@MrsScottish I just got back from my conference and one of the judges there asked me if I was pregnant when I ordered a ginger ale and I just looked at her and was like, "it is really unfair of you to ask me that because there are rules that say that lawyers cannot lie to judges." At which point she apologized, said it was none of her business, and we left it alone, and assured me that I did not look pregnant, it was just the gingerale thing.
I still feel *so sick* but haven't thrown up since Tuesday. Also, somehow I've gained a pound and a half which means I'm up at least 2.5 total, even though I seem to be able to eat nothing. I'm on hold with my Dr's office right now to request Zofran.
My plan is to otherwise answer all people who ask if I'm pregnant with, "are you calling me fat?" which makes them uncomfortable and apologize.

@Ms.Mermaid: wow!! I dont understand why people ask?!?! I dont ask about the status of their organs! It drives me nuts when men ask! My come back is sometimes that! Or I have been blaming gluten as I am gluten intolerant and have not eaten it for a year. When I do eat some by mistake I get so bloated I look 5 months pregnant!!! Glad you are starting to feel better, or at least not throwing up!!
@April_Showers: welcome and congrats!!!

Howdy, mamas! I'm excited to join in the fun! I've been lurking since the thread started, but I didn't want to post non-gold about the pregnancy until I'd told a couple of IRL friends who read the boards.
EDD: November 9
When did you find out? March 7
Child Number: 2 (DD is a 12/12 baby)
Where do you live? Chicago
What kind of provider will you see? OB-GYN
When is your first appointment? April Fool's!
What kind of birth do you want? One that ends with a happy healthy baby! And ideally one that goes as smoothly as DD's, which was a hospital, medicated birth with 6 minutes of pushing and no tearing... It's probably downhill from there though
What are you most excited for? Cuddling a sweet baby! Seeing DD as a big sister!
What are you most scared for? Losing this little baby, chasing a toddler while pregnant.
Symptoms so far: I had some implantation spotting, and nursing DD suddenly HURT LIKE MAD, so I had a feeling I was pregnant! I've been lightheaded and exhausted, but I can't complain so far!
I'm excited to be on this journey with you all!

@Mrs.Panda: Looks beautiful!
So you guys, I am struggling right now to stay awake at work. I am so tired and I'm sure it'll just get worst! I might have to take me a quick 10-15 minute power nap because it's just that bad!
Anyone else this way?

Welcome, new ladies! @April_Showers: where-ish in TX are you? I am in D/FW!
@MarieJ: I have been crazy tired lately. Yesterday I was laying in bed for a good 15 mins after DD woke up from her afternoon nap and waiting until the last possible second to go in and grab her (you know, the transition from happy and playing to angry and alone!). I think I might have to start an afternoon nap time for me!
I had my first appointment today and all was good- we heard/saw a heartbeat and I'm measuring 7 weeks and change. @Mrs.Panda: my official due date is 11/3! I really love my OB's office, you guys...is it weird that I always look forward to going? (I know it is)

@Sophs Mama: Hooray! Congrats and welcome! Our babies will be the same ages! I'm nervous about the adjustment too. DH says that he's excited for the bonding time he'll get with DD when the new baby is born and taking up mama's time, which I thought was a nice point.

@Sophs Mama: Welcome! Congratulations on your BFP!
@tororojo: Congratulations on your baby's heartbeat!! I'm so happy for you!
@rattles: Congrats and welcome!! Whereabouts in Chicago do you live? I grew up in the northern suburbs, and lived on the north side for three years while DH and I were in grad school.

@April_Showers: Welcome! Nice to meet you! I have the same fears as you do. My appointment is a week from tomorrow and I can hardly breathe wanting it to come, but also so nervous about seeing a healthy heartbeat!

@rattles: @Sophs Mama: Congrats on your BFP's!
@tororojo: How funny...I am in Dallas too.
@ChiCalGoBee: I finally got my appt and its not until April 7. I am tempted to call our RE's office to see if they will let me do a blood test to make sure everything looks good for now.

@tororojo: Okay, I changed you And yes I am exhausted! But not as exhausted as I would be if I were back to work. I can't even imagine staying up all night with this.
@Sophs Mama: Congrats!!! Glad to have another mama on this board!

@Mrs.Panda: I'm due Nov. 13!
How's the bed rest going? Has it eased the spotting?

Yay, lots of new November mamas today! Welcome @rattles: and @Sophs Mama:!!
@MarieJ: super tired over here too! I've been trying to step outside for a few minutes every couple of hours for some fresh air to help wake me up. Really wish I could just have caffeine!
@tororojo: wonderful news your appointment went well!

Wow! Lots more moms to be today! Hi, @Sophs Mama @rattles and @April_Showers!

@Ms.Mermaid: Those are two awesome responses! Did you really say that to the judge? Go you!
@MarieJ: OMG, I'm soooo tired! When I'm not feeling too sick, it definitely helps to go for a walk and get some fresh air!
@tororojo: Yay for a heartbeat and a great OB!

@Thisisme I did! She realized as soon as she said it and I didn't immediately deny it that she shouldn't have asked, and that I should feel free to tell her to mind her own business. Then she got very cute and talked about how much fun babies are, which was nice. I haven't said the "are you calling me fat" thing yet because nobody else has asked. I think we are at an age where my friends would just notice quietly that I'm not drinking and not mention it because they are apparently more polite.

@April_Showers: small world! There are lots of Texas bees but it seems like most are in the Houston area. What hospital will you deliver at? If that's too personal for an online forum, no worries on answering.
grapefruit / 4669 posts
@Mrs.Panda: thanks for updating that! And for all your hard work and many updates!

@tororojo: We are between Baylor (where my current OB/GYN is at...but I am not 100% sold on) or UTSW because it is free (plus we will be in the new hospital). I am waiting to talk to a co-worker next week about who she is seeing before I make a decision.
grapefruit / 4903 posts
@April_Showers: @thisisme: Thanks!
@ChiCalGoBee: We're on the north side too. We lived in East Lakeview until DD was 9 months, then we moved to a bigger place in Andersonville. DH's family is in the western suburbs. I actually grew up in Texas, but I've been here long enough for it to feel like home too! I've always liked your name/icon
grapefruit / 4669 posts
@April_Showers: those sound like 2 great options! But FREE sounds hard to beat. I had DD at Baylor last March and absolutely LOVED everything about the experience but it sure wasn't free, ha! There is a Baylor Moms facebook group that's pretty active if you have hospital questions/need doctor recs/etc. I hope you find an OB you're happy with, hopefully talking to your friend will be helpful!
@rattles: Another Texan deep down!
I guess we're nearing the end of new November due dates. I'm excited that there are so many of us!
grapefruit / 4903 posts
@tororojo: Definitely! My family is all still down there, so my heart is definitely there! We visit often I think we've got another week or so to add mamas - I had DD on 12/1 just missing November, and I found out 3/31 two years ago!
grapefruit / 4669 posts
@rattles: haha, awesome that you still remember DD's POAS date! Is it bad that my doc asked for my current one today and I had to look through a calendar and calculate? It was only 3 weeks ago!
grapefruit / 4903 posts
@tororojo: Haha, it didn't occur to me that it was embarrassing to remember that until after I posted!
@petuniasandpearls: How fun! I think it's going to be a really great age difference, but I guess we'll see! It'll be nice to have the fellowship of other people in the same boat!
grapefruit / 4669 posts
@rattles: totally not embarassing, I bet there are lots of people around here that do as well. I'm one of those weirdos that has never saved or taken a pic of a pee stick, either. We are all quirky in different ways!
grapefruit / 4903 posts
@tororojo: I definitely am not in the keep it or scrapbook it crowd, fwiw
nectarine / 2358 posts
@thisisme: Ack! Sorry, I thought I had added you!! Fixed Bed rest is going okay but I'm probably the worst bed rest person ever. I'm still walking around a bit more than I probably should but today was better than yesterday, activity-wise. I will be parking it on the couch tomorrow and binging on TV though
ETA: Ok now I definitely know something is wrong because I know I added @petuniasandpearls: to the calendar. Maybe I didn't save it on accident? Sorry, I added you both!

Well, this is where I leave you all and say good luck! Turns out we had an early miscarriage yesterday. I wish you the best on your journey toward November!

@rattles: love it! We lived in West Lakeview...my "firstborn," of the 4-legged variety, gets his name from the "R. Village" where we lived for a few years. Love that area! Andersonville is great too, though!

Yeahy lots of new November Mamas. Welcome all!
@Juliem I am so so sorry, my thoughts are with you.

As you know I've been dealing with horrible nausea fur the past few days, it has been getting me really down & teary as I have been barely functioning. Anyway, my lovely DH made me a MS mocktail this morning to cheer me up & by some miracle it had given a some relief so I thought I would share.
I dislike any fizzy pop but as he had heard ginger ale was recommended for MS & nausea he disguised the taste with some freshly squeezed orange juice & sparkling water, served with a fresh pineapple ring! Haha. Hope this helps one of you out.
