@whiskers: My NP was trying to talk me into believing it might be a boy. I wasn't really buying it. E's was always high, but she is spaz anyway so it's not surprising.

@mfa_lady: exciting! I feel like this is the hardest stretch of time. Not much is happening, so few appointments!

@winniebee: Agree! I'll be happier once I start really feeling some movement.

Thanks for amusing me and my bump camo, ladies!
@jaguar: @avicoca: @winniebee: @yougotme: @faithfertility: Ugh, sorry that you are dealing with being sick sick. I've been having a stuffy nose at night (allergies?) plus mild heartburn and it's nothing, but my sleep quality is crap. I've graduated three pillow to make me a little more comfy, but still. Feel better soon!
@mfa_lady: Yay for a good appointment! Glad all is going well!
@avicoca: have a great a/s today! I thought the scan was going to last longer but ours seemed too short. Time flies looking at the babe!
AFM, I have an appointment at my new OB office today. It's just a repeat of the "maternity counseling" with the nurses, but that's fine. This time I have more inane questions and I'm looking forward to the Doppler. Movement hasn't picked up or gotten stronger for me since 16w. It's still in the "is it really the baby?" category. I think from here appointments will be every 4 weeks until 32w, but I'll learn more today.

We are nowhere on names! Nowhere! And we have two to pick Anyone else in the same boat and/or just feeling behind on baby gear, etc? Even with Lucie's List and names lists galore, it feels like we have so much info to wade through...
Sounds silly but we made a big decision on diapering this weekend. I like the idea of cloth, but it took some research and Q&A with close friends and family who have done cloth to figure out it wasn't going to work for us. Plus learning about some disposable alternatives that we could live with. It felt so momentous just making that decision. Onto the stroller and crib quandary...
What kind of baby-decisions are on your mind?
cherry / 246 posts
@amorini: Yes! We are in the same boat - have made zero progress on names. Good thing we have until October, it's definitely going to take that long! Also not very far on baby gear, but hoping that's okay for now. I have started narrowing down options and a bit of research, but no major decisions. Guess I'll have to really get myself in gear soon-ish!

@avivoca: Hope you your anatomy scan goes well today! I love your kitty picture
@amorini: Yup, same boat here. I think we have a potential girl's name, but no luck yet with boy's names - we're as well. I've managed to convince DH that we should go with middle names as well, though, so I'm happy about that because I like to pass down family names that way (his culture doesn't often use them so he didn't really see the point at first).
We haven't really made any major decisions yet, nor have we bought anything for baby. I think the only thing I've figured out is what colour to paint the nursery, since I want to do that well before I get too top heavy to be going up and down a ladder to paint!
I'm in the same position too with regards to movement, there have been 3 or 4 times since 16 weeks where I think I've felt something, but it's so subtle that I'm still not entirely convinced it's really the baby. Hoping to feel something more definitive soon!
AFM, anatomy scan is this Friday. My mother has been teasing me about finding out the sex, but in that way where I think she's half hoping I actually change my mind at the last minute and decide to find out. As for the in-laws, we're seeing them this weekend and I'm fully expecting an outcry when they realize that they really aren't going to get to know what s/he is until s/he's born. They seem to be under the impression that DH will find out and tell them and they'll just all hide it from me to indulge my silly whim. Um... no. Not happening!

It's a ... GIRL!!!!!!
My due date has also been moved back to September 30. So I'm either having a baby in September or October. Probably in October if I go late again.

A kid in my son's preschool class asked if I was having a baby today...she pointed right at my belly and asked. 4 year olds are BOLD!

@avivoca: Aw, yay! Sisters!!!!!! You guys already have a name picked out, right?

@TapDancer: @cnidaria: @winniebee: Glad I'm / we are not alone!
@avivoca: Yay for little girl and a cute name. Congrats!
Baby's heartrate was at 156 bpm...nice and strong. There was lots of swishing movement but I couldn't feel it, so there's consolation that things are happening even if I can't really detect it.
The nurse almost told me the gender!! Usually it's the first thing I tell them when they walk in the room: "Don't tell us!" However, this time I forgot and the nurse caught herself just in time.
I'll go back at 24w, 28w, then at 32w I start WEEKLY u/s until the end b/c I'm a 40+ AMA-er. It's actually optional because I'm only high-risk by age, but I figure why not get the extra care, right? Even though there is only a slight increased risk for age alone, a dear friend of mine was 40+ and lost her baby girl out of the blue at ~35w, so unfortunately I know that it can happen.

Had my 20 week appointment today. Everything's looking normal. Man these doctor appointments are so tedious. "Heartbeat good. No questions for the doctor. Okay see you in four week...." Or really they are super tedious with a 2 1/2 year old in tow. I used to love it when I didn't have to take kids to the appointment. Now I'm just frazzled all the time trying to corral and entertain the kid. Oh well. Will be back in four weeks for next appointment and glucose test.

@avivoca: I knew it! (I could tell from your belly, because I'm a weirdo. haha) Congratulations!
Lots of lovely visits ladies, squee! Can't believe so many of you are 20+ weeks already!
I have my 19 week morphology scan on Saturday. Pretty nervous that they'll find something wrong, which is hopefully my anxiety talking. I had a panic attack this morning at home because I couldn't find the baby's heartbeat... but after some searching, I found it WAY up higher than it's ever been before. I hope that means she's growing.
I also want to triple check her sex again, just because I'm feeling like we're 100% on her name.. I want a bit more clarity. I know I should trust the NIPT results but you know me.

Love reading all the posts the last few days.
Names; we were SET on a boys name, then found out we are having a girl. We can't seem to narrow down the girl names any further than about 10.
Baby moving; I started feeling the baby move at 14 weeks. A few days ago, at 18 weeks and a few days, my hubby could even feel her moving from the outside. She's definitely a squirmy one!
Buying things; CRAZY as it is, I WON a nice baby package from an Instagram loop giveaway! It had a baby jogger city lite stroller, a milk snob cover, a new fit bit, high tech ear phones, and some sunglasses. The stroller came in the mail Saturday. So much fun seeing it on the doorstep... And FREE! now we can narrow down car seat options based on what will work with the stroller. Beyond that, we have the nursery furniture, nursery colors and crib sheets picked out. No "gear" or anything beyond some fun stuff.
On another note, I let myself spend a day shopping for baby girl. I've spent so many years shopping for everyone else... It's my turn now! Got 5 little outfits that were just too cute, and nice and cheap (thanks Macy's!)
Last, anatomy scan is tomorrow. Give me the scoop!! What do I expect? We haven't had an ultrasound since 9.5 weeks. How scary is the info that they're going to find/not find?!
Also, I hear you guys talking about u/s's...we were told we won't have another one after our anatomy scan tomorrow. I was crushed to hear this. Guess I was niave to all this.

@waiting4you: WOW! I am so jealous of your win. I never win anything, haha.

@jaguar: I NEVER win anything either! This is prob the first time!
*forgot about the skip hop diaper bag too.
This was the pic they sent me that I had to post on my Instagram to complete the win. It was sponsored by about 20 etsy shops. The girl who is in contact with me to ship everything is super nice. Asks me what color/style I want on things. Really wonderful!

@waiting4you: we have a city select stroller. I know it's not the same, but ours was compatible with most car seats we just had to buy the correct adaptor. Hopefully yours is similar. And congrats!

Has anyone experienced fibroid degeneration? They call it "Red Degeneration" when it happens during pregnancy. What a lovely name...pain that comes with it is just as lovely...
I knew I had a small (2cm) fibroid before I was pregnant and as expected, it grew with the pregnancy (thank you hormones). Now it's measuring at 4.5cm and it started to degenerate as of few days ago. At first, pain wasn't too bad and I was able to go about my day but within 24 hours of pain starting, it became extremely painful and I could actually feel the hard mass through my skin as it was protruding outward (gross, I know!). Pain came in waves but became longer and more frequent and also more painful. I made it through the night and called my OB first thing in the morning and she told me to come see her. She did a quick u/s to assure me that our baby was doing well and also showed me the fibroid! It was definitely not in the way of the baby (phew) but it looked so big! And so dark and scary! She prescribed me meds for me to take for two days and I'm nearing the end of the two days and not sure how I'm going to deal with the pain once I'm not able to take medication. She also put me on bed rest and strict no-flying for 3 weeks.
Furious googling led me to believe that the pain will probably last anywhere between few days to few weeks. It'll most likely come back during this pregnancy. I mean I know every pregnancy is different but just wanted to see if anyone else has experienced this and would love to find out if there's anything else I can do to help the pain, other than laying low/bed rest.
Thanks for reading this long post!

Hi ladies!! I have been absent for awhile because I had finals and then had to readjust to going back to work at my old salon. It's been really tough on my body, which I should have expected since it's been two years. But I was still surprised.
We have our anatomy scan on Monday! I'll be 20+1. I've been impatiently counting down the days, but also trying not to think about it too much so I don't start to worry. I can't believe we might know our baby's sex in five days!!
@avivoca Congrats!!
@waiting4you: Good luck at your scan! My little one moves around a lot too, but I haven't felt anything for sure yet. Flutters here and there, but my belly fat and placenta are creating a barrier.

FYI, all paint samples at my local lowes are on sale for $0.99 (down from $3.49 each). Not sure if this is just my store or an "end of season colors" type thing at all stores. Definitely helpful if you're getting ready to paint baby's room!!! Good if you have a small project to do too (chalkboard paint maybe?)

So fun! Anatomy scan was perfect and our little bean was crazy active! Had a lot of laughs with the tech trying to snap screen shots to get measurements before she would move. Open and closed fists a bunch, kicking all over and rolling like crazy. Was a very neat experience!

@KrzyRiver: I had no clue how obsessed with baby feet I could be till I saw that pic!! her hands were so cute too but didn't get a good, still, pic.
