I am soooo far behind on this thread! I feel like a slacker. We've just been so insanely busy with house stuff. The nursery is at the joint compound stage of drywalling, but humidity is kicking in and making it a slow go for drying. Hopefully it picks up, soon!

Baby is measuring small according to my doc so we'll likely have another ultrasound this month, but he thinks it's just my stature, not a problem. My only real complaint is that my ribs are KILLING me.

It's funny the differences with pediatrician stuff. This thread reminded we needed to do that, so I checked out the website of one that a friend recommended and they say all parents should come in for a "prenatal visit" so we have that scheduled for Tuesday. I feel we're kinda starting to come down to the wire!

Oh, and nursery is done! I took some pics today but they didn't come out great with the morning. DH is WFH this afternoon so he was going to try to get some with his nice camera (as opposed to my iPhone because I'm lazy, lol).

@MrsCB: Can't wait to see pictures! I wish we could meet with ours first, but I guess that isn't how they do it here?

Also, TMI but ..green discharge? Is that normal? I really hate calling my OB because I feel like I call them/go there every week

@MrsCB: It is funny the differences with different ped offices. We lived elsewhere with LO1 and went to a group meeting one evening for expecting parents and signed up with our due date to notify the office. At this new office we go to now I popped in since it's right next to my OB and asked if there was anything I needed to fill out or give an expected due date for our next LO and they looked at me like I had 3 heads and had never heard of letting them know a baby was on the way and would be coming to their practice.

@MrsTiz: Green sounds a bit off, it might be worth a call, sorry, maybe others will chime in and say it's normal though.

I had an appointment today and it looks like i'm on weekly appointments as of now because my blood pressure is too high for them. She said their cut off is 140/90, and mine was 139/86, mixed with really swollen feet she said I had to come back next week.

@ShootingStar: I saw that, it looked great! You changed your name!

@MrsTiz: Um, yeah did you see the "I'm going to kill my husband thread?" DH forwarded the nursery thread to his boss. And thanks!

@ShootingStar: I didn't, I've been at the OB all morning.. omg whhhyy DH whyy would you do that! If you are Gold you can switch your settings so no one can search your threads/posts!

  9. ShootingStar

    coconut / 8472 posts

@MrsTiz: I changed those settings too. But apparently she'd already seen the thread and I felt really weird having her know my user name.

@MrsTiz: Did you get good news about the discharge?

  11. MrsTiz

    cantaloupe / 6800 posts

@ShootingStar: She said the discharge was OK, she checked to make sure I wasn't leaking fluid but she chalked the discharge up to me losing part of my mucous plug. (ARE WE THAT CLOSE TO THE END ALREADY?!?!? AAHH!) She made me nervous about the blood pressure though, all of my Google'ing/HB'ing shows that's an early sign of pre-e, especially mixed with the massive swelling i've been having in my feet/ankles so I have to go back again next week.

@lilteacherbee: So, 3 days into Head Start and one meeting later and I'm feeling really awesome about where he's at and what we're doing. The special ed lady set up a meeting for her, me, the elementary principle, and the head Head Start teacher. We sat down and discussed Deere Boy and the possibility of further testing for developmental delays, but everything was completely up to me and no one pushed the idea of further testing at all, the principle was actually against testing too soon. Which was good to hear because I was afraid of them pushing to test and trying to pigeonhole him into some kind of label or disorder when all he needs is a little more time and guiding with these certain concepts. But basically, the whole group felt the same way, that there are some possible concerns, but not anything huge right now. I did give consent to further testing, but we're going to wait until he's been in Head Start a month or two and after his first progress report comes back. And then the special ed lady will check in again and we'll go from there. And this was all just talking about TESTING, not even further intervention. So I feel really good about it, totally the parent and decision-maker in the situation.
Oh, and he's loving it so much he told me to go home when I checked in on him in the Head Start room, lol. But he's always really happy to see me when the bus pulls in the drive, so that melts my heart, of course.

@ShootingStar: Ahhh, now I understand the username change. Why would your husband do that? This is not a place to link to externally...crazy. I'm glad you could change your name - maybe change your user image too?

@MrsTiz: Mucous plug already?! It can't be that soon! I'm glad you went in and got it checked out. And that you can be checked on more frequently. Put those feet up and tell your baby that the November mamas want him to take it easy on MrsTiz

@FarmWifeGina: Sounds like a great meeting - I'm so glad you feel in control of the situation. And I think it's sweet that Deere Boy is already so comfortable he doesn't want you checking up on him

Sorry I've been a little MIA lately. I'm just so exhausted! I worked last week and it was just too much between being pregnant and a broken foot (it feel better this week, but last week was still really tender) that I would come home and crash lol....We have to stand at work and they don't offer any sort of light/restricted duty, so it's either do the job or don't work, but I wouldn't get any sort of pay if I didn't work since I'm not a full time employee.

Sooo....I worked last week and they said I could just cover my toes, well now when I went in this week they are saying that I needed a cast that covered my toes (WTH?! What cast completely covers your toes) and that I couldn't work until they got it sorted out and would contact me yesterday. Of course they didn't and I'm scheduled to work this weekend. So irritated!! Especially because they acted like I misinterpreted what the guy meant by my toes needing to be covered and that wearing just a sock to cover them was absurd and literally laughed at the idea...I didn't even talk to the guy! Another supervisor who used to be a manager did and said a sock was fine, so if anyone misinterpreted him it was her, not me. I guess I have to call in there and do their job for them since they obviously are not going to call me. Oh and the supervisor making the stink said "this has never been allowed before" which is total BS because I worked in 2011 with the same type of cast on my opposite foot, my mom had one for months working there, someone in HR just had one and another lady I know had one while she was on crutches and needed to sit with her foot elevated doing the same job I do (that's the only time I have ever seen them accommodate restrictions and that was only because it was a work related injury for something that was the companies fault). End mini-work-vent lol.

Besides that I feel like I'm going on 40 weeks, not 30 because of the extra weight and effort the cast makes. Up until this happened I felt GREAT in terms of pregnancy. Now I waddle and walk like a 101 year old lady. I have a feeling that when I go back on the 30th to get it removed they are just going to slap another one on. Honestly if work says I'm not allowed to be there, I would for them to keep me casted until baby comes I could use the extra time with DS before our new addition arrives.

I have my last monthly appointment today and DH is going for the first time this pregnancy. It's also his birthday (yes he was also born on Friday the 13th...explains so much lol). We have a growth ultrasound next Tuesday at MFM and DS has a sleep study next Thursday into Friday which should be loads of fun! I'll update you on how the appointments go...

@ShootingStar: Ahh you changed your name! Totally would have missed that if you also changed your avatar

@MrsTiz: I lost parts of my mucus plug for the last few months with DS and still delivered 9 days late. It can regenerate to some degree, so while some believe it means labor is near, that isn't always the case. I'm sorry about your high(er) bp and swelling. That's no fun! I hope everything stays in check and I'm glad your doctor is wanting to keep a close eye on things.

I'm getting everyone confused! DH means well, but he was totally lost when I was like "what if your boss wants to see if I've posted other pics or just happens to look at other stuff I've posted? I've talked about my miscarriage on here and other personal stuff." And I told him I just felt like too exposed and that I'd have to watch every single thing I ever said. He was like "Oh, I didn't think of that. I just wanted her to see the pictures." *sigh* He's a sweet guy and doesn't really get the whole message board community thing.

@anbanan15: I can't even imagine how difficult it must be for you having a cast on top of being pregnant :(. It sounds at least like you have a walking cast. If it was me and I had to be on crutches, I'd just say no thanks and go right to a wheel chair. I can barely haul my a$$ around as it is, lol.

  17. anbanan15

    grapefruit / 4681 posts

@ShootingStar: It is a walking cast. I ditched the crutches partway into day 3 because they just took too much effort and I was aloud to walk whenever I felt comfortable enough (I wasn't but it was better than the alternative). They are talking about surgery on the non-broken foot/ankle and my mom and DH want me to see if I can get it squeezed in in December. IDK how the heck the expect me to take care of a toddler and an infant in a non-weight bearing cast for months (I'm assuming it will be like my other surgery based on things I read)...a wheelchair in our house would not work at all.

  18. MrsTiz

    cantaloupe / 6800 posts

@anbanan15: You are so amazing for rocking a cast and still functioning! I'm dragggging to do anything and I have no excuse, you go girl! I hope you don't have to get a non-walking cast, that is going to suck with a newborn & toddler! I'd call in for some extra help if that happens.

I got a promotion today! I'm so excited. I get to help interview the girl who will replace me and i'll start my new position next week. I'm not sure what kind of raise i'll get yet, but i'm seriously so grateful to be able to train the new girl so that while i'm on maternity leave there will be someone to help out around here, then when I come back I'll have something to look forward to! They're moving me into an office (i'm in the lobby now) that i'll get to share with DH..so it will be DH, Jack and I in the same office. eeeeee!

@MrsTiz: Awww that is so exciting! I'm just going to throw this out there- You, Jack, Nathan, and I totally need to have a little mini meet up after they are born!! We live too close for this not to happen!!

@anbanan15: wow, I'm sorry that your work situation is so crazy!! You sound like you're handling it all pretty well though!

@FarmWifeGina: Awww yay!! So glad things are going well with Head Start. I agree, a lot of the "issues" we see are just the kids getting adjusted to school and in a couple months, they could be resolved. But it's good to hear that there's a plan in place!!

So I had a dream last night that I had the baby...but there were 2 of them!!! No one knew I was having twins until I gave birth! It was crazy. They were fraternal and they looked completely different. One looked just like I picture Nathan so we named him, but we had noooo idea what to name the other baby boy haha. I woke up a little freaked out and kinda sad that he's not here yet. As I attempted to roll out of bed I thought, " darn it, I'm STILL pregnant."

Also, our maternity pictures are scheduled for Sept 28th!! Super excited about that

Okay so I AM ALLOWED to work. Err I cancelled hours because I didn't hear from them and they won't add them back so I'm out a day this week on an already shortened schedule But at least I was right haha!!

My midwife appointment got rescheduled for Monday last min. My midwife went home sick

@anbanan15: I still can't believe how well you're doing for being pregnant with a cast and a LO!
@lilteacherbee: oh my gosh I can't even imagine being surprised with twins lol
    @MrsTiz: great news about work!
@ShootingStar: I cannot believe your hubby!
@MrsDragon: I was wondering where you were!!

So tell me if I'm completely crazy but my mil and fil want to go to rent a house in this closed community in Mexico (that they have been to before) in January. They want my sil and bil and us and the baby to come...they would pay for the house and we would part for the flight. Are we nuts to think of going?? Baby would be about 2.5 months old...

  27. ShootingStar

    coconut / 8472 posts

@Mrs. J: Hmm, we're thinking of going to visit my parents in FL when DS is about 3.5-4 months old. At 2.5 months baby would obviously be portable, but maybe not so much of a vacation for you guys? I feel like one of the bloggers blogged about flying with a baby around that age, I wonder if I can find it...

@Mrs. J: I don't think you are completely crazy for thinking about going. Sounds like a great opportunity and that at age baby *should* be mostly sleeping making travel do-able. The only thing that would make me hesitate is that it is Mexico and out of the country which would make me nervous for a ne'er of reasons (one being if for some reason baby needs medical attention).

    How is everyone feeling??
I've actually felt pretty good this week! Back pain is pretty much gone, and the "I think my pelvis is breaking" pain comes and goes, but it's MUCH more manageable. I feel bloated 24/7, but I think that is to be expected I'm freaking STARVING all the time, which doesn't make sense because I feel full from being bloated but omg..sooo hungry!

And how are nurseries coming along? Anyone else got pictures to share??

  36. lilteacherbee

    cantaloupe / 6791 posts

@MrsTiz: I'm great, except I never sleep which gets old reallyyyy fast, but I guess it's preparation for what's to come! Last night I didn't fall asleep until 2 am. I woke up to pee for the 8th time at 5am and when I walked in the bathroom, I saw a HUGE bug and I flipped out. DH had woken up when I got out of bed and I made him kill the bug. He was like "oh my gosh, it's 5am!!!!" If looks could kill... Haha He had been asleep since 11pm...

Also, I have to email my glucose numbers to my doctor every Sunday. She just called me and said my numbers look so good that I can test twice a day now. Yay!!! Here's my chart because I'm proud the top numbers have to be below 95 and the rest have to be below 120.

    cantaloupe / 6800 posts

@lilteacherbee: Woohoo! Glad you are able to cut back on it, admittedly I'm not sure what i'm looking at but good job! eek! Not sleeping has to be rough! Have you tried taking any Benadryl or anything? If I go a few days where I can't sleep, I'll take a nice warm bath, a Tylenol and a Benadryl and then I sleep good! My OB said "it's like a homemade Tylenol PM!" haha I'd give it a try!

@ShootingStar: OOoooh, you're lookin' good (totally not implying that you didn't before!)!!

@MrsTiz: I've been feeling alright! Waking up to pee and get situated again (in bed) after kind of blows, but nothing too awful. My back zits are still in full force, but other than that, I think all is going alright! It's so weird to feel baby lumps and bumps sticking out--and I feel like sometimes she's like, headbutting my cervix. So odd.

I have like, 2 more things I'm waiting on for the nursery and I'll have finished pictures to share. That is SO nuts to think about--I have a finished baby nursery...in my house...

@lilteacherbee: Hell yeah on good numbers! That's awesome! Glad to hear it's going about as well as it could!

@lilteacherbee: Popping in from October! Those numbers are great! I'm still testing 4 times a day, but the end is in sight since my DD is in two weeks.

    honeydew / 7909 posts

@lilteacherbee: your numbers look GREAT!!!! Way to go!!

@MrsTiz: I feel great! I have the same problem as @ms.janedoe: when it comes to getting comfy in bed after getting up to pee. Other than that, no complaints. Our nursery is painted so hopefully in a couple weeks I'll be able to provide a pic - we're really only waiting on the glider and we just need to put the furniture together.

And just wanting to add... I'm no longer team green. Wah wah wah! We're still not telling family and friends and we're kinda sad that it's not a surprise anymore but I'm excited to start buying baby clothes now!!
