@MrsScottish I should be going in every 4 weeks, but they are waiting to see me until April 7th, which is 10 weeks and seems like a long wait. I think then I'll have to wait until 14 weeks.

I saw my parents today but we got into a big fight and now I don't want to tell them at all and just meanly wait until they notice or tell them on Facebook. (I'm not really serious, but they really upset me, and normally we have a decent relationship.)

I got a prescription for zofran and it's the best thing ever. I'm finally able to survive court without gagging! I also got my appetite back for the first time in a couple of weeks. I am super tired all the time though, and I can't seem to get up the energy to make dinner, which makes me feel badly about abandoning my husband to all of the cooking.

DH and I have always said we want a mild safari themed nursery. Grey and green with either bright blue or pink. Think black and white photos of lions, elephants and zebras with touches of other African animals. Very contemporary not to African If that makes sense.....
Last spring break we found a gorgeous large black and white lion photo, and then this summer we found a black and white smaller zebra photo and a zebra pillow to put in my grandpas green glider that is waiting for a baby to rock. We also bought a green shaggy rug from ikea in the summer, it looks like grass!!!
Today we found this! I was so excited. It was no question, it is gray and looks like an elephant!! It is a laundry hamper from urban barn. DH loves it and can't wait to put everything together. I had I share!

@Ms.Mermaid: I'm sorry to hear about that fight with your parents. I hope it's nothing too big and that you're able to patch things up soon. How often do you see them?

@MrsScottish: I love it! It's pretty cool that you already have a theme picked out. I haven't started thinking about it yet and I'm sure DH couldn't care less.

DH does get major points right now. We just got home after a four hour drive and there's nothing appealing to me to eat in the house. I told him what I really want is a meatball sub, and he's heading out to get me one!

    @MrsScottish: Cute! Love this!!

I've been pretty superstitious since the second line showed up on the HPT, so haven't allowed myself to go there yet. SO MUCH rides on my appointment this week. I feel like if baby is right on track I'll allow myself to start dreaming/obsessing over things like nurseries.....even though 7.5 weeks isn't "out of the woods," it will be good to feel like we're on track! All that being said, I think I'd love a book theme.....our nursery space is verrrrry small, so it will require a lot of creativity in a small space:-).

@rins72: Welcome!! Congratulations on your BFP!
@Ms.Mermaid: Ugh-fights with parents are the worst:-(. Hope they turn their behavior around.
@thisisme: Mine gets points today, too....I came back from the race and he had made me breakfast and got donuts from the "good" donut place which is far away:-).

I originally said when we started TTC that I didn't want anything in the house but after many conversations since getting prego that even if this baby doesn't stick we will try again or adopt so we will have a baby or child regardless. We also have a bunch of kids stuff already in our house for our nieces and nephews that come over for sleepovers so we can't make our house childless!!!
So we decided that we will buy little things as they come up or we find good sales- like today. It was on clearance. I like sales!!!

DH best friend is pregnant and due in August and she did not want anything in the house until 3 months. She does not want. Nursery set up until after the baby is born ( her husband thinks she is crazy and we will see who wins!!) I respect her opinion though and they have had a loss already so she doesn't want the reminders around the house.
I think everyone is different, I am very realistic and know that things are not guaranteed, besides that we will have a family one day some how!!

@rins72: Congrats and welcome! So glad to have another November mama on board

@Ms.Mermaid: I hate fighting with my parents... Nothing drags down my day quite like that does. I hope they stop being buttheads soon (it's always the parents )

@MrsScottish: I love your theme and that hamper is so awesome and unique! If we have a boy I'm envisioning a safari/jungle theme. I think that would be so cute, but maybe overdone. Oh well.

I am 9w1d today and I heard the baby's heartbeat for a full minute on my home fetal doppler! I couldn't believe I could find it so early. I timed it at 178 and it sounded strong. I couldn't find it for the rest of the day though, baby must have run away But I'm happy I heard it for a bit.

I also bought a crib today! We had said we weren't going to buy anything until after the first trimester but Target had a great sale on a crib that is normally $249.99 marked down right now to $185. With the Red Card, it came to about $190 after tax. It's only online, but the reviews are great and the price is awesome!

    I got it in Cherry

@rattles: Right?? I was hesitant but the deal was too good to pass up. I was thinking of getting one of those fancier cribs but really, if we are going to have another kid when this LO is around 2, I don't see this going past toddler bed, if even that, before it goes back to crib status. Plus with the inevitable teething marks that it will get and the normal dings, I can't justify spending a lot. Also, I love a deal lol.

It's going to take about a month to get here because the cherry color is on back order, but that's just fine because we have to clear out the nursery, anyway. It's currently a junk room.

@MrsScottish: I hope I didn't offend you by saying how superstitious I am! Really and truly, you have no idea how much my "OMG BABY STUFF IS SOOOO CUTE I WANT TO BUY IT ALL!" side is holding back. I just think that my lack of any massive symptoms have me fearing the worst, and until I have this appointment it just seems like it isn't actually happening. To that end, I may or may not have (*cough I do cough*) some baby clothes I bought over a year ago sitting in a closet. I also knitted a blanket that I was suppose to give to a friend but, uh, it was really cute, so I kept it:-). I love that you and @Mrs.Panda: are already buying cute nursery things! I cannot waaaaait to join you!

@Mrs.Panda: We are full on pink or blue whenever we can find out. I actually have a gut feeling as to what I think it is, but whenever I guess for other people I'm typically wrong, so maybe it's actually the other? Who knows:-).

    @RINS72 welcome!

@chicalgobee I'm in the same boat as you, really scared to start preparing before I hear our babies heartbeat (1 week tomorrow!). But good on you organized mamas. I love the safari theme idea, I'm also a sucker for a sale so we'll see how long I last!

Oh & I also have a gut feeling about the sex, which strangely my husband has too & is the opposite to his (deep down) preference. It will be fun to know if we guessed right. Anyone else have a hunch?

I am trying to convince DH to buy a home fetal Doppler. I also participate in a mostly Canadian November mama to be board on another board and many of them have bought one off of eBay. Sonoline fetal heart Doppler. Any recommendations?!? Because we only get one ultrasound and I am with my go for most visits and not an OB ( I meet her end of April but then only see her regularly after 7 months) I am not sure how often I will get to hear the heart beat with my Gp. I showed him some yesterday, they are about $60.

  21. Mrs.Panda

    nectarine / 2358 posts

@ChiCalGoBee: I guess I'm at a slight advantage to you ladies because I am farther along so I've heard the heartbeat but otherwise I wouldn't be buying things either. But I'm still not buying anything else until after 12 weeks.

@Lolo: in the beginning I had this idea it was a boy but right now I'm not sure. DH really really wants a girl but he has a feeling it's a boy. I don't know what we're having! But if I had to guess I'd say boy, but I would be ecstatic with a girl! I'll take whatever

@MrsScottish: I think for your peace of mind or would be good to get one. I have the Sonoline b doppler and got it used for $40 so that's not bad. I heard the heartbeat for the first time at home yesterday at 9 weeks which is super early so keep that in mind. I think it would be a good investment for you.

Well, my labs are back from Thurs and not only do I get to take progesterone for the next month, I have a UTI and will be taking antibiotics for the next week. AAAH! I hate how many pills pregnancy makes you stuff down. (I am thinking of the current prenatal + DHA, unisom and zofran...and all the extra fiber to counteract the zofran!) Boo on adding more pills but I guess I will be thankful that I haven't had any UTI symptoms.

@MrsScottish: I would think any kind of provider would regularly use a doppler to hear heartbeat? Maybe you could ask before buying your own...unless you just want to have one to play around with, I could see that being fun/comforting- as long as the heartbeat is easy to find.

Just wanted to pop in to say hello, ladies! I sadly won't be joining you on this thread, as I have an early Dec due date (4th based on Ov, 6th based on LMP). But I will be following along to see what's in store for me in the upcoming weeks/months!

so... think I have a yeast infection.... I felt really off yesterday, yucky but not nauseous. I was peeing a ton, and mild burn but I thought it was because I was going so often!! This morning woke up and there is definitely something going on down there! Not sure if it is yeat or UTi... but doc can get me in at 3:40 which is awesome as I dont have to miss any work!
I have never had either... and advice?!?

  27. tororojo

    grapefruit / 4669 posts

@Mrs.Panda: my progesterone was borderline (last pregnancy as well!). I think they said it was 19.something and they prefer at least 20? I'm not very educated on the subject.

@MrsScottish: aww I'm sorry! Drinking lots of water is probably your best bet until you see the doc. The burning pee makes me think UTI- they would probably give you an antibiotic for that, or tell you to take monistat for a YI.

  28. Mrs.Panda

    nectarine / 2358 posts

@tororojo: That's what I thought initially, they say they want you between 18-25 but I tested at 11.9 and they said they don't supplement unless you are below 10. To me that is crazy low, but I guess every doctor is different. I am convinced that's why I have been bleeding so much. Luckily I haven't spotted for a few days so I hope it resolved but that kind of irks me!

  29. tororojo

    grapefruit / 4669 posts

@Mrs.Panda: I hope it resolved, too! Yeah, different docs definitely do things differently. I kind of want to not take them since it's not really that low, but I guess I should take what I was prescribed!

@Mrs.Panda: @MrsScottish: Thank you!! Maybe I will follow both, then I didn't want to be a weirdo butting in when I'm not due this month, but if you all don't mind ... I'll probably start a Dec board in another day or two. I just am nervous since I'm still so early!!

@Mrs.Panda: Hmm, intriguing about you thinking the spotting is due to low prog. I was actually worried I was low in prog (since I consistently had super light spotting the past two months at 8 and 9dpo, then nothing until my period at 13 dpo), so I started eating tons of the foods that are said to be high in prog (mainly walnuts, dark chocolate, and spinach). No spotting this month, and I got my BFP! Not saying that's what did it, but it didn't hurt I'm glad your spotting has stopped, though

@MrsScottish: that hamper is an awesome find. It looks so neat we haven't talked about the nursery yet...we want to go to our first appointment before we start getting too excited.

@Mrs.Panda: that crib is beautiful and what a great deal! Its so awesome that you were able to hear your baby's hb with the home doppler already, I have to admit I am kind of a little jealous you all are so far ahead of me.

Oh man, so much to catch up on on Mondays, since I try to stay off my computer on the weekends!

@ChiCalGoBee: Glad to hear your race went well! I am so impressed you were able to do it. I have a feeling exercise isn't going to be my friend during pregnancy, since I kept felling like I was getting a pulled muscle or hernia when doing my pure barre classes, so had to quit last week. Also, I love your idea of a book themed nursery!

    @rins72: welcome and congrats!

@Ms.Mermaid: sorry to hear you're angry with your parents. But yay for Zofran!

@MrsScottish: cute hamper! A safari nursery is one of my favorite themes, I just helped one of my friends put her safari nursery together this winter! Also, hope you feel better soon.

@thisisme: such a sweet DH you have!

@Mrs.Panda: Hooray for finding the heartbeat at home, that is awesome! Did you get the doppler on ebay?

@tororojo: sorry to hear you're now in the progesterone supplements club. They're a pain, but not too horrible depending on what kind you're prescribed.

@ShayNanigans: Yay for first scan success!!!! What great intuition you had.

So, you can add me to the list of ladies with scary spotting episodes. Friday evening I started spotting, and it was bright pink and freaked me the EFF out. Luckily after about 4-5 hours it started tapering off and turned to brown CM. But I headed into my RE's office first thing Saturday for a walk in scan. Thankfully the babe looked fine, although was measuring 2 days behind (that's their margin of error with the measurements though, so I was told not to worry). Too early for a heartbeat, since I'm only 6w1d today, although the dr swore he thought he saw a flicker for a second. I'm a little sad that they think the bleeding was from a second implantation that was collapsing, and I should expect more bleeding, since you could definitely see the pocket of blood in my uterus. Thankfully the bleed is closer to my cervix than the healthy baby, so hopefully it won't cause any problems with it, just more anxiety for me. I already had another scary episode of pink and red bleeding last night that lasted until about 5:30 this morning but at least I go back again on Friday for another scan and am crossing every finger and toe the heartbeat is visible then.
