    @MrsRcCar: Go October mums!

    apricot / 271 posts

    I love pickles and eat them like crazy! Pregnancy has kicked it up to a whole other level.

  6. KrzyRiver

    apricot / 276 posts

    @MrsRcCar: I used to love the website Television Without Pity. They reviewed and rated TV episodes. I loved it when the person reviewing hated a show I loved because they were just brutal, but in the most hilarious way. I was reading a review of an episode of Firefly one day and the writer was talking about this character, River, who's not all there. He made some joke about her being so crazy that she's tuned into KRZY radio. Thus KrzyRiver was born and I've never wanted to part with it.

  7. Amorini

    These are my "amorini"...

    Really an amorino is the chubby little cherub in Italian Renaissance paintings. Plural is amorini. (DH is Italian, we lived there for awhile and our life is a mix of cultures.) And the literal English translation would be "little loves" ... which is what we have been trying to make happen in my belly! So it fit! I think it's cool that we got these two embies. A perfect pair like in the paintings. One kept growing and the other is its guardian angel forever.

    Sorry to the sickies out there. Hope it gets better soon!

    And loving the cute bellies!! Keep 'em coming.

    I'm in the feeling-like-a-lardass still camp. The bump is there but feels lost in my muffin top.. Seriously IVF my body through the wringer...I have felt puffy and bloated ever since prepping for my fresh cycle last summer....even down to my ankles! So I don't spend a whole lot of time checking out things in the mirror I'm not super happy about. Looking forward to the bump being a bump!

  9. Kitkat

    apricot / 325 posts

    @MrsRcCar: mine's not that exciting...my husband calls me Kat (I don't know why...it's not a nickname for my real name at all ) so I just expanded it to Kitkat.

    My acupuncturist today said she thinks I'm having a girl based on my pulse. I'm trying to convince my husband that we should pay for an ultrasound at a place that does early gender determinations starting at 13 weeks (I would probably wait till 15ish weeks because we'll be on vacation from weeks 12-14)...anyone done this before or planning on doing it? If you've done it, would you recommend it?

  10. Shantuck

    pear / 1767 posts

    Shantuck is a mash up of the names of the two cats that my sister and I adopted from a local animal shelter while living together in our young 20s (Shante and Tucker). Sadly, we had to put Shante down in December (the day before my D&C - it was a particularly rough few days for me) but Tucker is still alive and well.

    Hi friends! I have arms and legs now. Still measuring on track at 9w5d and have a very fast heartbeat at 178bpm. I like to make my mama's hairs turn grey.

    ... In other news, I have permission to have a bath - thank the heavens. OB said a week of no heavy bleeds & I am good to go. My sore back is squealing in delight.

    @jaguar: Gummy bear!! And yay for a week with no heavy bleeding! Always excited to hear good news from you!

    Omg the bumps love them! I'll post soon!
    My name is faithfertility because when I joined HB we were going through IF and about to start our first IUI cycle I felt alone and just needed to have faith for my fertility.......I get kinda chocked up now thinking back!

    @jaguar: Look at that babe!

    @Amorini: Love that picture babies are just miracles

    AFM I feel so much better I felt like death, still weak and nauseous but nothing like yesterday!

    Can't wait to snug my girl, I have kept her far away

  18. avivoca

    watermelon / 14467 posts

    @Kitkat: I'm always wary of early ultrasound gender determination. I know two people who have been told girl at 15-16 weeks but at the anatomy scan they found out they were having boys!

  19. FaithFertility

    eggplant / 11861 posts

    @Kitkat: My OB office now does gender scans from 16-18
    Weeks, I really want to but scared it could still be wrong

  20. winniebee

    hostess / wonderful grape / 20803 posts

    @jaguar: great news!

    @Kitkat: I don't think they are reliable until 18w. That said, with my first I had a random scan at 16w and he was very clearly boy then!

  21. artsyfartsy

    cantaloupe / 6692 posts

    @jaguar: Yay little bean!!!

    @Kitkat: We didn't last time. I considered doing it this time but I had a friend be told it was a boy and then it ended up being a girl at her anatomy scan! Being told wrong would be worse than the wait til 20 weeks. Lol. We will probably wait.

    At the doctor this morning. First ultrasound today! Super nervous but excited.

  22. mfa_lady

    pomegranate / 3921 posts

    @jaguar: What a precious little babe! Awesome picture.

    @FaithFertility: So glad you're feeling better!

    @Kitkat: @avivoca: Same here! I'd just wait until the recommended time frame. I also know people who have been told the wrong thing at an elective ultrasounds early on.

  23. artsyfartsy

    cantaloupe / 6692 posts

    Ultrasound was FABULOUS according to my doc. Baby is measuring 9w1d so they moved my due date up to October 19th. I got to skip a whole week. Yay!

  24. winniebee

    hostess / wonderful grape / 20803 posts

    @artsyfartsy: that's great! did you ovulate earlier than you thought or is the baby just measuring big?

  25. mfa_lady

    @artsyfartsy: Whoa, awesome!

  26. whiskers

    kiwi / 657 posts

    @artsyfartsy: awesome! Gah, I can't wait for mine next week.

    @Kitkat: i would never rely on an independent place. Last time I found out through matrrnity21 testing and the time before waited until 20 weeks. I'm assuming that I be waiting until 20 weeks again this time because we moved and I won't have access to the lab that only charged us $35 for the blood test.

  27. FaithFertility

    @artsyfartsy: Beautiful babe!

    Any 2nd or 3rd time mom's having a hard time "connecting" with pregnancy?!
    I'm over the moon we are having a baby, but that is what I want the baby....lol I'm ready to skip over this part!
    To tired day to day and busy
    But I know the cuddles and love coming and just can't wait!

  29. whiskers

    kiwi / 657 posts

    @FaithFertility: I'm better at connecting with each pregnancy, I think. I'm still anxious things are not going properly in there, Tuesday can't come soon enough, so I'm trying hard not to get too attached yet but I've failed.

  30. winniebee

    hostess / wonderful grape / 20803 posts

    @FaithFertility: I'm still sort of in disbelief / won't allow myself to connect yet. I mean, I know I'm pregnant and obviously think about it, but I'm still expecting something to go wrong

  31. FaithFertility

    eggplant / 11861 posts

    @whiskers: Yeah, I feel more confident this time then last
    I can't wait until we can hear the heat beat we go Monday!!!!

  32. FaithFertility

    eggplant / 11861 posts

    @winniebee: I bet, I felt that way with G coming off 2 loses

  33. artsyfartsy

    cantaloupe / 6692 posts

    @winniebee: Just measuring big. I don't think I could have miscalculated by more than a day.

    @whiskers: @FaithFertility: Thank you!

    @FaithFertility: I'm trying but I'm just not connecting like I did with T. I'm so excited and happy but at the ultrasound today I was just "Oh how cute". I think I cried with T. Haha

  34. lilyann

    @FaithFertility: I always find it easier to connect in the 2nd trimester

    My bump
    10w3days
    Pretty big I think for even puking for a day straight

  36. artsyfartsy

    cantaloupe / 6692 posts

    They took so much blood today. I forgot about it so I told my boss I'd be in at noon today. Wishing I could have taken off. Getting blood drawn always makes me exhausted and sick. Going to try and squeeze in some rest before noon.

  37. FaithFertility

    eggplant / 11861 posts

    @artsyfartsy: ughhhh the worst part

  38. mfa_lady

    pomegranate / 3921 posts

    @artsyfartsy: Did your son measure big? So jealous that my due date twin got to skip a whole week! Hahahaha.

    @FaithFertility: I think I'll feel more connected if our ultrasound goes well on Monday. It's tough to even remember why I'm feeling so crappy when I'm chasing a baby around all the time!

  39. mfa_lady

    pomegranate / 3921 posts

    Also, even though I'll likely only be 9ish weeks, I might tell work next Friday if all goes okay on Monday. Because, after the great champagne debacle of a couple weeks ago, now we're having our monthly team book club next Friday and my coworker is setting up a MARGARITA BAR. Come on, people--it's like they know and they're just trying to make me tell. Ha!

  40. winniebee

    @artsyfartsy: I'm jealous! I'm crawling along at 7 weeks, 3 days
