@bees_knees: yeah, my dr said that the results wouldn't be online until she shares them with me. But maybe I'll sign up anyways just in case

@Chuckles: please do, so I know what to expect in a couple of weeks! 🤣🤣

@bees_knees: good news! My Panorama results already came back. Everything is low-risk and it's a girl!!

@Chuckles: Congratulations!! That’s such great news!
For all of you who have found out the sex of a pregnancy from NIPT results, did you and your husband find out together? Or did the doctor tell you and then you told him? I think we’re going to choose to find out, I’m just not sure how it works.

@Chuckles: so happy for you!!
@karenbme: clearly I’m just lurking here today but when we did Panorama, my nurse called to say it was low-risk and we waited for it to show on the portal to check sex together. It was also just fun to see it pop up on the screen!

@karenbme: I asked my husband if he cared if the doctor told me first over the phone or if he'd rather wait and look online together, and he said he didn't care. So after I found out yesterday, i bought a pink onesie and wrapped it. Because we weren't expecting to find out so quickly, he had no idea what he was opening. The look on his face was amazing. I'm so glad I didn't just call him right away.

@Chuckles: Congrats on your baby girl!!
I’m jealously watching all of you who have your genetic testing results back. I go in late next week. I’m getting impatient!

@bhbee: That’s a nice way to do it. Idk if I’d want to be able to surprise my DH or find out together, but it’s good to know we could find out together.
@Chuckles: Aww that’s super cute. It could def be fun to do something like that.
@LemonJack: I know right?! My draw is on Friday so we’ll probably get results around the same time.
My Doppler came this morning and we found the heartbeat really quickly! It was too faint to measure heart rate on the screen but we timed it twice and it came out as 172 and 176, so still at the high end of normal, but I did have pancakes and juice for breakfast though so plenty of sugar in my system. It’s really reassuring to know that it’s still there and growing even if I’m getting off light with my symptoms at this point. Still not fully out of the woods, but step by step. 🤞

@karenbme: so glad the Doppler arrived and is already giving you reassurance!! I did the same as @bhbee: so we checked the portal together.

No heartbeat at my appointment on Thursday. Best of luck to the rest of you, and a happy and healthy nine months!

@raspberries: I’m so sorry. I hope you’re able to give yourself the time you need to grieve.

Ugh. I just bo borrowed my SIL's fetal doppler. It's not a very good quality one, but I couldn't find the baby's heartbeat. I did find mine twice but even that was tricky. I do have some belly fat. I wonder if that makes a difference. I'll try again later but hopefully I can convince myself that it's the doppler and not that something's wrong. Maybe I should order the one that @karenbme: got. At least I have an appointment on Friday.

@Chuckles: I wouldn’t stress. Even my OB couldn’t find it via Doppler when I was 12 weeks with DS2!
persimmon / 1495 posts
@bees_knees: thanks! That makes me feel much better. I'm only 12+2 today.
persimmon / 1064 posts
@Chuckles: yeah I have an appt tomorrow (at 10+2 ) and I specifically requested another US because I didn’t want to deal with the stress of potentially not finding a HB via Doppler right away!
persimmon / 1419 posts
@Chuckles: It’s definitely still early to find it. I’ve found my baby’s heartbeat both times I’ve tried, at 10+1 and 10+3, but I have to tilt my pelvis up (idk if you’ve ever done Pilates, but it’s exactly like what they tell you to do in Pilates) and push pretty hard. Also, the second time, I didn’t hear anything until I angled the wand like 30 degrees. Baby is still way down there, so it’s gotta go in behind your pelvic bone to even have a chance to hear anything.
persimmon / 1495 posts
@karenbme: thanks. I'll try that. But it sounds like even OB's can have a hard time with the doppler at 12 weeks (thanks, Google!), so I'm going to try not to stress about it. I think I just got nervous because we started telling everyone, including our son, this weekend. So now I'm just paranoid again that something will happen.
persimmon / 1495 posts
@karenbme: oh my gosh! Tilting up and pushing behind my pelvis totally did the trick. Found it! Thanks!!

I had an appt today, just a standard pee in a cup, take a blood pressure, use the doppler type of appt. But apparently I've gained too much weight (5lbs @ 13 weeks). I was overweight pre-pregnancy (by 2lbs...) so instead of 25-35 lbs I am only supposed to gain max 25. Hopefully now that morning sickness is gone and the weather is nice I can keep it in check.
persimmon / 1064 posts
@Ms. RV: is that really too much? I’ve had 4 OBs in my 4 pregnancies and the only time anyone ever said anything to me about weight was when I gained 47 lbs (whoops 🤦♀️) with DS2. (In my defense, I lost it all by 4 mo PP and he was huuuge haha) As a matter of fact, 2 of my OBs told me that “unless it’s really extreme” (probably like 47 lbs ) they don’t even care about weight gain.
First trimester is hard enough without worrying about 5 lbs. Heck I fluctuate 5 lbs over the course of a day!
All that to say. Meh. Make healthy choices when you can but otherwise I wouldn’t give it a second thought! Just my two cents

Has anyone else been having crazy dreams? I just woke up from one where our blackberry bushes were making blackberries that were the size of big strawberries, and I was just standing in the yard noshing on them one after the other with juice all over my face and hands and in my hair. I have no idea what it means, or why I woke up from it at 1 am. Totally weird, but just one in a string of weird dreams recently. 🤷♀️
persimmon / 1064 posts
@karenbme: yes I have crazy dreams when I’m
not pregnant, and when I’m pregnant they are ridiculous! There is never any rhyme or reason to why I dream of anything specifically either! So weird.
I had another ultrasound today. Baby was doing some acrobatics which was so fun to watch. HB 163, measuring 11w (I’m 10+2). Waiting to get my panorama drawn now! She said she’d expect results by Monday or Tuesday! I’m equal parts nervous and excited.
persimmon / 1419 posts
@bees_knees: Glad to hear everything's still looking good! Good luck with your panorama. Hopefully the results come in quickly! I totally get the nervous/excited combo. Once you get the panorama back, do you think it will flip to just excited?
persimmon / 1495 posts
@Ms. RV: oh I would be so annoyed by that. I thought the recommendation was something like 3 pounds in the first trimester so you're practically at the same point. Everyone is different. I gained about 45 pounds with DS and no one batted an eye.
persimmon / 1064 posts
@Ms. RV: I apparently gained 6 lbs since my appt 3 weeks ago 🤣 Dr office scales man. Can’t trust them.
@karenbme: yes I will def be excited then ! I’m actually just as nervous about the trisomy info as I am about potential gender disappointment Which sounds...selfish. They are certainly different types of nervous, but...that’s how I feel so 🤷♀️
persimmon / 1130 posts
@bees_knees: Good luck! I have my NIPT tomorrow, but we’re team green, so in the meantime I’m having fun hearing everyone else’s results!
And FWIW, I don’t think you’re selfish for having a gender preference.
persimmon / 1064 posts
@LemonJack: I admire your patience! Good luck with the NIPT...which one are you doing? Hope it comes back for you quickly. And thanks I know I’d love a little boy just the same, but this is our last and I know I’ll be sad to miss out on all of the experiences of raising a little girl!
persimmon / 1130 posts
@bees_knees: I have no idea what test it is. This is the first time I’m doing the first trimester screen. I did the second with my other two.
I’ll keep my fingers crossed that you’re having a little girl!
persimmon / 1064 posts
@LemonJack: thanks If you want the NIPT, make sure you’re getting that (it’s also called cell free fetal DNA testing). A first trimester screen is actually different (it’s a blood draw paired with the NT scan which is an ultrasound). I’m sure you know all of that but just in case...the lingo gets tricky and I want you to get what you think you’re getting! Haha [I used to work as a Clinical Laboratory Scientist where we processed and tested all of these, so I’m kind of extra nerdy about it!]
persimmon / 1419 posts
@bees_knees: I don’t think gender preference is selfish, especially since this is your last one. This is my first (of hopefully 2) and if I’m honest I’m also hoping for a girl. Good luck! I’m sending pink vibes your way!
@LemonJack: Good for you being team green! I was thinking we would be team green going in, but DH really wants to know, and it’s not that important to me so we’re going to find out. Good luck with your draw today. I have mine tomorrow so hopefully we’ll all hear around the same time!
persimmon / 1064 posts
@karenbme: thanks I honestly didn’t feel any gender disappointment with any other pregnancies, even my third boy! ...BUT I knew we weren’t done yet too. But now this is my last shot for anything pink!
I’ll think pink for you too
We’ll both know soon enough!
