@whiskers: Worst case scenario is that baby girl is wearing all of her big brother's clothes and in a nursery with all his cute little boy decor (but hopefully I'll have my sh*% together long before then).
I contributed to the other site for winniebee but would be happy to be involved with something from this board as well.

I have my anatomy scan this Friday. I'll be 21+5 and am feeling a little freaked out. I still don't feel any movements, which I know is still "normal" for a FTM but it would be reassuring to feel something. My belly certainly seems to be growing, so I've got that going for me. It's still hard to feel excited.

Hey guys, sorry I've been quiet lately. Bunch of crazy family stuff happening here, so stressful I started having braxton hicks contractions last night, which scared me. I need to distract myself from everyone else's problems, which is hard when it's immediate family stuff, you know?
Anyway... 20+4 today. Started feeling some small twitches at bedtime but still nothing OBVIOUS for movement. But I hope it's a sign that it's coming.
I've got horrible sinuses, and this pregnancy has me constantly stuffy.. I keep losing my sense of smell/taste.

Anyone else getting super annoyed with stuff lately?!
Today I planned a wonderful hour long prenatal massage for myself as a way to celebrate 20 weeks/half way! It was wonderful and I loved every second. Then I came home to 2 pieces of mail from our HOA with warnings for violations. We had painted our dirty nasty cream colored front door when we bought last year...well 8 months later we're now getting a warning that it's not an approved color and we have 2 weeks to change it. 🙄 Super annoyed.
Then my car, a 2 1/2 year old Kia SUV is now giving me problems. Won't start with the keyless start. Had it towed to the dealer and they said nothing is wrong with it and it's an "anti theft feature and I'm pressing too hard on the brake pedal when I start the car". I've had this car for 2 1/2 years (bought new) and this hasn't happened till the last 3 weeks and I've now been stranded in the 100+ degree heat 3 times in the last 10 days. Luckily my inlaws love close and my hubby wasn't on shift. Oh, and the paint on the front hood is just coming off. Bubbling and primer showing. Seriously?!
So I tried to get all my work done tonight so we could take it to the dealership AGAIN tomorrow but my internet went out for over an hour and couldn't finish calls before the end of the business day.
Long story short....I'm SUPER annoyed and the peaceful massage I got is a distant memory. We're still going to the dealership where we bought the car tomorrow will just have to be later in the day.
And did I mention...the bathroom my husband is renovating...the toilet from it is currently residing in the. FAR from finished nursery. Not a happy camper.

@waiting4you: Um, yes. A pregnancy symptom for me is literally irritation. Ha. I was like this the first time, too. And sometimes it turns into straight RAGE. I can keep it under control but sometimes it is ROUGH. Blah!

@waiting4you: Oh yeah. I've been super irritable these past few weeks. The way my husband just moves pisses me off sometimes. Totally irrational.

So glad others are as snippy as I am. I'm usually fine but today really got on my last nerve with ruining my relaxing massage day!!

On a good note... We ordered the dresser for baby girls room this weekend!! I've literally wanted this for years...long before we were even talking about children. So glad it was still available !!

@mfa_lady: @jaguar: @waiting4you: Oh, yeah, totally irritable here, too. It's like I've found a new turbo gear when my anger gets provoked and I turn into Incredible Hulk (the circa 1980s hulk, not the new one). Watch out! You won't like me when I'm angry!

@TapDancer: I totally have the same thoughts of not wanting to get too far ahead of myself with buying things. At this point, I have all the assurances that things are going well, but then my mind gets the best of me and I start finding other things to worry me. Just wanted to say you're not alone!
@Shantuck: @MissAriel: @tapdancer: I haven't made any progress on baby prep either!! Since the last time I updated, DH and I discussed names again and have a few options that may or may not stick. As far as baby gear purchases, we haven't bought a thing (and this is #1). I've made a few lists and consulted quite a few others and I think I am coming to the realization that I want to just get the newborn essentials and leave stroller, pack-n-plays and bouncers and all of that other stuff that isn't needed on day one until LO is here and we see what we need. (I have a list of what I like for those items so it's not like I'll need to start from scratch.) I realize the minimalist approach is not for everyone but this line of thinking helps me manage the anxiety of both having a healthy pregnancy and the consumerist mayhem of buying all of the baby stuff. ETA: Not implying anyone is an uber-consumerist for buying stuff, just that lotsa "stuff" makes me freak out and feel anxious.... making DH (a pack-rat collector) and I (chronic organizer/declutterer) a real dynamic duo!

@waiting4you: oh yes. I even realize in the moment of snippiness/irritation that I'm being ridiculous, but I still can't stop. Luckily my husband has a pretty good sense of humor and so far is rolling with it. Poor guy!
PS - that dresser is SO great! What a cool piece.

@Amorini: Yes, exactly. Glad to know I'm not alone! My MIL was in town this weekend - she is verrrry excited about the impending grandchild and peppered me with a million questions, ideas, etc. It was sweet, but I felt bad not being able to match her level of pure excitement/confidence quite yet. It'll come I know...and like everything else in pregnancy so far, probably go in waves! One step at a time, right?

You guys! I just had my first stranger comment on my belly and ask when I was due. Does that mean I look more pregnant than chubby now? Squee!

@jaguar: yay! that's the best. strangers just started commenting to me last week suddenly and I've gotten at least one comment every day! So fun.
Has anyone had a crazy dizzy spell? This morning totally out of nowhere I suddenly felt like I was going to throw up but could barely walk. I was in my office with the door shut. I grabbed a plastic bag just in case then sat down on the floor. The room was spinning and I was sweating profusely. It lasted about 5-10 mins. Thankfully my assistant came in to bring me my mail so I had him get me some water and that made me feel better. I had eaten breakfast and had water in the morning, though. No idea what it was but google says maybe low blood pressure or sugar? I've felt kinda off all day.

@thepicklemonster: not as bad as what you described, but we were at a state park this weekend and it was HOT, but comfortable enough in the shade where I was hanging out. All of a sudden my heart started racing and I got dizzy. I sat down and drank some water and was fine after that, so I think mine was more related to being slightly dehydrated. I have read that blood pressure drops in the second trimester, so maybe that was it. Hope it was a one-time thing!

@whiskers: How did your anatomy scan go today? My OB's office just called to remind me about mine tomorrow. I was like "thanks, it's all I've been thinking about" lol

@thepicklemonster: Not that bad, thank goodness. I'm so glad you are okay!

@thepicklemonster: I think it's definitely related to blood pressure or blood sugar. xxx

@FaithFertility: Oh ouuuuuuch! You have my sympathies, I got them after G was born but not huge, thankfully. Youch!
@whiskers: Glad all is good.
Well, I have been busy today! Sorting through the spare room, trying to make it a blank slate ready for new baby. Have been sat on the floor going through G's outgrown clothes, putting them in space bags and man, I'm pooped. About to put her down for a nap and I reckon I'll join her!

Had my AFP bloodwork done yesterday. My doctor promised me that if the results came in this weekend she would either call or email me with results so I wasn't stuck waiting until Monday. Glad I won't have to wait unnecessarily long.

Just had anatomy scan and have never felt more relieved (even though there was no reason for me to worry). Everything looked good. Baby is measuring big at 1 lb 4 oz, and its head and belly are both measuring two weeks ahead! Still TG!!! Yay! Have a great weekend everyone
