@sweetooth: Bahahaha, I reached that point a couple weeks ago... I tried so hard to lift my bump but it wasn't budging. I just go at it blindly... lol!
nectarine / 2705 posts
@Ash: Oh man, going at it blindly scares me! But so does letting it go and becoming a hairy beast - hahaha!!!
honeydew / 7909 posts
@sweetooth: I assume since I can't see the end result, it's not so scary... now, if I had to see my "masterpiece", I might change my mind! Funny story... a girl I used to work with had her dh help her shave and he took it all off... she said she was so embarrassed when she went into labor! I don't think I'd let my hubby down there with a razor.

@Mrs. J: I'm not even sure what I weigh! I was obsessing over it for the first tri/early second..but my scale battery died and I took it as a sign to stop worrying about it. I look away at the doctors office, I figure they'll let me know if I am gaining too much (which they haven't!) so I don't know how much i've gained or anything, it's liberating!
@sweetooth: I haven't been able to see for a few weeks now. I do this really sexy thing where I put one leg on the edge of the tub and lean the opposite way so I can at least see my bikini line on that side..then I do it the other way.. as far as the main area, well that I just do blindly. Then when I get out of the shower I check it out in the mirror and cry inside a little. bahaha I am way too paranoid about that area when it comes to delivering, everyone (DH, doctors and my mom) are going to be looking and I am way over thinking it lol!
Anyone had any pelvic pain yet? Holy shit. It's absolutely miserable. At least my back was kind enough to stop hurting for a bit... but duuudde, pelvic pain is the worst. I feel like it's splitting in half, it's not a dull throbbing pain but it's a constant SHARP pain, it feels like it's on fire sometimes. Bending over to put pants on or getting out of bed will literally bring tears to my eyes. I cried HARD over it the other day, and I never cry from physical pain. Every step I take hurts... I got a yoga ball this weekend and it hasn't helped at all.
honeydew / 7909 posts
@MrsTiz: I'm the opposite... I gained like 3lbs the first day of that damn high carb diet over the weekend... lost it all but still... it gave me a heart attack when I stepped on the scale.
I've gained 20lbs so far. *sigh*
I have pelvic pain when I lay in bed... but it's not too awful yet. I'm sorry you're in so much pain.
nectarine / 2705 posts
@Ash: Oh man, this made me crack up so loud! I don't think I'd ever let my husband down there with a razor either!
@MrsTiz: Our shower is just a small stall, so there's not much maneuvering I can do. At least I can still swing my leg up on the wall and balance on one leg to shave my legs. Sounds like you've got a system down // Sorry to hear that you're in so much pain. Maybe it will still take some time with the yoga ball, to relieve the pressure? I've been dealing with RLS mostly.
honeydew / 7909 posts
@sweetooth: Same!! I have to do a half leg at a time when I'm balancing in the shower!! I guess if I really wanted to, I could take a shower upstairs and do it the same way as MrsTiz... but eh, I'm good for now. Maybe when things get closer, I'll end up taking showers in the tub so I can balance and shave!

@MrsTiz: Popping in from October...Could you go visit a chiropractor? Mine has really helped relieve my hip/pelvic pain.
cantaloupe / 6800 posts
@evansjamie: What is it that they do for your pelvis? I've only been to a chrio once, but it was years ago and for my back, do they stretch it, or crack it?
honeydew / 7909 posts
@evansjamie: Maybe that's why I'm not really sore. I go every couple of weeks. I second the chiro!
pomegranate / 3160 posts
Ugh, the pelvic pain sounds miserable...sorry, @MrsTiz: I will still occasionally get awful pelvic girdle pain in my back, but nothing in front yet.
As far as shaving...meh. Whatever. I'm not letting it go aaaaall natural, but I'm definitely not killing myself trying to keep it looking fabulous (HA, good joke...). I consider it a good day/week/couple of weeks if I manage to keep my legs shaved from the knee down. I think the concept of having me clean-shaven (for DH) was out the window after the first couple months of dating. Hahahah, poor guy.
grapefruit / 4681 posts
@MrsTiz: I have some degree of SPD going on and it's been going on for awhile. It is at it's worst when I sit with my legs extended or laying down. At my last check-up the midwife suggested either getting massages (she wanted DH to give them daily but he refuses) or sending my for PT. I said I will see how it goes first. She didn't suggest it, but I've also heard the chiro and acupuncture work well for it.
Between that and having a cast on my leg, I literally cannot move at night and stopped getting up to go to the bathroom unless I absolutely have to (bad I know).
honeydew / 7909 posts
@ms.janedoe: Granted I still shave my legs every couple of days... I try to avoid letting dh know... because all it does is turn him on and I try to avoid that at all costs these days. poor thing.
pomelo / 5132 posts
@sweetooth: I still go to get waxed! (at least down there). My legs I can still get at.
cantaloupe / 6800 posts
@anbanan15: I'm such a cheapo, I hate to go to the chiro! I don't think my insurance covers it. I seriously can't imagine being this miserable AND having to wear a cast..you're a rockstar! & why wont your DH give you massages? Mine wont either...at all. He insists that he's going to hurt the baby, no matter where I request a massage..sorry DH, I don't think the baby is in my feet.
grapefruit / 4681 posts
@MrsTiz: hhaha my DH is just a weirdo. He is totally creeped out by pregnancy that he wants as far away from me as possible and certainly will not touch anything. He clearly doesn't "get it" and thinks pregnancy is a cake walk. I have to laugh though ecause I swear he gets more pregnancy symptoms than I do and it's the only time he gains weight.
I'm the same way about going to the chiro right now. I can't justify it although I know my insurance does (should at least) cover it, I'm just going to tough it out. At least the foot pain is distracting from all the other aches and pains at the moment. Silver lining...right?! Hahha
cantaloupe / 6800 posts
@anbanan15: Well I try a new body part each week, so I figure that at least one of these places will end up with a massage, right? So far, no-go on the back, no-go on the feet, no-go on the shoulders, and no-go on my head. I'm running out of places for him to deny lol!
Another TMI for the day.. anyone having diarrhea?
honeydew / 7909 posts
@MrsTiz: Insurance doesn't cover my chiro... it costs 46 bucks a pop but I can justify it for my health and only going every few weeks... Plus, I hear it can help with labor!
grapefruit / 4681 posts
@MrsTiz: I love it! One has to work, I agree! I'm so sorry your DH isn't giving them either, but can I say it makes me feel good that mine isn't the only one that won't?! Mine actually told me to get my mom to do it! Haha
Yes on the diarrhea. I've been meaning to ask as well. I've been having it the last few weeks. I read that it can be a sign of pre-term labor, so now I'm paranoid. It can also be a side effect of some prenatals.
cantaloupe / 6800 posts
@Ash: well $46 isn't *too* bad, I assumed it would be much more. I guess it's worth a call, right?
@anbanan15: DH says the same thing, or "go get a massage"..someone clearly doesn't realize that that costs money lol!
That's why I asked! I google'd "Diarrhea and pelvic pain pregnancy" and pages and pages of Pre-Term labor stuff popped up! Eek! TMI #3 i've had an increase in discharge, too. Hm. I called this morning to reschedule my 30 week appt because the other day didn't work for me and they moved it to today at 3, I'll be sure to ask and let you know what they say! I've been taking the same prenatals since day 1, so it's not that for me.. why are we always having the same symptoms at the same time lol
watermelon / 14467 posts
@MrsTiz: She does adjust my back, hips, and neck. She also has me doing exercises in the office and at home to strengthen my muscles to hold the adjustments. If you are interested in trying it, ask your OB for a recommendation for one. It has been worth it's weight (and the $20 copay each visit) in gold and has kept me comfortable.
cantaloupe / 6791 posts
@Ash: Ummm so I might be the only one brave enough to trust DH to do it for me...hahaha! He's done it once so far and I think he did a good job (not like I can really tell!).
@MrsTiz: Aww I'm sorry about the pain! I haven't experienced that yet, but I'm bracing myself. Being that I'm petite and he's measuring ahead, I'm getting nervous.
grapefruit / 4681 posts
@MrsTiz: haha sounds like are DH's are similar too! Yes please let me know what she says. I go next week so I will try to ask too. I've been taking the same prenatals as well, and they are the same as I took with DS and never had this problem.
cantaloupe / 6800 posts
@lilteacherbee: omg you let your DH do it?! You are brave! I think I would be too embarrassed. You go girl! (and DH! lmao)
honeydew / 7909 posts
@lilteacherbee: Oh man, you are so brave! I'm not afraid of him slipping... I'm just embarrassed!
cantaloupe / 6791 posts
@MrsTiz: @Ash: Hahaha we've been together since we were 16 and we've known each other our entire lives, so we've lived through the embarrassing middle school days and all that together. I don't think there's really anything that feels awkward between us anymore! He was my first kiss (not ONLY though because we broke up for a bit during college...lol) and my first basically everything. Pretty much the same for him with just a couple exceptions!
honeydew / 7909 posts
@lilteacherbee: That's so cool!! I'm just a chicken... DH would be all for it. He has no shame!!
coconut / 8472 posts
@lilteacherbee: You're not the only one :). I don't like using a razor, because I get horrible in-growns, but DH's done that for me before. I just trim really close, and as of the last time I started it and then he completed it for me. He's kinda funny and likes doing it.
cantaloupe / 6800 posts
@anbanan15: she said its normal, awful, but normal and will feel like that until birth probably. She wasn't worried about BM either and said to enjoy it while it lasts because I'm sure to get constipated again haha
My blood pressure is high again

Do you guys think it would be weird to go to someone else's baby shower and look more pregnant than them? A friend of mine's wife invited me to her shower (we had invited them) and I'm not sure I want to go. Partially because I'm not sure if I'll know anyone else there, and partially because I'll feel weird if I take any of the spotlight away from her. She's very tiny in general, and the last couple times I've seen her, I look MUCH farther along than she does, even though she's a couple weeks ahead of me.
cantaloupe / 6800 posts
@Ash: they want me to go back next week to check it again, it was only 138 so it wasn't super high, they want to watch it but aren't worried yet
@MrsCB: I'd go! Il be 9 months pregnant at a girls shower I have to go to, she is overweight so she hardly looks pregnant at all, she's told me it upsets her but you can't help how your carrying! I say go!
nectarine / 2705 posts
@Ash: hahaha, I'm good for now too. But if needed, we do have another shower with a tub. We'll see.
@ms.janedoe: It's funny how our perspective changes, isn't it? My husband never really complains, but I know I definitely made a MUCH bigger effort to be all cleaned up when we were dating.
@anbanan15: Oh no - make sure you get up and go if you have to! This is coming from someone who used to deal with chronic UTIs. I'm sure it's a total pain with that cast on though.
@lilteacherbee: @MrsCB: You two are brave! My husband said he would do it, but I don't know if I'm comfortable with it.
@MrsTiz: Oh man, enjoy the BMs? I sure hope that the constipation stays far, far away. I second @Ash, is there concern about your BP?
@MrsCB: I'd go. You could pick up some new tips, and bond with some other moms. I'm sure she'll be the one in the spotlight, and if you ever feel like it's shining on you, just direct it back her way
honeydew / 7909 posts
@MrsTiz: well at least they aren't worried. I am always afraid when they check my bp at my appts but so far mine is staying super low. Fingers crossed everything guess well and yours doesn't get any higher!
grapefruit / 4681 posts
@MrsTiz: Good to know! I do have IBS, but with chronic constipation, so I'm sure it might be stress related too.
@MrsCB: We are not sure when the shower is yet, but my cousin is due 2 days before me with her first and I'm nervous I'm going to be bigger than her.
@sweetooth: Yes I go if I have to go, but if I feel like I might have to go, I wait until I'm sure I have to go lol if that makes sense. Not only is it a pain but it wakes DS up too and no one wants that. Haha
pear / 1571 posts
@sweetooth: Um, no comment and it has nothing to do with being pregnant or not, I'm just a dirty hippie, lol.
@MrsTiz: Ufft, yes. For the last couple of months. Putting on any article of clothing where I have to bend over and lift one led and then the other is just torture. I don't think that's going to change, but laying on my side has become a bit less painful, for whatever reason. I finally bit the bullet and have started a 6-week, twice a week chiropractor regime and it's really helping with both my round ligament pain and the pelvic pain.
nectarine / 2705 posts
@anbanan15: Totally makes sense
@FarmWifeGina: Hahaha, no comment is a perfectly valid response

Can we talk baby brain for a minute? Have any of you been having little brain burps at work? Or even in life in general? I've been a little frustrated with my mind at work where I have a thought, and I'm talking, and then it just escapes my mind. Luckily I have kind coworkers who can handle my ramblings as I find my way back to my thoughts. But still, I used to be sharper than this.
And this morning, I know I checked this new purchase I'm wearing for any tags but I didn't see any. So I drop my husband off at the metro, I pop in to Starbucks for a decaf latte and come home. And bam - I look in the mirror and see a TAG! I'm the pregnant woman, walking around with a TAG hanging off of my armpit. Looking like I'm just "trying before buying"...oh pregnant brain...
Please tell me you all have pregnant brain too?
cantaloupe / 6800 posts
@sweetooth: Very much so! I don't tend to lose track of what i'm talking about as much as I forget what i'm doing/how to do it. Last night I forgot I had dinner boiling on the stove and went and got a shower? I do the same thing at work everyday but this morning my brain just could not remember how to start the program, or someone will call and leave a message but I forget to pass it on to the person the message was for, etc.
nectarine / 2705 posts
@MrsTiz: Oh no! Boiling water on the stove and leaving the room to take a shower! Was your husband around? I definitely have to write things down to remember them, my short term memory isn't so great these days. Use sticky notes to remind yourself to pass on those messages
cantaloupe / 6800 posts
@sweetooth: the messages ARE on sticky notes lol! Even worse! Yeah I was making chicken pastry and was boiling chicken and just forgot.. DH came in and was like "Hey..did you forget something?" I didn't know what he was talking about until he said "Well, the chicken is done now" hahaha oops
