@Ash: You're not a failure! At this point I can barely stay on my feet long enough to go grocery shopping.

    @lilteacherbee: Good luck today

@anbanan15: Sorry about your foot, that really sucks.

I'm starting to get nervous about how I'm going to physically handle the rest of the 3rd trimester. I have almost exactly 3 months to go, and I'm starting to struggle with things like rolling over in bed, bending over, and getting out of the car.

@anbanan15: Oh no! Sorry to hear about your foot!

@MrsCB: Same here, I am so uncomfortable it's pathetic. I don't think I can do 10 more weeks!

@Ash: You're not a failure! Those are long hours!

Anyone feeling any pressure lately? I feel a ton of pressure in my lower abdomen and as of this weekend it feels like it's in my vag bone. (technical term, I know). It's so weird and is really uncomfortable to even walk. I had an appt last week and they said that abdominal pressure is normal, but dang..this sucks!

@MrsTiz: I'm feeling uncomfortable in the opposite place - right at the top of my stomach, between my breastbone and my bellybutton.

@MrsCB: Is he sitting up really high? That could make you uncomfortable if he's all smashed up in your ribs?

@MrsTiz: I have no idea! LOL. I have noticed the past couple days it's getting hard to eat again, so I guess he must be moving up.

@Ash: Totally agree, lady, you've gotta do what's best for you and baby! You absolutely cannot look at it as being a failure! Exciting about your SIL!

@lilteacherbee: Ooooh, have fun! Isn't it crazy how freaking FAST summer went?! I cannot believe that it's basically over!

@anbanan15: DUDE seriously?? Oh maaaan, I'm sorry to hear that!!! That sucks so bad. Hopefully all goes as well as you can and you don't have to wear the supershoe/boot for too long!

@MrsCB: @MrsTiz: Ugh, I have the same worries. I feel like I just got too "comfortable" and things were just going too "well," so now that it's getting towards the end I was just NOT prepared at all for the fact that it could be, oh I don't know, uncomfortable?! Hahaha, I guess I can't complain too much, but I feel like in the last week, it's just hit HARD.

I have an office/desk job, and any sitting position just...sucks. If I cross my legs, it hurts, if I uncross them, it's uncomfortable, if I stand up for too long it hurts, laying down basically just blows...fail. Baby girl has been SUPER active the last couple days, which has been fun, but waaay more noticeable than before! We're in the middle of a killer heat wave up here right now (heat indices of like, 105-110), so I can't get out and walk at all, which usually helps...so instead I sit on the couch and eat food. Hahahah.

@anbanan15: Oh no, that's another discomfort that is not needed with the other many discomforts of the 3rd trimester, sorry that stinks.
@Ash: Def not a failure, those are long hours.

Last pregnancy I thought the last month of pregnancy was like PMS on crack, it's not that bad yet but whew I have a short fuse for everything lately. And I want shit done and I want it done now, we're still finishing up the baby's nursery so I've been sanding and spackling and hopefully get the painting done this week. Last pregnancy I started to moving pretty slowly around 33 weeks so I'm like I have less than 3 weeks to get this nursery together, but it's more like a week and a half because we have lots of traveling coming up.

Also we're supposed to go to a wedding about 7-8 hours away when I'm 35 weeks. We looked into flying but between the costs and no airport nearby it doesn't really make sense but 16 hours in a car over a weekend is starting to sound super unappealing. I guess if worse comes to worse I'll just send DH on a lonely car trip.

@MrsCB: @MrsTiz: @Maysprout: @ms.janedoe: Awe, thanks ladies! My boss wasn't real happy with the situation but she says she understands (coming from a labor and delivery nurse manager).
I struggle with everything anymore... but I still love being pregnant! So weird how all of a sudden it's a struggle to be alive. lol!

@ms.janedoe: My gut was right... they had their baby -it's a girl! Eeeeeeeep!

I've been a little MIA, my mom has been in town for the past few weeks because my sister is due any day now. Can't wait to become an aunt again! Time to try and catch up on this active board!

@Ash: I'm so sorry to hear about the experience you had last week. Hopefully you were able to get some quality time over the last 3 days with your feet up. I think that having a job where you are on your feet all day is super demanding. Especially on a body that is already working overtime to grow a human! Good for you for putting in for fewer hours. I'm sure it's hard to admit that you need to take it easy, but it really is what's best for you and the baby. Congrats to your sister-in-law! I'm days away from becoming an aunt too!

@Mrs. J: I was just talking to my husband this weekend about maybe booking a prenatal massage. I told him that I can see how it would be helpful, because I was in some major pain this weekend after over exerting myself. A day of pampering sounds wonderful! I hope you indulge and enjoy! If you're curious about when it's ok to do the massage, maybe ask your doctor? I would think it's fine at 29w +2.

@anbanan15: Ouch! I hope you're ok! That sounds so painful. Do you have experience with a walking cast?

@MrsCB: You can handle anything! Just at a slower pace I know what you mean though, sometimes I look in the mirror and think "this is plenty of growth, no more, thank you!"

@MrsTiz: No pressure here. Just some headaches that won't go away. I think I'll have to tell the doctor if they persist another day longer.

@ms.janedoe: The office job, sitting all day long, can get very uncomfortable. I have to remind myself to get up and walk periodically & stretch. Sorry to hear about that heat wave. How about walking the stairs in your house? Or a hallway?

@Maysprout: 16 hours in a car is a long time. I would also think a doctor would recommend that you stop every two hours to move your legs. Sitting for that long, that late in the pregnancy can't be good. Good luck with all of the nursery preparations!

@Ash: It's hard to judge it with it surrounded by the blue. But if it's similar to that image you had linked with the crib in it and you were asking for paint colors from people, I think it will be great!

I had a productive weekend, organizing, taking care of things around the house, errands, etc. But I think I may have pushed it too far on Saturday. I am pretty good about eating right and drinking plenty of water during the workweek. But sometimes on the weekend I go rogue. And I think my body let me know that this weekend. We were painting a few walls in the house, feature color walls, and I did the prep work. I guess getting up and down from the floor to tape things off is a little harder with an additional 15 lbs on my frame. I was doing some yardwork too. And prepping meals in the kitchen. I felt invincible! But then when I tried to go to sleep, I laid down and my body was like WHUH?! So much pain. And I could not get comfortable. I tried so many different pillows and positions. I feared for what sleeping for the next several months might be like.

    Lesson learned. Take it easy.

Woah, I'm on my lunch break, so I'll try to catch up! School is going well but I'm soooo tired already!! We had a ton of criers this morning, which was to be expected. Today I have 17 four year olds, many of which have never been away from their parents! And about a third of them speak primarily Spanish.

@Ash: Def. not a failure! I've been on my feet for 5 hours and I'm already exhausted. I can't imagine 12 hours!! Our bodies can't handle as much when pregnant. Take care of yourself!!

@MrsTiz: Yes to the pressure! I feel like I have to pee, and then when I go, I don't actually need to. It just feels so heavy down there.

@Ash: Congrats Aunt!!! I'm so jealous! DH is an only child and my sister is younger/not in a relationship, so it's going to be awhile before I have nieces or nephews!

@sweetooth: Aww take care of yourself!!! It's so easy to over do it.

@Ash: @MrsCB: @MrsTiz: @ms.janedoe: @Maysprout: @sweetooth: Thank you. My mom (she called since I was at class and DH was with DS) was able to get me an appointment with my ortho who worked on my other mid-foot fracture/fusion for this afternoon, so I'm waiting to see what he has to say. We really wanted to get in with him because he knows me history with my right foot always giving out. I will update again later today.

The pain is pretty intense at this point and is keeping my mind away from being able to feel any movement/pain etc with baby/pregnancy, but I DO NOT want to take any sort of medication if I don't have to! At least I wasn't able to feel when my bum went numb during class Ohhh and we had a fire drill today. I'm just full of luck here lol

@Ash: Totally not a failure at all!! You need to take care of baby and yourself first! Congrats on becoming an Aunt! If she isn't in labor already, it sure sounds like it isn't too far off!! BTW I really like the color on the far right! To me it has grey/blue/green hues to it and I think is totally soothing! Sort of reminds me of some of the blues on the HB layouts!

@MrsTiz: Yup I have those pains! Aren't they great?! Not! Hope they subside for you soon!

@sweetooth: Yes I do. I had a very long recover with my other foot with various types of casts/splints/braces etc. I also had a walking cast when DS was a few months old...I didn't break anything that time, just a really bad sprain, but because of the instability of that foot my ortho thought my best chance of healing was to cast it.

@lilteacherbee: I admire you for dealing with all those 4 year olds during pregnancy! Super mom in the making!!

Oh my goodness, this board got busy over the last few hours!

@anbanan15: oh no! my MIL just broke her toe too...I hope they have a solution for you that allows you to keep going to school/taking care of DS!

@lilteacherbee: Good luck today (buena suerte ). My students are all taking summer reading tests today, so it's a great day.

@sweetooth: definitely rest! Don't over exert yourself, mama. @Ash: Don't feel badly about cutting hours--you NEED to do it for the baby. Also, the color is hard to tell, but I imagine it's like the reply box on here, which I like.
@MrsCB: @ms.janedoe: @MrsTiz: I feel ya on the pressure! Sometimes, it's lower like vag bone, but I mostly have rib discomfort lately, and I've been trying to sit at work for my feet's sake, but sitting means ribs hurt.

@sweetooth: Ooooo! Exciting that you're gonna be an aunt again too! I'm an only child but DH had 4 nieces when we married... now there are 6 girls and a boy. It's always so exciting! And yes, take it easy! I learned the hard way!!

@anbanan15: Oh man, fire drill on broken foot day... for real?! I'm glad you were able to get in for an appt today!

@MrsCB: Yeah! I wanted something a little more blue... I took a pic of the paint swatch. I'll attach it

@Ash: Haha, I totally had that thought about the reply box too. Which is a color I love :).

We've made a lot of progress on our nursery in the last couple weeks. We're waiting on one more piece of furniture that PBK says will be in on 9/11. I need to pick out some kind of decoration to go over the crib, and then we're done! I just finished some artwork on Saturday, which I'm really happy with :).

@Ash: Oh, I like that color, good choice.

My husband decided he liked the idea of a peach nursery and since he doesn't usually have a lot of decor opinions I've tried to go with it but jeesh, I didn't realize how hard peach is as a color. Some looked too tan/brown, some looked too pink, some looked too orange. I think the color we ended up with is like a light pumpkin color. I'm really not convinced, have to see when it goes on all the walls but I think with some whites and blues it'll look OK. Like maybe something in these colors for some decoration.

@Maysprout: I love the watercolor feel of those prints! Gorgeous! I saw a peach nursery on pinterest that I loved! Great choice... Didn't think it'd be a hard color to match but now that you said that, I believe it!

Cast is on for the next 5 weeks. I broke at least 3 bones. 1st, 4th and 5th metatarsals back towards the Lisfranc joint...total deja vu from my right foot but he hopes it's not going to go like that injury which also had ligament damage. After my pregnancy he wants me to meet with another specialist who speciality is feet for my right foot sunce it keeps giving me issues and thinks I need reconstructive surgery on it. Also as long as school clears me I am okay to attend per the doctor.

ETA: I can't do clinicals! They have some rule, that just started, where anyone in any type of cast cannot attend. Waiting on my options.

    @Mrs. J: Thanks

@Ash: Yup! That was my day lol the color even more now that I see the swatch.

@Maysprout: I LOVE peach (it was one of my wedding colors), but you're right, it is hard to match the shades.

@anbanan15: Sorry you are having such a rough time! I can't imagine having to deal with all that and a toddler at the same time! Hugs!

@lilteacherbee: Glad your first day went well! 4 year old girls are built completely out of sass, i'm pretty sure.

Y'all.. someone from my birth class had their baby yesterday! She was 35 weeks. That means in five weeks we could start having babies ..HOLY SH*T! Talk about a wakeup call!

We finished our class though, and went on a hospital tour last night. The L&D suites are *so* nice. They let you labor and deliver there and then hang out for an hour & fifteen minutes, then they move you over to the PP rooms..they're a lot smaller and less homey, but at least you still get private rooms.

We've also got our 3D/4D ultrasound re-do this afternoon. Hoping baby is wide awake this time!

@anbanan15: How's DS? How are you? I'm sorry things are just all happening at once.

@MrsTiz: It's getting real. My husband has a bunch of work stuff that just really needs done, basically he is loaded up and away a lot until the end of Sept. He feels really bad about it so he keeps saying oh I'll work really hard that last month on getting things ready but I'm like well there will still be stuff to do but people have babies a month early so I'm getting the nursery done and all her stuff together now, I don't want to be painting and hammering with a newborn around.
Glad you like your rooms, the small room will be a good reason to kick people out if they overstay

@anbanan15: I hope he's feeling better by now.

@MrsTiz: Drink some cold water or some juice right before your ultrasound. That always get Declan moving around. Although lately he's moving around almost constantly, lol.

I can't believe someone from your birth class already had the baby! I'm one of the furthest behind in this group, but still...omg. Plus I'm gonna cry if he's super early because at this point I'll only have unpaid leave until January. We can afford it, but it'll annoy the crap out of me, lol.

He is extremely ouchy and still running a temp over 103. I'm currently driving him around to try and get him to sleep (haven't exactly figured out what I will do if he is asleep when I get home) since DH ran to the store. Today is one of DH's days off and he took off tomorrow. My mom is off Thursday since I should have class. I'm exhausted!

Crutches + 3rd trimester + sick toddler = pure hell!! I hope none of you ever have to deal with anything even remotely similar to this.

  36. ShootingStar

    coconut / 8472 posts

@MrsCastro: Thanks :D. I actually bought a Cricut on NBD for $50. And then I bought a couple cartridges for a total of $45. I actually stole the idea from an place I found on Etsy and figured I could do the same thing - http://www.etsy.com/listing/99229294/baby-boy-nursery-wall-art-baby-boy-decor?ref=sr_gallery_14&ga_search_query=eli+elephant&ga_view_type=gallery&ga_ship_to=US&ga_page=2&ga_search_type=all.

The shop sells all the designs in canvas gallery wraps, which we loved, but it's all prints of her original artwork (which is what I did with the individual papers). And at $255 for a 3 piece set (of 8x10s, I made 11x14s), I figured I could do a better job, cheaper.

I still had to buy the canvas wraps, craft paint, and paper too. But I figured I saved about $100, and I have more than just a print. Plus I'll be able to use the Cricut for future projects, which is a pretty awesome device :).

@MrsCastro: I have a cricut (well, my mom does).

Well, for some weird reason I decided to contact my photographer to see what she would charge for maternity/newborn photos and it's $240 including maternity, newborn, 3mos, 6mos, 9mos, and 1 year photos. Not too shabby if you ask me. Anyone have an idea when to have them done? I was thinking soon... before my face gets chunky and I am miserable. Hahaha! Anyone have any inspiration pics they'd wanna share?
