I am curious about the rings as well... Will you take them off so there is no chance of losing them? I wore mine when I went in for my c section last time and didn't have to take it off or anything.

For the ladies having scheduled c sections - I heard somewhere (probably HB boards) to buy granny panties so that they go above the incision. I did that and don't know how much difference it made, but wanted to throw it out there At least you won't get anything on your regular undies

@Cara M. 17: I sleep HORRIBLY. Last night wasnt so bad, but the night before I didn't fall asleep until 3am. Between my insomniac tendencies I have already, the need to get up to pee, and not being able to get comfortable, sleeping is a lost cause

@ms.janedoe: I hadn't even thought about Christmas presents!! My mom JUST texted me and told me that she bought something for him for Christmas. I figure between the grandparents and my sister, he will have a TON of stuff!

@shellio: I had heard that too about the granny panties. I almost bought some the other day, but I figured I would wait until we know if a c section is a sure thing. At this point, we're pretty sure. I should know more tomorrow after my appointment.

Y'all, I keep having dreams about the baby being here and whenever I wake up, I get SO impatient!! In the one last night, I could see him so clearly and it was so real. AHHHH 3 more weeks!!

@ms.janedoe: @lilteacherbee: Yes! I get up to pee like 4-6 times per night!

@ShootingStar: We bought DD a stocking with her name on it. Not sure what we will put in it, but I fully intend on putting her in there and taking a photo!

Honestly I think we will get her a Christmas book or two, any items we discover we need and don't have, maybe a stuffed animal or embroidered blanket and a toy that she can use around 3-4 months. I have a few on our amazon registry so I will just use our completion discount on it. She has a room full of new things and clothes so she really won't need much! But i do feel like we should get her something to celebrate her first christmas.

I usually only get up once to pee (between 12 and 2); sometimes I fall back asleep and other times I toss for an hr or 2. And sometimes the only reason I wake up in the morning is from my hips killing me. I can't help but laugh when I hoist myself up and roll out of bed. Pregnancy is funny.

@Cara M. 17: @ms.janedoe: @lilteacherbee: really bad sleep over here too. I don't have to get up that often, but I sleep really badly - waking up again and again to roll over because I'm in pain from either my hips, my pelvis, my uterus, or the fact that I ended up on my back and baby's killing my stomach. I feel like I pretty much spend the entire night awake.

@Ash: Baaaahah, I know, right?! This morning I had a nice combination of leg kicking (for momentum!), hoisting with my arms, and DH pushing from behind to get me up and (over my Snoogle, and) out of bed. Attractive.

    honeydew / 7909 posts

@ms.janedoe: you are so freakin funny! Dh is sleeping when I get up to pee and gone for work when I get up in the morning... So I'm on my own! A push would be awfully nice! But I totally do the leg kicking! You're not alone.

@ShootingStar: Yes everything hurts in the morning! Awful!

Getting out of bed is definitely a struggle each morning.

@Ash: I'm sure you'll be an excellent mommy for a lifetime!

@ShootingStar: 32 weeks is when I started to feel the most discomfort too. But lately it seems to have subsided. Not sure what's changed. // As for scheduling your induction, I'm sure if you just ask tomorrow you can probably get it on the calendar. If it's a done deal, seems like they would work with you to get it scheduled.

    @NeekieRose: One week!!! So exciting!!!

@ms.janedoe: I think we might do some books for the baby for Christmas. It's the one thing people haven't been buying off the registry. But you're right - feels like we've been buying things for the baby for a while now! Still, there's something magical about having a little gift under the tree

@Cara M. 17: My sleep patterns seem to be linked to my exercise habits. If I manage to get a few miles in of walking each day, then my sleep is good.

No rings for quite a while here. They started to get tight a while back and I just took them off. For a while I missed them and felt naked. But I'd rather be safe and I'd hate to have to have them cut off.

@NeekieRose: @ms.janedoe: my hiccups are always all over the place, and baby is head down for sure. @Cara M. 17: we bought a stocking, and we'll have it embroidered once we know what Baby J is!

@sweetooth: Well, they're very go with the flow. And I'm all about planning, lol. I'm getting 2x/week NSTs and those are supposed to inform the decision for when to induce, along with fluid levels and cervical checks. So they could decide I need to go earlier. But the latest I would go is week 39, due to the holiday and the fact that they don't schedule inductions on the weekends (I'm due on a Sunday).

@ms.janedoe: That is really cute! She will look so adorable. I got a few different Christmas clothing items at the last consignment sale. Not sure if I will get anything else. But not sure I can resist dresses...

@Mrs. J: LOL, that's what I was thinking too! I wanna buy a cute little Christmas dress too, if Cricket is a girl, even better, MATCHING or coordinating ones with her big sis! So cute, @ms.janedoe!

I had another appointment with my backup doctor yesterday, for my GBS swab- yay. Actually, it was a great appointment. I love my backup doc. I actually had the kids in for well-child checks too and I've definitely found our new family doctor, which is an awesome feeling, after being without one since the other MD I really liked moved away a couple of years ago.
ANYWAYS, Cricket has dropped and is well engaged in my pelvis and, after measuring so far ahead there for awhile, I am not measuring EXACTLY on schedule. Like I knew would happen, baha. And my doc thought it was pretty hilarious that I've picked November 26th (my official EDD is November 20th) as being a pretty good day to have a baby so I have a good 10 days to try and fill my buck tag before baby is here. She remarked about North Dakota women having slightly different goals than New York women, lol. She's a MonDak (Montana Dakota) lady herself, headed out on her own big elk hunting trip in a few weeks. Love her.
Interesting note: I was wondering if dropping and baby engaging were the same thing (because I hear that it's generally only FTMs who's babies truly engage before labor, and yet, I hear all this talk about dropping and of being engaged for all moms) and apparently they kind of are and they kind of aren't. Dropping pretty much means the head is starting to lock into the pelvis and is often referred to as engaging, but up until labor, that little person can disengage and move back up at any time. True engagement is when baby's head is at 0 station in the pelvis and that uuuuusually doesn't happen until labor. Sorry, rabbit trail, but the more you know... *chime*

@ms.janedoe: Ahhhhhhh, how adorable is that!!! I might lurk around on etsy... yikes!

@FarmWifeGina: glad you had a great appointment!

My appointment today went well. GBS done. Position checked and baby is HEAD DOWN! Yaaaaaaaaaaay! And we got to get a little sneak peek!! Soooooo soooo exciting! At next week's appointment we talk birth plan! And week 38 cervical check.

@FarmWifeGina: Oh my gosh, yes! I was all ready to make my chiropractor appointment to get baby to get into position - now I just need to make a regular ol' appointment for an adjustment! It snowed here today and I thought of you - no accumulation though!!!

  24. FarmWifeGina

    pear / 1571 posts

@Ash: Haha, yeah, it's been snowing tiny bits here and there every few days lately.
Will you continue to see your chiro until you give birth?

  25. Ash

    honeydew / 7909 posts

@FarmWifeGina: Yep!! And after I've been going to him all throughout this pregnancy and he kept telling me the 3rd tri would be the worst and he'd be seeing me every week - well last time I saw him, he said he'd see me in 3-4 weeks because I'm doing so well! I'm thinking a visit this week sounds good. I'll probably start going weekly now though.

  26. FarmWifeGina

    pear / 1571 posts

@Ash: Awesome. With my other pregnancies I was pretty lax about going until the very end, but then I went every week until birth. This time I started much earlier and was going twice a week for awhile because I was just SO outta whack, but now I'm down to weekly because I'm doing much better as well. It just helps so much with staying aligned and keeping baby in a good position. I've been really, really grateful for the care since I hurt my tail bone a few weeks ago. Just to have someone to reassure me that it's gonna be painful for awhile, but nothing is broken, my pelvis is still in good shape and the fall shouldn't effect my birth has been invaluable.

@ mrsjanedoe - cute outfits! I picked up a couple cute things at a local consignment sale and have lots of cute holiday outfits from a friends little girl.

Anyone else trying to clean out their freezers? I just used up the last gallon of blackberries from this summer making blackberry bread and blackberry liqueur that I am planning on gifting to a few friends for Christmas.

    Fell behind again!

So I really think that if I don't end up having a c-section due to position baby is going to be late and I will need to be induced again. Just my gut predication. Once again I have had ZERO BH this entire pregnancy. Still lots of big movements too.

I've been feeling better the last couple of days and I've spent the past two trying to draft a pattern for baby jeans over CD's sort of like Project Pomona's (I have never seen them IRL, but trying to DIY my own pattern for personal use) and my mom asked if baby was coming soon as she said I was nesting....if I'm nesting I should spend that energy into getting things ready and not crafting lol.

@ms.janedoe: With DS I started loosing pieces of my mucus plus late in the second tri and throughout the rest of my pregnancy. Still ended up being induced from 0% effaced and 0 cm. this pregnancy nothing so far. My belly button didn't pop with DS either, just flattened, but popped this time.

As far as first Christmas I think we will get her a few small stocking stuffer like things. DH had me order both kids some handmade wool booties/slippers so we have them. I also was thinking about getting her am heirloom wooden rattle, but haven't decided. Nothing major though since she will only be 1 month and doesn't need anything really. That dress is super cute!

Rings are still on and still come off easily. Same with my first. I wore them to the hospital and had them on during L&D with no problems.

@lilteacherbee: It will be interesting to see if he looks like the baby in your dreams! 3 weeks to your EDD or c-section? So close either way!

@Mrs. J: My mom makes our Christmas stockings They are fabric with the names embroidered on.

    @NeekieRose: Ahh single digits!

It's almost 5am and I've officially gotten ZERO minutes of sleep tonight. Came home after work and accidentally took a 2 hour nap, so of course I can't sleep now. I'm bored out of my mind. I have no clue how I will function at work today, but at least I leave at 1pm because I have 2 appointments.

@anbanan15: Well I'll know more after the appointments today, but 4 weeks until official due date and 3ish until possible c-section! And Christmas lights already?! I'm OBSESSED with Christmas....I have a countdown starting at 100 days every year (currently 62 days left ), but wow, that's early!! I love it though. It gives me the warm and fuzzies!

Sooo I feel kind of bummed out today. I spent an hour and and half in the waiting room for a five minute appointment today & it was just a basic appointment, no cervical check. Not that I was looking forward to the check at all, but I kinda wanted to know where I was at.

Everyone keeps telling me they think baby is coming early -- she's apparently still down super low, according to my doctor -- and while I would really actually like her to show up at least after this weekend and not earlier, I kinda want to get the show on the road. I think I'm just being mopey and pregnant, but all of my motivation to do stuff is gone and I'm grumpy.

@MrsDragon: Oh, boo, sorry about the lame appointment! When's your EDD? Sometimes when you're waiting for baby to come, the waiting is made easier by making some fun plans to look forward to.
