@MrsCB: I hope it kicks in soon for me! I'm such a procrastinator - so I'm hoping it happens before November!

@MrsCB: Oh my gosh, that's amazing!! You are in serious nesting mode!

@Ash: I get anxious when I feel like stuff needs to get done. Though at work I definitely procrastinate more, lol. And guess what I'm doing again? Washing more diapers, lol. I ordered a couple more covers and an insert and decided to throw them in the wash. Of course the insert says to wash 5x, lol.

@MrsCB: WOW! I'm so impressed with your organization!!!
We are no where near ready for this little dude to make his appearance

@MrsCB: Oh, I get anxious too!! I'm starting to panic. DH is so laid back and he isn't in as much of a hurry to get stuff in order as I am. I'm ordering my dipes today so I can start prepping them soon! One more thing checked off!

  7. ShootingStar

    coconut / 8472 posts

@Ash: DH and I kind of play off each other and make each other worse (better?) He likes to be super productive a lot of the time. The other day he worked from home and I was running late and when I talked to him he said he had a surprise for me. When I got home, I found he had hung all of the shelves we ordered that arrived that day. So then I start figuring out what to put on the shelves and making artwork, lol.

However, I'm totally procrastinating writing my thank you's for the shower. DH is already done with his half.

    honeydew / 7909 posts

@MrsCB: Understand! My problem is that DH is super productive in everything else he does... We just have so much going on and I hate constantly bringing things up that need to be done.
Your DH seems so excited and super sweet.

Speaking of shelves, my mom and stepdad are making the shelves for the nursery:

@MrsCB: Omg you are awesome! Thank you so much! Your dresser is what I was really curious about because I feel like I can fit all my clothes in the closet so I didn't know what to put in there. You already have a TON of stuff!

@Ash: He is pretty sweet :). He was really happy when he found out I was pregnant, but man since he found out it was a boy he's been SO excited. It's pretty cute :).

Those shelves are beautiful! They're almost making me regret the plainer looking ones we got, lol.

@MrsTiz: Yeah, um, we have pretty much everything, lol. The benefits of an early shower and a husband who likes to buy baby things. Glad it was helpful! I wasn't sure if I had posted too many pictures, lol.

I don't post much but I check in every couple days and love seeing you ladies prep the nurseries!! Our baby will be stored in, um, our closet (yes, really) and we have a crib set up so we consider ourselves ready

@MrsCB: Super impressive! You will be so happy to be so organized when LO comes home!

@Ash: Those shelves are so neat! Can't wait to see how yours look!

@MrsCB: Noo thats perfect! I started a thread about how to organize closets, but was hoping for pictures haha so you were verrryy helpful!

Blurry picture - but here is our closet layout- I have 4 more green bins above the 4 that are there now..in them are all the bigger sizes, so 3-6 and up. Once I have everything, I plan to keep bigger sizes, feeding stuff, crib sheets, and toys or something in them?

I think i'll keep all the diapering stuff in the dresser because the drawers are so shallow and the changing pad is on top. Right now I have the 0-3 month stuff all crammed in there until I decide if I want to keep it in the dresser or closet (any preference from anyone else??). I might also keep swaddle blankets, bibs and maybe onesies in there too??

The stuff that is hanging up in the closet is all sizes, it's just "nicer" clothes, like button ups, jeans and overalls whereas the bins hold onesies and slip on pants.I bought more clothes today at a big consignment sale our town had (thanks to whoever here recommended me to look for them!)

Haha, right now our nursery looks like this! Mr. D took two days off work to try to get the drywall done. We still have to pack and move out of our rental. So insane, and I am so sore. I can't wait to be done this, hopefully soon, and get to the unpacking/relaxing part. I feel really, really anxious and stressed about all the stuff that has to get done!

@MrsCB: Your nursery is super inspiring! Thanks for sharing all of the pictures! I love how organized you are!

  16. ShootingStar

    coconut / 8472 posts

@MrsTiz: I love your closet organizer! I know for myself, I hate digging through drawers, and in terms of organization I'm an "outie" - I like things I use often to be out and readily available. Hence putting all the things that I don't need to sift through or use often in the dresser, and using bins for the diaper stuff. But that's how I'm comfortable. DH loves putting things completely away which drives me nuts when I have to pull them right back out.

@sweetooth: We'll see if it lasts :D. I tried to organize things in ways that would be easy for me to keep up with, but I admit that some of it may not stay like that after baby arrives.

@MrsCB: Wow! I am so impressed by how much stuff you have and how ready you are! You and @MrsTiz are way ahead of me!

This is what our nursery looks like right now. After next week at least the beadboard will be up and we can start some decorating.

  19. MrsTiz

    cantaloupe / 6800 posts

@MrsCB: How did you hang up the pants and stuff? Or is that what's in the hanging organizer? I could hang up onesies and such but it's the little pants that puzzle me

@NeekieRose: Oh I love that color! So bright and happy!

@MrsDragon: I hope your hubs gets the drywall done soon! I know that is no fun to do, drywall is a mess!

  20. NeekieRose

    persimmon / 1386 posts

@MrsTiz: It is definitely bright! A little brighter than we had expected, but the white beadboard will tone it down, as will the massive amount of pink paisley that will be added in decorations/bedding.

@MrsTiz: I bought hanger clips at Bed Bath and Beyond. All our hangers are the slimline hanger kind and they worked great - http://www.bedbathandbeyond.com/product.asp?SKU=123367. I didn't buy enough though, so I have two pairs of pants hanging on each hanger. Plus I'm running out of horizontal room, lol.

Once again, I fall behind. Hahaha, what else is new. Anyway, the nurseries look awesome! Love what y'all are doing!!! I have my shower tomorrow, so it should be interesting to see how things go!! Not too much (at all) was purchased off of the registries, so it'll be interesting to see what we end up with--regardless, it should be fun!

Baby girl has been kicking away, which is awesome. DH and I were able to see her kick from the outside last weekend (I totally may have already said this, I don't remember...sorry), which was nuts! I have my glucose test this Friday, so that should be...fun?

Eek! All these nursery pics are overwhelming but they look great!

@ms.janedoe: Have fun at your shower! I just found out the girls at work are throwing me one so I get to have one afterall!! And good luck on Friday!

The kicks on my end are getting so strong that sometimes they catch me off guard!! Especially those bladder punches!

Lovely nurseries, ladies! So excited for you all! For me, I'm ready to meet this little Cricket, but the thought of adding to the current chaos and exhaustion is really weighing me down and I finally admitted to myself that I'm dealing with a bout of prenatal depression. *sigh* I need to go on the Whole30 or something, figure out what, or if, some other food besides gluten is affecting me. But the thought of dietary changes alone is completely overwhelming, especially when I keep failing at my resolutions to completely cut out refined sugars and all grains and starches. I sorta can't wait for birth just so I can get my placenta pills and hopefully feel better. Sorry, I'm totally whining, but I'm just not dealing well with anything. But just wanted to pop in and say I'm still following and I'm still here!

@ms.janedoe: Ohhhh have fun at your shower!! So exciting!

@FarmWifeGina: I have anxiety/depression that I thought was just because of our m/c and then TTC again. I got off my meds when I got pregnant again and I was fine, but recently, it's kinda creeping back. I'm just overwhelmed with some things going on and I can see that some of those feelings are coming back Hope you start feeling better, I know how awful it can be.

@NeekieRose: I love the color and I'm obsessed with paisley!! I can't wait to see how it all turns out!

@MrsDragon: Well you're making progress!! I know it has to be overwhelming though.

@MrsTiz: I'm totally jealous of your closet setup, just sayin

Wow, I'm so impressed with these nurseries! So far we've cleared out baby's room (which was our office; we had to rearrange our whole apartment and get rid of/reorganize a lot of stuff--it was a lot of work). The closet in that room is now full of storage, so we'll have to have all of baby's stuff in dressers. We set up our crib and glider but that's it. I'm teaching summer school until the end of August, so I'll start tackling the nursery in earnest after that's over.

@FarmWifeGina: I'm sorry to hear you're experiencing depression. It's been hard for me to not be on my meds, so I empathize with you. I hope you start feeling better soon!

@Ash: Google is my BFF too

@MrsCB: Looks great! I love the "gear" closet shot! That's about what ours looks like right now too

@MrsTiz: Love the green bins and how they match your Danzo! Our dresser has mainly 2 large drawers and I preferred to keep all our cloth diapers in the top drawer and all of DS's clothing (except dresser stuff/jackets) in the bottom drawer since those were things I would be reaching for multiple times a day and I wouldn't have to walk across the room for them. I felt the blankets etc were better kept in the closet hanging organizers and bins.

@MrsDragon: Hope you get a break from all the work soon!

@NeekieRose: Oh I can't wait to see the paisley! I adore paisley!

@ms.janedoe: Have a great time at your shower today and good luck tomorrow!!

@FarmWifeGina: Sorry to hear you are not feeling well. I hope a simple(for lack of a better word) fix like diet helps.

@NeekieRose: Such a bright and happy wall color! I love it!

@ms.janedoe: Enjoy your shower! And it's so nuts to see the kicks on the outside, isn't it? Good luck on Friday!

@Ash: I've had a few of those bladder punches too. They totally catch me off guard! Even make me jump a little!

@FarmWifeGina: HUGS to you...I can only imagine what life is like being pregnant and already caring for adorable little ones. I hope you're able to find some quiet time to work through the feelings you're having. You're not whining at all. Thank you for sharing so we can be here to support you. I hope that the changes in diet help your mood!

Ya'll's nurseries look great. Jeesh I'm behind. I've gotten my junk room cleared out but need to get the furniture moved out and other stuff moved in.

So I feel like I have had a DECREASE in movement the last few days. I still feel movements, but I really have to focus to feel them and they are not as strong. I'm slightly concerned, but I don't know if I should call my midwife or not since I AM still feeling movements (my next appointment is a week from today)....I wonder if she moved back transverse and with my anterior placenta I'm just not feeling it now? I know my midwife said before with a transverse baby and my placenta placement it would be hard to feel anything, but at my last appointment she didn't think baby was straight across anymore, but not head down, vertical either. Err I hate not being able to visually see what is going on in there! I also have a lot of pain that I think is SPD/PGP so I wonder if that is masking my ability to feel movements too? Mind on that type of thing?

@lilteacherbee: @DigAPony: @sweetooth: @anbanan15: Thanks. For me, being GF IS my antidepressant and the fact that it's not working anymore is really unsettling. I was so, SO happy when I was suddenly starting to function like a normal person again (I honestly didn't know just how incredibly depressed I was for years and years until suddenly I wasn't anymore). I just don't want everything I've been working towards to get disrupted because of my brain chemistry. I got things to DO and just barely being able to keep my head above water so everyone around here stays clean and fed is not one of them. Bleck, but anyways. This too shall pass, at least, that's what I tell myself and I really hope it's true.

But completely unrelated to that, may I recommend that everyone get their hands on a book by Pam England called 'Birthing From Within'!!!! I wish so much I'd read it with my first pregnancy, although I'd definitely have to read it again with this pregnancy anyways because of all the emotions going on in my head. But hands down, this is definitely going on my Top 3 list for childbirth preparation resources for my doula clients, it's that good! It speaks to the heart and soul of the birthing woman, and not just to head knowledge about birth. I know, I'm becoming a professional birth worker, I should have read it a long time ago, but that's beside the point. I think it's going to be on my required reading list when I start teaching childbirth classes, heck, maybe I'll even become certified in Birthing From Within birth/parenting preparation classes.

@anbanan15: Same thing over here! I was telling DH this morning that it was starting to make me nervous. The past week or so I feel little flutters and an occasional roll, but I don't feel strong hard movements anymore. You would think that as the baby grows, you'd feel harder movements but I'm not.. at all? If you call will you let me know what she says? I'm a chicken and my office is very "we don't do anything over the phone" so they will tell me to go to the office, which I can't do right now.

All of my Google'ing says that by 28 weeks you should feel kicks so hard that they'll take your breath away sometimes. Ahhg

  34. Maysprout

    grapefruit / 4800 posts

@FarmWifeGina: So sorry you're feeling down, it's hard dealing with all these crazy emotions. I become a super @$$ during my last trimester. Stuff that doesn't usually bother me irritates the shit out of me. Thanks for the book recommendation I'll have to see if my library has it.

@anbanan15: Is baby still moving around after you eat and all? I'm sure midwives are used to those types of calls so I wouldn't worry about bugging her.

  35. anbanan15

    grapefruit / 4681 posts

@Maysprout: Yup she still moves, but it is the same thing as @MrsTiz: is saying...I'm back to feeling basically mild flutters. That is why I'm wondering if she is transverse again? I just drank something super sugary an hour ago and I'm feeling small flutters now.

@MrsTiz: I feel better hearing that you are experiencing the same thing! This is the type of movement that I felt the entire time with DS, but with her I had been feeling stronger, more noticeable kicks so I started to question. Maybe they just moved into a weird position? If I call I will certainly let you know, my midwife is really good and always says "it's only a phone call", but at this point I don't think I need to call her just yet.

@anbanan15: I had to reschedule an appointment, so I had her transfer me to the nurse so I could ask about it and they said to come in at 1 today! So, i'll let you know what they say. She said they're just gonna check the baby, which probably means the doppler. eep! I thought they'd tell me to drink some juice or something but it's better to be safe than sorry I guess

@MrsTiz: Oh maybe I should call? I did fall on Monday, but I literally just tripped over a box, spun as I was going down, and sat on my bum. I didn't call because when I had a similar fall (on ice though) with DS they made me go to triage for monitoring and everything was fine with a huge deal made that impacted how I was treated in L&D/couplet care by the nursing staff at our birthing center (basically they had to help me do EVERYTHING including use the bathroom and take a bath even though I was fully capable to do it myself)...I didn't want to deal with that again. Hmmmmm

ETA: Maybe I should call and speak to the triage nurse with my practice?

  39. MrsTiz

    cantaloupe / 6800 posts

@anbanan15: that's who I spoke with was triage. Give them a call!

@anbanan15: Just got back, they did a quick ultrasound, he was breathing and wiggling perfectly normal. He was moving all around too, she said that his spine was facing out, so any kicks/punches he does are facing inward, so thats why I only feel flutters/shifting positions. So, not to worry! Probably the same for you!

I do have high blood pressure though, so I have to go back next week to recheck it. It wasn't too high, so she didn't seem overly concerned but I swear it's always something!

She did answer some questions I had though, I'm allowed to see a chiropractor, she said I need to get a support band, keep taking my iron pills and keep my feet up because they were swollen. This was only my 2nd time seeing this woman, she's a midwife but I her!
