So, a little about Jack's birth: I started labouring on Friday, but the midwife didn't think I was close enough, so we started home. Saturday, my contractions spaced out all crazy and didn't start coming back together until nighttime. They were coming very close and hurt a lot, but again the midwife said I still had more to go. We went to bed, and the contractions started coupling, which meant no sleep again for me. Ultimately we left around3am for the hospital because we weren't getting a lot of movement. When we got there, that's all they right they were going to look at, but surprisingly, I was at 8cm. Around 9 or10am, they broke my water because I was on day 3 of labor and no sleep, but again I wasn't progressing normally. They ended up having me try and start pushing because I was at9 and they wanted to get Jack into a good spot. 17 hours of hospital labor, 38 minutes of pushing and several stitches later, we had Jack.

@ChitownRo: My epidural made my right leg feel like a tree trunk, thick and impossible to move! Enjoy the process. Good luck!

@Mrs. J: I'm impressed you made it all the way to an 8 while at home! How's it feel to sit? I recommend a little bum donut to make sitting most comfy

@sweetooth: how did dh react to the fire alarm the other night?

    I'm getting so antsy! Ahhhh!

@sweetooth: oh my gosh, wellllll haha One of my friends went to Hershey, PA a few weeks ago and brought back a ton of candy, so she brought me some chocolate in the hospital. Our second night home, I made pumpkin spice cookies with cream cheese icing and they are amazing!!!

Here are some pictures of Jack! We came home yesterday (a day early). So excited for all of these new babies!

Edit: photos not working from phone...will have to try again...

I've been sleeping like a log lately but I'm so antsy for this baby to come that I'm wide awake!

  28. sweetooth

    nectarine / 2705 posts

@Ash: keep sleeping like a log as long as you can. I only get max 2 hour stretches at a time these days. I'm thankful I had 7-8 hours back before he arrived. I dream about them now

As for the midnight fire drill on Saturday, I think my husband felt bad I experienced that, but in his sleep deprived state it wasn't a big emotional response at all.

  29. Ash

    honeydew / 7909 posts

@sweetooth: I've been getting like 9-10hrs lately and here I am whining about 7! I can't imagine what 2hrs will be like. But I'm ready to meet this baby so bring it on!
I'm glad dh wasn't overly concerned... After all, his babies were safe!

@sweetooth: Haha, OMG all of the things. I was so excited because I could eat Mac n cheese for dinner last night. And my parents brought me some giant half moon cookies which I chowed down on. We also had a complimentary dessert cart come around and I snagged a red velvet cupcake. It's so freeing! And blood sugar numbers have been great.

@lilteacherbee: Candy! Pumpkin spice cookies! Great way to jump back in

@ShootingStar: Mac-n-cheese is heaven. What are half moon cookies? Glad to hear blood sugar numbers have been great.

@Ash: Oh 9-10 hours of sleep...how I miss thee!!! I'm ready to greet your little bundle of joy too! Any day now

Baby Elliott's first picture is online on the November baby thread! I'm working on a birth story and some bump pictures to share. I'm in love with this new life.

@Ash: So jealous your still able to sleep well! I've been laying awake all night for the past few weeks. I should be productive with that time and finish getting stuff together, but if I move from the bed DS wakes up and no one wants that lol. Seriously enjoy it while you can! I haven't gotten that much sleep in 31 months

  33. Ash

    honeydew / 7909 posts

@anbanan15: I'm taking advantage of it while I can! Which hopefully isn't too much longer! You ready for tomorrow?

I feel like I'll be the last one left. Omg!

  34. anbanan15

    grapefruit / 4681 posts

@Ash: Mentally and physical yes!! Is our house and car...no way! Car seat isn't even installed, but it is in the dryer so....if you can tell I just really can't get motivated to get things together. Not that I'm not excited to have this baby, I really am!!, I guess I just sort of knew we wouldn't be having a huge rush to get to the hospital so I had plenty of time? Or I'm just super lazy....

You won't be the last one left! Still other babes to be born and I seriously would have been right there with you next week of if this wasn't my second. I think she would be a Dec 1st baby if we didn't induce

  35. Ash

    honeydew / 7909 posts

@anbanan15: I think it's mix of knowing you'd have the time and being pulled all possible ways between being a wife, wohmommy, and student... AND being pregnant! It will get done. Baby will come regardless. I'm excited for you!

Me and farmwifegina? The 2 country girls lol!

@Ash: haha yes anyone else?! I feel like there are more! I wonder how the other mamas are doing that javet checked in? I've been wondering about @Mrs. Pink. (Maybe they delivered and I haven't noticed. I've really only been keeping up with the November 2013 board lately. I'm sure I missed a ton on HB!)

  37. Ash

    honeydew / 7909 posts

@anbanan15: I haven't been keeping up a whole lot either but I don't recall hearing from her. Hmmmm. There has to be more!

Nursery done! Woot woot...well minus a few things that need hung

Now to tackle the car and bathroom some point today. The rest of this disaster of a house can wait!

  39. Ash

    honeydew / 7909 posts

@anbanan15: we're in the same boat regarding the nursery. It's "done" but nothing is on the walls yet. You're crackin the whip! Take it easy as much as you can.

    @ShootingStar: Congrats! Loving the skin-to-skin, he's precious!

@Ash: Yep, I'm still here and pregnant. 40 weeks today, but I don't really feel like anything will be happening anytime soon. I have no reason to be, but I'm getting a little antsy and feeling it's going to be forever yet, but I think that's because I was so stressed out about the work project I HAD to finish before baby and was so worried that I wouldn't and now that I have, it's like, "Now what?" But I'm trying to get everything spic and span and not feel guilty about getting some relaxing in too.

    Good luck tomorrow, @anbanan15:!
