to take it easier than I might usually -- I hurt myself getting slipcovers on our couches last week -- but at least I'm not totally useless.
I hope you feel better soon! My nausea has been coming and going but not nearly that bad.

@anbanan15: It couldn't have been the cupcakes, right? I hope you feel better soon and you're able to keep more food and water down today.

@MrsCB: Yay for a great shower! You look so happy!
I am way behind on my replies but just read through everyone's posts. Thanks for the freezer meal ideas! This is on my to-do list for the third trimester.
I will be a WAHM and haven't figured out yet whether we will be hiring a nanny or going with a day care. We are hoping for a nanny but need to see whether it's in the budget.
DH and I have definitely been shopping, but we have been buying a lot of different sizes, up to 24 month and only shopping sale/clearance/with coupons! She only has a few newborn outfits bc I am sure we will get a lot of clothes at my shower. Everyone loves buying tiny clothes
We did purchase her bedding from PBK and that came over the weekend. It's so pretty! I've been buying things here and there on etsy also for her nursery and looking for DIY projects as well.
I hope everyone is doing and feeling well. Time is flying by! Four months from my due date today!

Also, am I the only one stocking my wine cabinet for post-baby?? I'm determined to fill it up by November

@MrsCB: You look so great!! From what i've heard it's rare to get mostly things you actually want, so kudos to your family/friends! I'm excited FOR you to get to start putting away baby things!
@MrsDragon: A new house, that has got to be so exciting! I hope moving/packing doesn't wear you out too much..but just think, now you get to have a nursery!!
@anbanan15: Oh no! I hope she can give you some answers today! Hoping you feel better ASAP!
@Cara M. 17: I'm glad to see you are buying up to 24mo.. I'm trying not to buy any NB-6 months, because that's basically all i'm expecting from my shower. I bought a couple 12mo and 18mo shirts from Kohls the other day.. I couldn't help myself, baby t-shirts are irresistable. Especially for $2! You just gave me the go-ahead to look for more & YES on the wine. I only like one brand, one kind so I am stocking up

@anbanan15: Apparently I missed a few comments! Sorry to hear you aren't feeling well stay hydrated and feel better soon!
@MrsDragon: A new house and a baby?! How exciting! You'll be all settled in and decorating your nursery before you know it

I just woke up and took my meds. I have to wait at least an hour before I can eat anything. I feel okay so far, but I also haven't attempted to eat/drink anything since I spoke with my midwife. Regardless if I go to the hospital or not I will see her today since my next prenatal is this afternoon.
@sweetooth: Thanks! I didn't even think of that! I ate 2.5 cupcakes on Saturday morning and didn't get sick until Monday so?
@Mrs. J: @Cara M. 17: Thanks!
@MrsTiz: Thanks! How are you feeling?!? Did they ever figure out what was going on?
@MrsDragon: Thanks! Every other time I've been nauseous I've gotten sick once, twice tops in a day. It's still coming and going for me too. Boo.
I think you are moving at the perfect time! You will still have plenty of time to get things together without feeling rushed! You wouldn't have been totally useless later on either! You could tell everyone exactly where to place each box Regardless take it easy when you do move! It's hard sometime to remember that we do have to take it easy, especially on days we are feeling great!

@MrsDragon: Congrats on the house, lady! We closed in March--it's such a crazy time!!! Enjoy it and like you said, get done as much as you can NOW!
@Cara M. 17: @MrsTiz: Gah, I haven't bought aaaany clothes at all yet... Well, I have 4 gender neutral Carter's NB onesies I got at their last awesome sale (right after we found out I was pregnant) and...that's about it. I should probably get going on that one!!!
@anbanan15: Hopin' today goes better for you! That's good you'll be going in regardless--let us know what they say!
@MrsTiz: Good luck!
Not much new here. Getting a few random things done in the nursery, shower invites went out (crazy!), it's been fun to feel baby kick! I go in on Friday for a boring appointment (literally one of those 5 minutes ones) and then I think my NEXT appointment after that will be for the GD testing. So nuts to think I'll be 25 weeks on Friday--where did the time go?!

I'm doing my glucose test tomorrow -- I'm allowed to just go in whenever I want but I've put it off for a week and a half now, so it's time to suck it up. I'm so not excited. I'm not expecting to fail it for any reason, but I could be surprised!

@anbanan15: OMW, are you feeling better? Sounds awful!
@MrsCB: You are so cute! Love your bump!
@MrsDragon: A new house sounds so fun, but ufft, I SO am not jealous of the moving part! But you'll get it done, you'll be all ready when baby comes- how fun!
grapefruit / 4681 posts
@MrsDragon: oh fun time! Good luck I personally didn't find it as bad as a lot of people made it out to be. I mean I wouldn't want to drink that stuff all the time, but it wasn't like I had to force it down either...oh and I cannot drink Sprite or orange soda at all, which I have heard it described as.
@FarmWifeGina: I am!
@ms.janedoe: Thanks! Will do.

@anbanan15: They took blood and sent me on my way, I guess if I get a call tomorrow my WBCC is high still, if not i'm all better?

Appointment went well. I had to go in late because my midwife was delivering Anyway she said things look good and apparently baby is super active! She said she will be kicking the sh*t out of me. Nice! I'm getting my glucose test tomorrow since I am due for a thyroid panel and my midwife said to just get it all done at once, save myself a trip and having it done a week or two early won't matter.
She isn't sure what was going on yesterday. Said with no fever or chills it's hard to tell and could have been anything from pregnancy to something I ate. She wants me to wait it out 24 hours if that happens again and then get IV fluids.
@MrsDragon: Looks like I am doing my glucose test tomorrow too! We will be sugary drink buddies haha

Anybody else feel like they're waddling yet? I'm still hardly showing and I have NEVER had the waddle this early, but I'm pretty sure it's happening. My pelvis feels so heavy and sore, it's ridiculous. DH hustled me out of bed at 5:30 this morning to go chase wayward cows and I was like, I don't know why you even bother- I honestly don't think I can physically even run at this point. The SPD just makes it too painful. I think that's what's the biggest contributor to the waddle. I went to my chiropractor, who is generally a genius, and even he said there's not much he can do for me. Boo. So I waddle on and hope it doesn't get too much worse.
cantaloupe / 6800 posts
@FarmWifeGina: YES! I haven't noticed it but DH was like "you're walking so pregnant." so I guess that means i'm waddling!
cantaloupe / 6791 posts
@FarmWifeGina: haha yes! DH says I waddle when I'm not pregnant... So I'm pretty sure I'm extra waddling now. I feel like there's coming a point when I'm going to be as far out as I am tall, since I'm so short.
grapefruit / 4681 posts
@FarmWifeGina: No waddle yet. I actually feel pretty good, like I could run a marathon...if I was in enough shape to run a marathon to begin with haha

@FarmWifeGina: Yes! I find myself waddling. For me it’s because my feet hurt. They aren’t swollen, but I’m dealing with a lot of stiffness and pain in the arches & balls of my feet. It’s annoying. It’s extra bad when I’ve been off my feet for too long so I find my waddle extra dramatic when I’m dragging myself to the bathroom in the middle of the night. Luckily no one can see me then! Such fun.

@Ash: Don't get me wrong, I feel awesome, but when I catch a glimpse of myself walking, I have one of those "dear gawd..." moments.
honeydew / 7909 posts
@ms.janedoe: well goodness, I hope I don't catch a glimpse! Now I wonder if I waddle. I'm sure my chiro would've pointed it out today if I did.
pomegranate / 3160 posts
@Ash: Haahahah. The worst for me is in the morning walking into work--I'll catch my reflection in the door walking up...it's just bad. I kind of walk like a duck now.
honeydew / 7909 posts
@ms.janedoe: Lololol! Now I gotta know! I'll hafta ask dh! Pregnant waddles are adorable though!
pear / 1571 posts
@anbanan15: @Ash: That's awesome! I don't know what's wrong with me, but yeah, I'm not weathering this pregnancy without turning into a grouchy old pregnant woman, lol. I really, really hope the aches and pains fade away as I get into the third tri again, like they did with Tractor Girl. It's just annoying. And I hate waddling. It just compounds the feeling of being barefoot and pregnant, lol.
